  1. ((Agh, life is in my way @@ I'll try, but i may only be able to give a short response every couple of days _ _" )) Elli frowned at Ari, "We don't have a cover. I'm a writer, so a book on psychology in crime is feasible. I might actually do it later. We need whatever information we can get without lying to the police. It's not worth their anger later to get an extra clue. And it's not like we're racing for some solution. We can always do somethin' different or wait for better help." With a shrug she sighed, "I don't see why you asked me to work with ya. I'm not good at getting info, just putting it together. Like the twist in River Song's story on Doc- never mind, time lord reference..." She went back to the desk and scribbled her cell number on a scrap of her notebook paper, on the back of an old doodle. Passing the piece across the table she added, "This is my cellular... If anyone could give me relevant information on the subject of the killer and his actions or mindset, please have them call me at their earliest convenience. Is there anyone I may speak to regarding any part of the case I could use in an intellectual way for the book? It's a profiling compilation, for use as reference and education, so hard logic and speculation are both welcome at the time."
  2. Elizabeth grumbled, "I never said ya were..." With a sigh she headed in, standing at the front desk and putting on a professional smile. "Hello. Myself and my colleague are working on profiling the actions of a killer for a book we're putting together. Actually, we stumbled across a scene earlier and would like to speak to someone regarding the details that could define the unsub's MO. Is that possible at this time?"
  3. "Tch, fine, fine..." L sighed and tucked her phone back in her bag, picking up her pace. She wasn't that late, and he didn't have to yell... But whatever, she was supposed to be working with Ari apparently, so she needed to catch up to him, if only to keep him from doing something extreme. If he was anything like his characters portrayed him on the rps they'd done, L needed to look out for him. Plus she wanted to know how much the police actually knew about the case. She'd hate to think her future would be spent like the police from so many mystery books, as comic relief for private detectives who would solve her cases while her team was still working on one suspect. When she arrived at the station she spotted Ari pacing impatiently at the front, but L decided not to wave or call to her partner. Instead she grabbed his arm as she passed and dragged him in to the building. "Oi, if you hang around like that outside a police station you'll really look suspicious, like a freakin' bomber or somethin' waiting for somethin' bad to happen." With a frown she looked around. It was quiet at the front, though likely bustling behind the walls as the detectives were hard at work. At least she thought it should be. "Whattaya want to do?"
  4. You're welcome xD Glad you liked it. Horror manga is a great way to scare.
  5. ((Agh, I have no access sometimes, so I'm behind again @@ Catching up... )) Elizabeth woke with a start, yawning and glancing at her watch. "Damn, it's already... I'M LATE!" She hopped up from where she'd fallen asleep and grabbed her bag, throwing it over her shoulder. She dialed the number she'd put in her phone earlier, hoping Ari would pick up... When he did, she coughed and cleared her throat. "Eh, sorry, I fell asleep before. Where are you? I'll meet you there I guess. I'm late, right?"
  6. Elizabeth shrugged. "I wasn't really plannin' on doing a group...I'm not much of a group investigator. I'm more of a- bodyguard, maybe? But I guess I can use some psych stuff an' logic, so... sure." She reached out to shake Ari's hand. "Teammates?"
  7. ((No problem xD Mis-communication is part of becoming friends xD)) Elizabeth broke out into a grin. "Okay, sorry. I'm pretty sure you meant riding shotgun..." She scratched her head, the smile looking odd but not forced. "Well, uh, the four of us who sat up front in the cars were in charge of putting this thing together. I mean it was mostly IU, I just figured it'd be fun. I can't actually drive, so I ended up in front with Mark when we drove. Though I don't really know any of 'em very well. I prob'ly should've talked to 'em more..." She trailed off, then sighed, "Sorry, tangent." Hearing Ari's question, she reached out to shake Heksu's hand, but ended up awkwardly slapping it like a high five and turning to the other member. "I'm not sure of the caliber. I didn't get to see the wound, and I'm not big on researching the technical stuff. I focus on the psychology of the cases... not that I've been involved in many." She smiled awkwardly again, aware of her lack of communication skills. "Er, what I mean's I don't know. I would assume it's not some little .22, but I'm real behind of the hard info." L looked around at the group. How many were excited for the case? She didn't get excited, but she knew the murder hadn't fazed her. She'd been desensitized for a long time. No one looked in shock of scared, so she figured that was a plus. She watched Amber talking to Banana-san. Eh, he has a real name, but... I can't get the screen names out of my head... ^^" "Ah-" There's Amber, Rose, Nur, Mark, Sophia, Lily Jay, Ari, Abdhul... Elli remembered having seen Mi-chan earlier, and figured she should find out his name too. "Maybe I'll just stick with screen names..." For some reason, she couldn't seem to focus on the case. To be honest she couldn't much focus on anything at the moment, but something about the situation gave her a chill. Well, that was probably from the rain...
  8. Elli stared at Heksu, suppressing another yawn. "Why do I- what? Shotgun?" Like I sat shotgun in the car? Or does he mean a firearm? Her frown returned, and she glanced at the group around the corner. "Okay, what do you mean? If you're talking about the word Winchester that the police put on the list of my belongings, that's my pocketknife, made by the company. And I own a rifle, not a shotgun. I'm not old enough or advanced enough in police training to get a handgun where I live. And obviously I don't have a concealed carry permit yet, the rifle's for home protection. I gotta rely on martial arts an' pepper spray." She scratched her head, somewhat out of it still and not really knowing the question. "If you want to know what I am, I'm a writer, an actor, an artist, and a future police officer. I dabble in too many things. That answer your question?"
  9. L shrugged at Ari, mumbling, "Nah, i'm just kinda tired. A little headache's all." She yawned, then looked around. "We leaving yet?"
  10. Elizabeth sneezed as she closed her door. "Dang it, maybe I shouldn't have hung around in the rain..." A cold in summer was a pain, especially since she was supposed to be doing something with DCW now. But she supposed it was fine. The rain had felt good, as always, and as long as she dried off fully, she probably wouldn't get sick. "Tch, some woman's dead 'n' here I am worried about a stupid cold." She sighed and shook her head, taking a small towel from the closet. Once she'd dried her hair and peeled off her wet overclothes, she studied herself in the mirror. The scar that ran across her abdomen was still prominent. Her mother said they could have the scar tissue removed, but it was a part of her after all these years, just like her scattered cooking burns and scars she'd earned in recklessness. "I've got 'til 6, huh?" L threw on her favorite pants and flannel vest, trying and failing to get a tie around the collar. After fiddling with it for 5 minutes she gave up and dumped her waterproof backpack on the table. "Search all ya want detective, you won't find anything you can pin to the case..." Carefully and with a mild tinge of OCD, she checked that everything she'd taken was still there. "Composition an' sketch books. Pencils, graphite, cash. Keychain with the flashlight an' screwdriver... Eh?" She dug around in the bag, then put everything back and checked on and under the table. "Okay, where is it?" Her pocketknife was definitely not there... Elizabeth dug in the pockets of her sopping wet cargo pants, finally digging out the cold knife. "Almost thought that cop took it after that little scene." With a half smile she stowed the weapon in her bag. "Good old Winchester," she chuckled, throwing the bag over her shoulder. "Hm, looks like time ta go to me." It was 6:05 when she reached the meeting site, and she sighed under her breath at her mild lateness. Despite her self-annoyance, she took a seat on the floor near the couches, not wanting to awkwardly invite herself to sit with someone. It looked like everyone had ordered drinks, so she hopped back up and went to the counter. "Eh, I'll uh, have whatever cola you have..." The woman behind the counter passed her a cup, and L handed her a five dollar bill. "Er, thanks." She really didn't like asking people for things... She'd rather go without than bother somebody, but in this case she supposed ordering a drink would give the woman monetary compensation, so in the long run it would have a positive effect on- "Stop analyzing it, dang it..." Elli never could just do something. There was a constant battle in her mind over how it would turn out in the long run, though for some reason unless it involved others she never worried. Shaking her head again at her lack of social skills and tact, she plunked down by the couches again, coughing and taking a sip of her soda. L pulled her knees up to her chest and sat with her back against the couch. Now that she thought about it, she was pretty tired. She could talk to the others when everything calmed down a bit. It couldn't hurt to close her eyes... The cup was still nearly full in her hand as she dozed off.
  11. L was bored. She'd been a bit spaced out the whole day, wandering around a few yards behind everyone, but it had started raining again. She would have gone inside, but then again there was no thunder or lightning, so it was completely safe. Water had never killed anyone- Aaaaand, someone was dead. With a sigh, L mumbled to herself about the likelihood of their group coming into contact with a mystery and walked as far from the large scene as she could without losing sight of everyone, standing calmly in the downpour and observing as Jay and the police interacted. As the crowd around the murdered woman thinned and the sound died down, she felt the rain lighten, and looked up, wondering how interesting the day might become. She wasn't fascinated by the killing; in fact she was entirely apathetic about the affair, which was why she could never be the bearer of bad news. Elli never understood emotion, not really, and there wasn't much that could make her feel sadness, or love for that matter. Someone would be saddened by the death of that woman, and that was what bothered her. Those who felt human emotion had to understand even more what sadness could do. At least she figured that. Those thoughts refused to be silenced as she watched the police. They appeared to be finished questioning and about to leave, so she walked blankly over to the man who appeared to be in charge. "The woman who you questioned... She was cleared, correct?" "I'm afraid we can't share that information with civilians, miss." "Miss?" L's frown deepened, and she glared at the officer. "Look, that girl is no more capable of murder than you. I may not know her very well, but of that I'm certain. So I suggest you don't focus on the obvious suspect and let the killer slip past in the guise of innocence." "Your saying that doesn't exactly give me the impression that you're uninvolved. I suggest you keep your nose in your mystery books, kid." Okay, now she wasn't bored. She was pissed. Her clothes were soaked and she was getting chilly, so the tacked-on pronoun was the last straw. "Do I look like a kid to you? I'm an adult, certified to vote and quite possibly going into police training, so don't lump me in with the children who stare as you pass on the street and ask things like if you've ever shot a man. And judging by your small range of investigation, I doubt you've ever faced a killer and seen the remorselessness of his eyes. Jay was in shock. And that's not the reaction of one who's killed before, so if you want to tie this to the serial killings you police chase so readily, you better believe she's not your killer." Her rant finished, L frowned at the police officer and crossed her arms. "I'm sure I'll be seeing you again. And next time you won't be so easily awarded with a suspect..." She turned away as the man asked, "Where were you when that woman fell?" L was walking toward the group now. She could see Jay and another member, and with a smile, she decided it was likely Mi-chan. Deciding to greet them, L headed their way, waving at Jay as she tried to shake the water out of her hair. She turned to look at the officer as she reached them, knowing she was crossing some line but feeling something for the first time in days. "Wouldn't you like to know..."
  12. Heh, a crescent moon kick at the shoulder should do it.
  13. I've actually had two job interviews this week. Sweet, sweet prospects.

      Ren-kun

      You're gonna get em.

    2. Rukia Kurosaki

      Rukia Kurosaki

If getting 'em is not being hired, yeah I did xD It's that work paradox, they don't want to hire me because I have no experience, which I can't get because they won't hire me. I have another interview on monday, so hopefully I don't start a streak of failed interviews.

  14. Elli raised an eyebrow at Ari. Rap, huh? "Tch, I'm the opposite. I did choir for two years and I hate rap." She gave a dry chuckle, adding, "Listening to music helps me write." With another yawn she glanced around the terminal, waiting for the group to come together. If everyone wasn't there soon, she'd probably turn on her mp3 player and go off looking for DCW members. Without any landmarks, she'd end up lost if she wandered off, and at an airport you're not familiar with, that's not so great. "... hm." L grinned, the most excitable expression she'd worn all day, and fished a wrinkled paper bag out of her luggage. "I totally forgot my strawberry tart." She plunked down on the floor, ignoring the row of chairs, and popped the lid off her dessert, digging around in her bag for a plastic spoon. "Heh, it's a lucky day today I guess~"
  15. Elizabeth glanced at Ari, her face blank. "Yeah, though it depends on the metal. I don't do pure screamo, but I like Metallica." She paused, then glanced at Lily. A familiar song was coming from her phone. Under her breath she sang he first words, "I say... Hey, hey, hey start dash..." A small smile appeared on her face, and she turned back to Ari, looking oddly content. "I like pretty much all music."
  16. I must not have watched that one early enough in life. I seem to have no emotion xD That one didn't even spark anything. Or I'm just not human, which is totally likely xD As for a favorite, I'll stick with my choice from 2 years ago, Castle in the Sky is still my fave, though I don't much care for the green agenda in most of his movies... Kiki's Delivery Service is a favorite too~ And Tales from Earthsea, just for Cob's hilarious looking face when his magic wears off xD
  17. "Nah, it's fine. I'm Sparrow. Nice to meet you Yuki-chan." Elizabeth yawned and excused herself from the small group, heading to the restroom to wash her face and wake up a bit after the jet-lag. Humming under her breath, she passed a few people she figured were also from DCW, making a note to say hi later. After all, they weren't really strangers, so there was no harm in meeting everyone. When she'd splashed some water on her face she lingered near the water fountains, not really ready for a ton of interaction. She'd rather be writing or rp'ing than talking face to face as herself. But ah well... She glanced at the clusters of online personas, for the first time in contact outside of the DCW Community. It would've made for one hell of a fanfiction. With a chuckle she walked back, taking her time as she ambled along and quickly reading the signs she passed.
  18. Elli held her hands up and grinned awkwardly. "I wasn't gonna fight or anything... I just meant to say that's what happens... and I'm somewhat arthritic, so I crack my fingers a lot..." She laughed and tried not to look intimidating.
