Hex watched the girls go, her eyes changing. They glowed yellow as she looked at the ground. "I'll miss you two... I have ta let you go, so it may as well be while yer still happy an' young..." Her tail slowed, and out of sad habit touched the scars on the sides of her head. "Whatever you do, be happy!!" she shouted after them, letting the echo of the hall carry her words to the two girls. When the sound of her voice had faded away to a murmur and she could hear only the distant flapping of their wings, Hex turned to Sakila and Lionel. "Sorry I didn't tell you about my involvement in the escape plans... I didn't want anybody ta try an' torture info outta ya..." She swallowed the emotion left by the girls' departure and smiled at the other experiments. "I guess you two'll... wanna go back ta life as usual..." Her voice was soft and strained, and she grabbed a towel, wetting it from the sink and scrubbing the blood out of her hair. "Unless there's anythin' ya need ta know." She looked at them in question. "Saki? Lion?" And though she wondered where Jae was as well she settled for knowing that these four, these experiments, were alive, safe, and had something to strive for. "Do you two have anywhere ta stay? Er someone ta take care o' ya?"

I made my sig with gifs... Anybody know how to make it so they move again after being put into paint?
-
I don't think paint can save moving gifs. You probably need something more advanced.
-
Agreed with Chekhov. "Paint" is for static pictures. You'll need some GIF editing program to open a .gif file, edit it, and then save it back as the .gif file. I don't remember putting much time into editing GIFs, so unfortunately I can't really recommend you any program.
-
Darn... I'll have to find something then~
I'll work on that, then shall have le awesome signature~

((The infirmary at the safe house. Police are stationed there, and the workers are employed by them I figure we need a resolution now, since it ends soon)) Hex groaned and sat up. "Agh..." She blinked and looked around, then glanced up at the supposed nurse. "You freakin' shot me in the head!" The girl rubbed her head, wincing at the dark stain coming from her hair. "Damn..." Standing, she swayed and grabbed Vivi's sleeve. "Hey Vi... VI!" Uncharacteristically happy, she glomped the small girl, her fluffy tail wagging vigorously. "Yer okay!" She grinned at Lionel, adding, "Thanks!" Then, still hugging Vivi, she turned her attention back to the labcoat. "Oh yeah... Yer the last one, huh? You've been spreadin' false information ta the police, posin' as the chief, who ya killed yesterday..." She gave a signal with her left hand, and police officers flooded the room, including the one she'd spoken to. The traitor was pulled in tow, already handcuffed. "The last proof I needed was your attempt on my life. Ya posed the government attacks by spreading crap about the danger of us experiments. But how'd ya think ya'd ever catch those girls? I'm their protector, an' nothin's gonna protect you from me..." The nurse smiled, replying, "I never thought we would... but my successors will come for me. They will show no mercy to you creatures. They will slaughter your kind" "Tch, I can't die. Creepy, but m' cells won't let ya monsters do a thing." "And that makes you the biggest monster of all, 93. You shouldn't exist. But your mother interfered with your mutation. You should know that it's irreversible. You will never know the solace of death. You cannot grow any older, and you will watch everyone around you die. No matter ho long it takes, they will leave you one by one." Hex smiled, not fazed by her words, which were intended to change her. "I know. I've already accepted that. Anyway, some of 'em matter enough that I know I gotta let 'em go someday. So let's start. You leave me first, Assistant Director." The woman was led out, and Hex grinned, finally letting go of Vivi and wagging her tail. Everything was over. It was resolved. The wolf had never seemed so bright. She hugged Vivi and Lily, then Sakila, even sparing an excited hug for Lionel. "Ya know," she said, glancing at the sisters. "I've got land left ta me from my parents, a house 'n everythin'. I'm gettin' my job as an officer confirmed... I was actually workin' with 'em in secret the past couple years, Xero was my immediate superior... But, uh.... I am a legal adult at 18.... If you wanted..." Her cheeks turned pink, and her ears twitched. "I could, uh- adopt you girls as my, ya know, sisters, sort of..." She smiled and looked at the girls. "There's a yard, perfect for flyin' in~ Whattaya say?" Her tail wagged violently as she waited for an answer. ((We can add more after, but I don't want another twist 'everybody dies' ending. So let's consider the action over and get to the happy end~ ))

Hex gave an annoyed sigh and headed into the infirmary. A movie, Lion says this feels like... If this is what a movie is, I don't want to go to it, it sucks... Ignoring someone who tried to greet her she headed to the back room, where she took a change of clothes from a shelf of spare clothing and ducked into the bathroom. It took her a good ten minutes to scrub the blood out of her tail and off of her body, and she pulled on the clean clothes with a slight feeling of relief. There was no way Lionel would let Vivi get hurt, so she had a couple of minutes to finish cleaning herself up. Drying her ears, she checked her wounds and took a box of plain bandaids from the medicine cabinet, sticking one over each injury that was still open. When she ran out, the girl sighed and tossed the box in the garbage, taking the phone from her pocket and snapping it in half. Now the chief couldn't track her if she took Vivi and Lily somewhere safer, and she didn't have to worry about him calling anymore. Her tail wagging slightly, she exited the room, re-entering the infirmary. There were only a few people there even with the arrival of several reconnaissance guys who'd been involved in the earlier bout. "One last thing before I go catch up..." She went to the desk and smiled at the head nurse. "Hi, I'm Captain Hex, with the police... Um, we need to see the admittance records for this month." The woman stared at her over her wire-rimmed glasses. "I received notice that as of this afternoon, you are no longer associated with the police force. And you are to be detained on suspicion of treason." "Treason?! That ain't even a cause fer detainment! I got somebody ta take care of, so hand over the records." Her glare was cold as steel, and the woman blinked, but she shook her head. "It isn't just the treason, I'm afraid. You've killed government officers now... I'm sorry, ninety-three..." Hex took a step back at the mention of her experiment name. Her file hadn't been with those she'd found in the director's office. The police couldn't have seen it. Ninety-three.... That nurse wasn't an officer. She was with the labcoats! And if she wasn't mistaken, the chief was- Her arms were grabbed from behind and pinned against her back as she thrashed and tried to bite the person behind her. "You won't touch them!" she spat as the 'nurse' stood and took something from her desk. "Tch." Hex laughed, "Sorry, but tranqs don't work on me." "Oh, I know that." She gave a smile as she leveled the revolver at Hex's head and pulled the trigger. And I just got cleaned up... ((xD I couldn't think of how she'd try to detain a biologically immortal, chemical-immune wolf mutant xD So I guess shooting in the head is as close to knocked out as it gets. Since you guys are headed there, I figure the enemy can show itself so we can get the plot rolling xP))

Hex stopped short as the phone began to ring, snatching it from her pocket and flipping it open. Relieved, she panted, "Hey, Lion, I-" "Where the hell are you?" She frowned at his voice, which seemed to be coming from two places at once. Was he nearby? "Look we need ta save Vivi an'-" "Where are you??" he asked again. She looked around, trying to gauge her location in relation to the other ones, but she had no sense of direction. "..." "Hex where-" "I'm heading to the safe house!" she shouted as she jogged, wincing as one of the bullet holes closed itself. Lionel descended, and Hex glanced up at the sound of wings and a familiar voice. "Oi!" "Lion!" "What happened?" "The police have-" "What happened to you?" Hex stared at him, brow furrowed and eyes narrowed. Vivi might be captured, and he was asking if she was okay? Where were his priorities? "We need ta get to the safe house. Vivi an' that girl are in danger," she insisted, biting back her worry. "Fine! Lead the way, I haven't actually been to that place yet. They'll see me in the air." Hex smiled in relief and nodded, turning around to lead him through a maze of greenery to the safehouse. Her tail flicked behind her as she walked, but it didn't have the fluffy quality it normally did, since she hadn't bothered to clean herself up since her fights. Hex felt like an idiot when she realized Lionel had been concerned about her appearance. Her cheeks reddened in embarrassment. She wasn't a kid, she didn't need to make people worry... She turned back with a shrug as she walked, saying, "It's not near as bad as it looks. Jus' blood an' bullets, I don' think it's even all mine," she added with a fanged grin. "I did some damage ta them guys who were after Vi an' Lily earlier... but now I can't find 'em, an' this officer friend o' mine said the chief's trynna capture an experiment they think is too dangerous and keep it for testing. Vivi could easily be used as a weapon with 'er special properties... An' I ain't lettin' that happen. Nobody else is dyin' 'cause I didn't save 'em in time." She thought of her parents, and Xero... She could have done something, she could have found out what was going to happen and stopped it... And this time she would. Her eyes were set straight ahead in a determined glare as she entered the safe house, passing the guard and taking lionel to the first crossroad. "'ere we are, Lion."

The officer who hadn't spoken to Hex returned to his post guarding the entrance. It was none of his business whether the boss wanted one of the freaks caught. He was glad the weird girl would be detained, she creeped him out. What business did someone who was half wolf have in the police force anyway? It was wrong for her to exist. He'd heard that her blood made it impossible to kill her, and it was like acid... well, maybe not acid, but close enough. He frowned and sighed. He didn't even get to help with the operation, he was stuck protecting more freaks of nature from the humans who were after them. That was just ridiculous... but he had his orders. Vi... Where are you?! I won't let them hurt you... Once again Hex wished she had Xero to talk to. He'd know exactly how to protect Vivi and Lily. But he wasn't there, and he would never be again... She touched the scars beneath her silver hair and sighed. He's gone. The police have betrayed me. What am I supposed to do?! Clenching her fist, she slammed it against the wall she was walking by, leaving a gaping hole in the concrete. "Dammit!" She frowned and picked up her pace, running through the area and looking for the two girls. "Vi! Lily! If you're here, I need you to come out!" As she continued on with no response, Hex's heart raced and she glanced around in worry. Where could they have gone? After ten minutes of full-out running, she found herself out of breath and slowing down. When she stopped to catch her second wind, Hex took a cell phone from her pocket and looked at it for a minute. It had been given to her when she'd parted with the other experiments. It was programmed with two numbers: One was the police HQ, which she'd called many times, and the other was meant for use in emergencies... She figured this was one, and pressed the speed dial button. Holding the phone up to her wolf ears was difficult, but she'd had practice using the phone the day before. "C'mon Lion, pick up," she mumbled. When the ringback tone clicked off and the answering machine interrupted with its monotone commands, she gave an exasperated sigh and growled, "C'mon..." 'Please leave a message at the tone.' Duuuuu- "Oi, Lion, it's Hex. I need yer help with somethin'. I think Vivi may be in danger, and I need someone who can help me protect her. The police are no longer an option, and I can't find them." Hex coughed to dispel the strain in her voice. She wouldn't cry, either. "Er, please, get this message and come to the safehouse. You don't have to stay long, but I need someone to help me find her and Lily... Bye-" The flip phone closed with a clap, and she took a couple of deep breaths, preparing to run again. "Please be safe..."

No one did anything stupid at graduation. Maybe we were ready to leave high school xD

Hex turned away from the group she'd been following and hurried down the hall, knowing exactly where she needed to go. She'd been in contact with the police for several years, in accordance with the rescue plan she'd masterminded as a plan B for operation jailbreak. She'd become friends with a few officers in communication, and was delivering orders to the chief on the experiments' situation regularly. Within five minutes she found herself in the large, square room she sought, standing parallel to a frowning police officer. "What kept you, Hex? I've been waiting an hour. Your girls just got here and went to the infirmary." He looked her up and down, his face concerned. "Which might be a good idea for you as well-" "I'm fine. What's the situation with the scientists an' those militant forces?" The officer sighed and ran a hand through his black hair, glancing at the floor as though not making eye contact would prevent the news from reaching Hex. "The armed groups have been subdued, and the scientists arrested..." "But?" Hex's tone was more worried than impatient. "But, the chief has stopped following your orders. He's been talking with the militia... They decided that... y- one of the experiments is too dangerous to allow it to roam free." "it?" she spat. "No experiment is an IT! We're people, dammit!" The police officer bit his lip, trying to figure out how to explain himself. "Hex, he wants this... dangerous experiment 'disposed of.' He said to capture for testing, using as much force as necessary..." VI! No way that bastard's gonna lay a hand on her. "Wait!" he shouted as she ran off to find the girl, her ears flattened against her head and her eyes set in determination. What is she doing? I'm supposed to hide her! "It's you, dammit! Hex!" He put his hand to his face, thinking, but couldn't some up with anything. In the mean time he heard footsteps approach and a voice called out to him. "You'll get yourself in trouble, talking to suspects like that." He frowned and snapped, "She's not a suspect, she's a target for the chief's ideas. And you know that." "Whatever, just be careful he doesn't hear you saying such things, or you may be the next 'suspect' we dispose of..."

Cool~ Thanks Al. So far I've only got one entry from DA, not expecting much of it style-wise. -
(Hex isn't with the girls. She stayed behind to fight.) "Dammit!" Hex spat the curse as she spun, firing off two rounds without using her scope. A bullet had streaked past, grazing her hand, and she wasn't in the mood for it. "Alright, let's take this seriously," she mumbled, locking her aim on the row of men on the crest of the only hill in sight, letting out her breath and gazing through the scope. Ready for the shot, her finger entered the trigger guard, and she pulled three times rapidly, shifting the weapon to hit each man in the torso, close to the heart. Even if the shot didn't kill them, the destructive properties of the blood would. The girl had been careful, but was still marked with a few bullets and several dozen pieces of shot. After firing off every round in her two rifles, Hex discarded the spent casings and surveyed the damage. A few stragglers were still alive, but she'd managed to knock off most of them with the volatile substance soaking her bullets... Now she was scared. What would happen if she dripped blood onto an ally? If there was an open wound, it was possible she would kill them... . There had been countless experiments done to test her dna sequence, and there was no way to reverse the process, or to kill her permanently. Even if she was killed and parts of her body were destroyed, she still managed to reassemble herself. It was terrifying and disgusting, but it had been tested... So she couldn't protect anyone from herself. Should I even go near the safehouse? I'm nothing but a danger to them even if it turns out the experiments are immune to the effect, I could never be near any humans... With a torn sigh she tugged at her short silver hair, slinging the empty rifles over her shoulder and carrying them along as bludgeons in case she ran into more enemies. Careful to give no hint of her path, she wove through the brush, a hand on the barrel of one rifle in case she needed it, but otherwise trying to relax her body and let it heal. Tensing only made it more painful, and she really wasn't in the mood for that just then. Feeling sluggish as her body repaired itself and she stumbled along. When she reached the safehouse, she hesitated. She hadn't seen or heard anyone, which meant no one was around... but she still felt that she shouldn't go. Ignoring her instinct for once with a sigh, she trudged on, knowing she had to be sure the others were safe. Hex was eye-catchingly blood-soaked, and looked like hell, but she figured it couldn't all have been her own blood anyway. Even her tail was matted with clotted red, and she flicked it half-heartedly, dismayed that it was feeling heavy and gross. Guess I'll go inside, just to check on them and get cleaned up... Having decided, she ducked into the passageway and headed through the tunnels, making the jumps and turns until she reached a hall that held the scent of familiar experiments. She followed the sound of footsteps for a while before she caught up with anyone, and when she did, Hex merely followed, not wanting to disturb the progress they were making through the area... Though there appeared to be several strangers in with the younger experiments... and one strange smell she couldn't quite... "Frankencoat!?" she blurted out, staring at the man walking in front of her. "AH! Sorry!" Her ears flattened in embarrassment, and she laughed awkwardly and flicked her tail as the others turned to look at her. "Uh... hey guys."
-
Hex sighed, about to give in to Vivi's request. But after a moment she took the cloak and draped it over the smaller girl's shoulders. "No. It's okay. You two go. Fly if you must, but get way from here. Two miles from here I have a safehouse set up with the police from the Habitat, we were planning on bringing everyone after operation jailbreak, but Xero wasn't able to complete it. If you can get there, get in, stay hidden until I come for you. I can take care of a little gunfire." She smiled, wiping blood from her cheek. "With my fur, I'm a good, eye-catching distraction, right?" She hadn't told any of the other experiments about her scientific immortality, but she figured from the witnessing of her regeneration they would understand what she meant when she said, "I'll be fine." The only issue was how long it would take to heal. She'd had worse injuries than what these weapons could inflict, experiments done solely to see how much she could survive. It was terrifying to know, but she could not be killed. No matter how much she wanted to die, she wouldn't age, could not stop her cells from living. Her body, her blood was indestructible. And it destroyed anything they came into contact wi- "I've got an idea!" She grinned and pushed the two girls away from the sound of guns and artillery, yelling, "Go!" Then she emptied the rifles, taking the bullets and soaking them in her blood, which luckily was plentiful. As she reloaded the weapons, she allowed her self a smirk, leveling it at the first man in the scope. "Guaranteed one shot fatality, guys..."

Even from her path through the wooded area, Hex heard the startled whispers of those she passed as they stared after her, rapt with the sight of her silver hair, tail and ears as she ambled on with no goal or purpose. She'd flattened her ears to her head to try and block out the sound of society's rejection when she heard a faint crack in the distance. As they perked up, she caught more noises. Gunfire! Hex raced through the brush, knowing there was no shooting range nearby, and ignored the branches and brambles that snatched at her clothes and scraped her skin. By the time she was clear of the woods and could see the fence, enough brambles were stuck in her tail to make it appear an organic, fluffy morning star. She spotted Vivi and Lily, the latter falling as her twin dodged bullets left and right. Her eyes glowed yellow as she hauled herself over the fence and was cast into the chaos of the gunfire, barely managing to catch a glimpse of the fallen owl before a bullet tore through her leg. The wolf stood protectively, growling at the enemies and daring them to attack her, not the owl. She didn't cry out. She didn't try to dodge any bullets that came toward her. But she threw herself at any man who raised a weapon against her fellow experiments, tackling and taking them down one by one. By the time she'd brought down enough to make the others pause, Hex was holding a rifle in each hand and raised her head to glare with golden eyes at the few who remained. Her body was riddled with holes, and blood seeped through her meager clothing, staining her hair and dripping from her lips. "Put them down," she commanded, pointing with the firearms as wounds began to suture themselves. They obeyed, and she demanded each one leave within 60 seconds, after which she could not guarantee their lives. They paused. "One." As the terrified men ran off, she chased after the two girls. "Are you alright?" she asked when she was near enough for them to hear.

I'm working on my first manga series. However, I'm also just graduating and getting a full time job, writing my books, and trying to get into musical theater and voice acting. It turns out I don't have the time on my hands to learn more drawing technique, practice, and full out make the manga. I'm looking for an artist or artists who can portray shoujo-ish style professionally, expressions backgrounds, poses and all, to collaborate with. I know DCW, so i figure you guys will be the best place to look for an artist. I will provide samples of costume design, character design, etc, as well as all scripts from which the panels should be drawn. I would like submissions of your original style from anyone who thinks they're up for it. A warning, this is a serious project meant for publication as a series. Submit samples of style, background, and posing ONLY if you're willing to take on this as a job. If accepted as the official artist you will receive commission and a percentage pay from the publication profits, plus guaranteed work in any later series. Again, this is extremely serious and likely time-consuming. Also probably unrealistic to hope for xP Thanks guys~ L

Hex set down the file and gave a sigh. She supposed with no relatives she'd end up with the rest of the experiments who stayed behind, even though she was already 18. She stood and noticed quite a few people walking away. Among them were Sakila and Vivi... "Bye," she mumbled, wondering if they were headed off on their own. Now she was alone again... She hated that as much as the times of testing. Especially when she was healing alone... She convinced herself that she had the others at least, and that comforted her for a while. She spoke with one of the officers, who told her she could technically not be adopted, nor could she stay in a foster home for children. But she had no one, no property, just her name... With a slight nod she turned away, running a hand through her short silver hair. "Now what...?" She thought for a while, and decided she'd join the police force. She was in good shape, and her alterations could only help her in that respect. But she'd have to work on getting approval and money for the schooling. She'd talk to the police again later, when they interviewed her on the director for the records. ((I just remembered Al keeps getting left out and behind xD I'm bored and left too, so here's some non-fight interaction)) Hex spotted a familiar experiment sitting alone on the sidewalk, the only of the group she knew to have remained. Her tail wagged a bit, and she manually stopped its motion, not wanting to appear desperate for company from another experiment. "Oi, Lion!" she called, walking over to him and poking him in the wing. "You alright? They're loadin' up the cars ta take the little ones for health tests and to the homes. You goin'?" To be honest, she wasn't sure how old Lionel was. She figured he was at least old enough for the teen house, but not so old that he would be left behind.
-
Xero... he was the father we needed here. Hex was rifling through a stack of papers in the Director's desk, looking for the records of the children he'd had abducted for his experiments. A series of large files labeled, "Burn" piqued her interest, and she flipped one open to a random page, finding a record of an experiment, she checked the next. And after that the following file... There was a detailed report on everyone who had been involved. She scanned each file and removed one she had to keep, then took the others outside to the police. After handing over the papers and explaining them, she sank onto the sidewalk, opening the file she'd kept. As she read, she heard Sakila, Vivi, Lionel, and one other exit the building. But she didn't look up. She was absorbed in the file she'd taken. "Clara Erinson- Came to us a housewife with a medical degree and in need of work. We obliged, and allowed her to join our testing facility. She appears a bit naive, and shows remorse for number 12 after her tests, but that can be tended to. Promote to full employment? YES." Hex scanned the pages, looking for the very information she was dreading. "There was an interesting development today in the experimentation on one of our numbered experiments. 93 was sent for grafting after mutagens failed to produce the ears we planned on giving it. Erinson was again the foremost researcher for this treatment, and she dodged the questions given, refusing to take the surgical procedure we suggested. Instead we had 93's human ears removed on the spot, hoping to speed up the mutation by egging on the cells. Again, 93 and Erinson have proven interesting. 93's cells are now regenerating, and it has no reaction to the mutagens or poisons we test. Two toes have grown themselves back, and three bullet wounds have healed themselves. Erinson was against testing the properties of the blood, dismissing it as unimportant next to the new blood type exhibited by a few earlier experiments. We looked into Erinson's background to justify her favoritism and distance. Erinson is listed as the biological mother of 93. When we confronted her, she denied the relation, and we brought in her husband to verify it. When both finally admitted to being biologically related, we tested their blood for the mutations in 93's. They were not providers of any dysfunction in its cells. But they both had to be removed. 93's blood proved sufficient as a destructive agent. It turns out that it kills poisons and the cells of unfamiliar hosts, even in the same bloodline." There was a stamp on the last page of the file, and Hex stared at the wavering image as tears threatened to drip onto the paper. "DISMISSED." As though she'd been fired, and not murdered alongside her husband. Now Hex was free, she could be herself again. Her name was Hildegarde Erinson... She had had a family, a father who took care of her... But that was gone. The last name would be replaced by another, the father had been replaced by Xero, the mother for a while by herself as she watched over her in experimentation... But now they were gone as well. Now she carried the DNA of a Grey Wolf and couldn't die. Now she could watch over the other experiments, her true family. Now... Her name was Hex. ((Hex is moving on~ xP))
-
Hex glanced at Sakila, then at Lionel, who was still sitting and drinking from the waterskin. "Nothin's wrong." She watched the police barrier inch closer, the officers unsure if they could approach without resistance from the scientists. There were none in sight. "I gotta go back in. Xero's in there, an' Vivi. An' I gotta get Doc Jae too..." He saved Lionel's life... She walked past Sakila and patted her on the shoulder. "Take care of Lion for me." Turning back, she added, "By the way, the director is dead. I heard a gunshot and he can't be sensed. The police are plannin' on putting us in some foster 'ome, lettin' us older ones take care o' the little kids an' havin' folks come to take us home, adoption if our parents aren't... around." The wolf smiled at Sakila, then ducked back into the building. "Xero! Jae! Vivi! We gotta get the experiments out! Police are here! They know everything!" She added, for Jae's benifit, "I told 'em you were with us, Doc!" She sprinted past a couple of frantic experiments headed to the exit and found herself in the director's office. The man was lying on the floor, but she totally ignored the body. He no longer mattered. This is where he would have activated anything to 'cleanse' the place. She checked the wiring and felt along the keyboard in his desk. The bastard didn't get to start it! With a sigh of relief she chewed through the wires connecting the board to the security system, for once glad of her teeth. Every electronic cage and door hissed open, revealing to the outside world the creations of the true monster who had forced the habitat and mutations on countless children. Hex did activate one switch, which brought the walls down in a single motion, dropping them into the deep canals the self destruct system had meant to catch debris. Now sunlight touched the face of every being of the Habitat, and Hex finally gave a smile. She spotted Jae, and Vivi with someone who looked oddly like her. All three were headed to the 'outside', which was now milling with the remaining experiments. Everyone was alive. She waved to Sakila and Lionel, calling, "'ey! Is that everybody?" She stayed where she was in the office and glanced around, making sure no stragglers would be left behind as police began loading experiments, youngest first, into vans labeled with the name of the operation and foster home.
-
Hex cursed under her breath and kicked out the door to the outside. Ignoring her first steps into sunlight she dragged the swift a few yards and knelt on the sidewalk. She took the waterskin from her pocket, unscrewing the cap, then set Lionel down gently and profferred the drink. "'ere, drink up." She glanced back at the building, urging him to drink the water. 'I have to get back in there an' save Vivi, Sakila an' Xero! ' Or, her mind suggested, you could get in the control room, destroy it, and shut the building down. It would disarm any security measures and prevent this collapse you heard about. You could save everyone at once. And your regeneration would keep you safe. You can't die. 'Yes, but who knows how long it would take to heal. It's painful and could take weeks. And if no one knew where I was I'd have to dig my way out once it healed. It's risky. I wouldn't make it out in time to save the others if the labcoats attacked with their own weapons... But it may be worth it.' "'ey, Lion? You be okay 'ere if I head back in an' take care o' some stuff?" she asked, trying not to let worry touch her voice.
-
Hex had ducked out of sight when Jae appeared amidst the destruction and chaos, watching the man as he tended to the swift. She was puzzled by his apparent change since she'd last confronted him, and waited until he was out of sight before kneeling next to Lionel. "Hey..." She shook his shoulder, wishing her blood could transfer her regenerative power instead of toxicity. "Lionel, you a'right?" His side looked okay though, and it appeared that he'd been given first aid. Frankencoat? Her ears perked up at the sound of voices: "THIS IS THE POLICE! WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED!" In a minute there was another voice from a few rooms away: "Release the security measures and destroy everything." "Shit!" She grabbed Lionel and dragged him up, hauling him out of the room and toward where she believed was an exit. No one else from that room was alive, and she cursed again under her breath. She'd have to get him out, then come back for the others.

Hex listened... there was nothing. No one was out in the habitat. It was eerily quiet with not even the breaths of experiments to hear. She ducked out of her hiding place, assuming all the labcoats were in the place they were keeping the other experiments. Xero, Lionel, Vivi, Sakila... I'll find you guys... She sprinted across the habitat, testing the doors and vents for an insecure area she could use. Finally, after running the circuit twice, she gave up on simplicity and tore the cover of a vent from the wall, screws and all. Reattaching it roughly as she climbed in, she squeezed through and into a maze of air conditioning ventilation. Hex crawled on hands and knees for roughly 30 minutes before she found herself at the entrance to a ground level vent in a room from which she heard the sounds of experiments, huddled in cages, some frightened and some rebellious. There were no labcoats within several minutes of walking, and she didn't sense more than lingering discord either, so there didn't appear to be a reason for them to come back. In fact, it sounded and smelled like one had just left. As quietly as she could, the grey wolf removed the cover, laying it down so that she could easily duck in and close it if she was found out. She crawled out and stood, stretching her cramped limbs and wagging her tail a bit. Tiptoeing over to the cages, she looked into each one carefully. Only a few appeared to be inhabited, but she quickly found one of the ones she was looking for. She had planned on mapping out in her mind where each experiment was and finding a way to release all of them. But if she could find the doors that led outside and incapacitate the labcoats for a time... she could traffic them out and into the world they wanted. She smiled and tapped her index finger on a bar of the cage. "Hey... Lionel!" she whisper-shouted. "You okay?" ((Vivi's out, Sakila's out, I don't recall who controls Xero... not much choice of people to find is there? xD He needs more interaction anyway~ I hope Al can respond as Lionel))

Hex bit her lip as she heard the sound of another jeep starting at the edge of the habitat, likely the cleanup crew for the mess the fight had made. She ducked into a clear forest area and started running, skirting around the edge of the wood and listening closely so she wouldn't be surprised by the appearance of labcoats. The girl took a deep breath and looked back after a few minutes; There was no trace that she'd come through, and no sign of cameras or people in this area. Hunkering down within a tree's twisted roots she hid in the hollow she'd made months ago, moving the outer bark before her so that she was effectively invisible. Now began the observation. She listened as hard as she could for the sounds of the people of the habitat, experiment and labcoat, noting where they were going and what they said. Now she knew where a group of the experiments would be taken... She just had to wait for an opportunity to go there and break them out. If she could enhance what mutation she had, her immunity and regeneration would make her nearly invincible... but she didn't know if she would have control of herself.

Hex felt clumsy and out of place in the battle, as she was the only experiment who couldn't fully turn. She cursed her failed mutation and sent a roundhouse kick at a scientist, chomping down on the arm of another and grabbing it to throw them into a third. As the gas leaked into the room, Hex sighed. Both experiments and labcoats were dropping to the ground... But she was immune to poisons and chemicals. Hex redoubled her efforts, bringing down a few scientists before it appeared that they'd all been knocked out by either the gas or experiments... But all the experiments were out too. She hesitated, wondering what course of action she should take..She could hide and see what the labcoats' plan was, or stay and help few of the others get away. ((Misaki, I don't know if you want all the experiments captured at this point. Should she be left behind and hide or end up dragged off somehow? I forgot before the gas wouldn't affect her...))

Hex's ears were standing up straight, and she had gone from staring at the ground lost in her depressing memories to scanning the horizon like a sentry. "This isn't good..." She glanced at Sakila, adding, "That labcoat from earlier... he took Vivi and did his experiment. Now that it's succeeded... It makes no sense." "What does?" Sakila asked. Hex's cryptic partial sentences weren't very clear. Hex looked at the girl, worry in her normally blank grey eyes. "Why is he sending the jeeps here?"
