Hello Outcast! Welcome to the forums! I appreciate your input. It does sound like an interesting idea indeed! But like Southpaw mentioned, it wouldn't be wise to become a torrent seeder at this stage but we may consider putting a link to relevant torrent files and trackers. Just like for streaming, it would be like providing a link to an external resource. And I know many people do prefer to download episodes than watch them online (I noticed that quite a bit on http://answers.yahoo.com). But at the moment, we just don't have the resources/bandwidth to host and seed a torrent file. Not to mention that it would be quite unwise on the legal side of things: it wouldn't be cool if FUNimation decided to take action for hosting copyrighted materials -- which is the main reason we're linking to video streaming sites in the first place --> they're not hosted on our site. To sum up, we have two points to consider here: hosting resources and legality issues.

Cool, another Phoenix Wright player/fan! I've finished the first 3 on my DS and am playing Apollo Justice at the moment. I'm guessing you have a DS too? heh @Thread: Kaze No Rarara - Mai Kuraki (DC opening 12) -
Mm, let's see: - work on DCW - work on other sites, projects and more... - play soccer + other sports - watch anime - watch movies - surf the net - listen to music - play games on my xbox or wii or pc - go out with friends - and more...

Thanks Southpaw! That's some great information you provided there. Definitely to be added to the wiki! ^^ I'll sticky this topic so that it can be updated more easily.

Lol.. interesting thought.

You have a rather big family! And a twin sister too? That's pretty cool! As for my family, let's see: - My dad: Yusaku - My mother: Eri - My two little brothers: Conan and Mitsuhiko That's pretty much it. Maybe I'll extend it to my cousins later lol.

Detective Conan's target audience: old people who read DC?
Maurice replied to DetectiveConanfan's topic in General
Also, DC is not quite like other animes. Besides its entertaining value, it stimulates our curiosity and thinking process. We're not just spectators to the show anymore, but actual actors in the show: we try to think alongside Conan to try and discover the truth behind the case (and before it is revealed at the end of the episode). All of those factors show how this anime can be of both great entertainment and instructional value and thus is awesomely suitable for all ages. -
I just quickly checked it out and you're right. That's pretty odd. Maybe the episodes 110-111 were re-ordered in the middle of the season airing? It would be interesting to know the exact reason.. mm

Basically, we're talking about two kinds of episodes here: - The TV Specials - The 1-hour Specials The only TV special to date is the Conan vs Lupin III one. And the 1-hour specials ones are still normal episodes (and part of the TV seasons) but they last 1 hour instead of the usual half an hour (including commercial breaks). Making a separate section just for the 1-hour specials would be a good idea but could also be confusing since as stated above, they're still normal episodes and viewers may not understand the reason behind the segregation, etc. Maybe it could be done in the future, but it won't be a priority at this stage. It would be best to focus on brand new sections like "Music" where all opening and ending music/videos are showed or on a gallery, etc... Oh but we could definitely show those 1-hour specials more prominently in the wiki (with the list of all episodes). This way, you could see right away which ones are 1-hour specials?

Hello HermioneXHaibara! It's great to see you on the forum! I remember how we first met on Twitter. And one thing I can say so far: You're one energetic DC fan lol! (which is totally awesome) I'm glad you're having fun around here and that you like the site! Oh and HxH is also the acronym for another awesome anime: Hunter x Hunter. So, that's x2 awesome already!

It's in times like these that the wiki may prove to be incredibly useful: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki ... s_identity If you learn of any new character who discovers Conan's identity, please feel free to add it to that list.

Do the Movies go between the episodes???
Maurice replied to DetectiveConanfan's topic in Movies and OAVs
You can indeed see them as "seasons" extras (just like DetectiveSherry explained, they do not influence episodes, but episodes can influence them). But just like seasons, it's best to see them in order, and make sure you watch the movie after the corresponding season(s) (thus not too fast). Let me explain: Basically, since the very beginning of Detective Conan in 1996, one or two seasons (one and a half season if you prefer) have been released each year. And just at the same rate, a movie has also been released every year and always in April. (If you think about it, 1996 + 13 (movies) = 2009 ) BUT, what's interesting is that there are currently 18 seasons (more than the amount of movies). Therefore, I would recommend you watch about 2 seasons first, then watch a movie, then watch another 2 seasons, then watch the next movie and so on. This way, there won't be any chronological gap at any point in time since each movie gets released in the middle or around the end of two successive seasons. If you do it this way you won't miss anything and will understand everything. Hope that helps. -
Welcome to DCW ai! I'm glad that you're having fun here! I hope you enjoy your time among us. See you around!

Hi Ellaine! It's really awesome that this forum is the first one you actually registered to lol. And thank you for the kind words! ^^ And I agree, the deduction part is pretty cool, mainly because halfway through the episode, it's so easy to be puzzled about the trick used that you almost can't wait for the truth to be revealed. I hope you enjoy your time! See you around!

Hello Rica! Welcome to DCW! I'm really glad you like the site. Oh and I'm also from Toronto! So cool hehe! So how did you learn about Detective Conan? And I also recommend you watch all the episodes. Some cases are really really interesting and/or just fun to watch. You won't regret it! Have fun and see you around!
-
Hello Julia! Yay, you finally registered! Do you actually prefer the manga to the anime? or are they both more or less the same to you? =o I was planning to start reading the manga (I'm mainly watching the anime right now). I just need to find time, heh. Oh and there's no age for appreciating a good manga/anime.

Lol me too. I can pick up some words or expressions like "itadakimasu" or "arigato gozaimasu" but yeah, that's about as far as my Japanese goes for now. :/ I did buy a "Learn Japanese" box set though but I'm still on CD1 and barely can find the time to spend time on it... Shame on me..

Not yet. :/ I tried installing a plugin (to integrate wordpress with phpbb) a while ago but it was too buggy - and in beta. Maybe in the future, I'll come up with a good way to do this.
