Kenichi Otomo (大友 健一 Ōtomo Ken'ichi?) is a Japanese animation director active since 1984. He does animation director and key animation works in Detective Conan anime, movies, OVAs and spin-offs.

Works in Detective Conan

Otomo first started in Detective Conan in 2009, as key animator in A Fool's Inheritance. The rhythm of his commissions then progressively augmented and, in 2010, Otomo was appointed to animation director for episode 587, which he directed along with Miharu Nagano. Since then, he has mainly worked with Nobuharu Kamanaka, Nobuyuki Iwai, Chiemi Hironaka, Miharu Nagano and Akira Yoshimura.

In 2011 and 2012, Otomo participed in the Magic Kaito TV specials. Under Koujin Ochi, Otomo was mainly paired with Akira Yoshimura. Later on, with the arrival of Yasuichiro Yamamoto as director, Otomo worked with Kamanaka. After Kamanaka was appointed as co-director, Otomo's participations became less frequent.
