I just want to say that never use the anime for evidences because they sometimes ruin important clues, so it's not convincing to use evidence from the anime, as it maybe different from the manga (the anime is not done by Gosho). To tell if the page is flipped or not is easy, if the reading order is right-to-left, then it's not flipped. I don't remember the glasses scene, but your second example ("she used her left hand when grabbing Conan's arms"), was that the Bus Hijacking case (Volume 29), after the bus exploded ? I see that you saw it in the anime. However, like I said above, the anime is not made by Gosho, so it may not reflect his idea correctly. In the anime version, they showed that Vermouth first used left hand to grab Conan's hand, than use right hand to pull up his jacket to examine the wound. However, in the manga, that scene is drawn ambiguously, so we don't know which action was first. Vermouth/Araide could have very well used right hand directly to grab Conan's arm while pulling up his jacket at the same time; then use left hand to hold Conan's hand and see the wound. Since either way can be true, it also depends on how people look at it. Therefore I don't think this is a valid point.

(This is not a double post because the other one was like ages ago.) Has there been any case (manga canon) that Kogoro actually solved a case by himself without any hint from Conan ?

That's what I guess. Anyway I've edited some things in my original post, but it's not very important.

This is my Top 5 (also posted in another thread as well). Besides from the reasons I like those characters, I also include my dislikes: 1. Vermouth: Will always be my MOST favorite character in the whole series. Mysterious, manipulative, ruthless (kills people with a smile <3), caring, bold, good in disguise, good at shooting (more like aiming). She's one of the few reasons why I'm still reading Conan. Things I dislike about her: She smokes -.- And wears make-up EVERYWHERE, even INSIDE a latex mask But most importantly, she loves trolling us with all the secrets. 2. Toichi Kuroba: Makes a Kaito Kid much better than his son. The REAL master of the disguising art (in DC/MK universe). Things I dislike about him: He died Also too "gentleman-ish". 3. Amuro: I personally like this guy's personality (whether it's acting or not). The following is manga spoiler, don't click if you don't want to know: Things I dislike about him: His hair design -.- although I'm getting used to it. 4. Akemi: Well, she's pretty Despite being a minor character, her flashback appearances have said enough about her personality. Her love story also ends in tragic, it differs from most couples in DC (more importantly, NOT childhood friends). It was Scar Akai who sent the message. Why you think it's Okiya ? Just because Okiya also solved the case doesn't necessarily mean he's the one that sent. Basically there are 3 person who solved the case: Conan, Okiya and Scar Akai (off-screen). Gosho doesn't show SA solving, but that can be deduced by the readers because like you said, it doesn't make sense if Okiya sent it, while the one to return the phone was SA. The proof is that although Okiya figured out that the case was related to the snow-mountain event (702 - page 15), and since he searched the Internet, he would most likely find out that the one who sent the shirts was the daughter (Conan also figured it out that way); the message that Kogoro received didn't have that part (704). It only solved the 13-red-shirt mystery without revealing the identity of the shirts' sender, so he and the sender could not be the same person (this clue may not be convincing enough). Secondly, judging from the way the sender speak: "Hurry and complete your investigation so that we may be released." we can see that he's in a rush, which suits Scar Akai's situation, who wanted to get out fast (he felt that there's someone watching him in 702; but there might have been other causes as well). Meanwhile, Okiya still stayed calm, he also didn't have any reason to be that hurried either... Furthermore, if you assume that Okiya is Akai, then he has already known that Conan's the brain behind Kogoro and how smart he is, he didn't need to send Kogoro that message, as Conan would figure out anyway. Chek wants to add that the random guy said it was Scar Akai who returned the cellphone Kogoro received the message from. Ran figured out the phone by texting it.
