Yes, it is but our government only care about profit, commercial balance and such things. There are, of course, some legislators that are fair and try to do something but it's a negociation, they must offer something to the others if they want to pass their bill. Also, to make this even more complicated, people here rarely fight for something.
-
That's really a sad news. Why wouldn't your government make a move to get this known to the people so they could help? That's unfair.
-
there are no interest to let people know about it so, there are no news about it, there are no information about it and, if people don`t know the problem, they can't try to solve it.
So, it's complicated. We have 7 big horse slaughterhouses here and most brazilians doesn`t even know it exists. Some of our slaughterhouses are managed by uruguayan companies

What if I tell you that Brazilian government is proud that Brazil is a big exporter of many kinds of meat (including horse meat)?
To create a bill here we must prove to the lesgislators that creating the bill and supoorting it will raise votes for them but there is another problem; most people here are against horse slaughter but since our horse meat production is fot export purposes, there

btw, I thought all brazilians are models, 'cause there are brazilians here in our country are ALL models. ANYWAY, I really feel sorry for what's happening there right now. Why not try to seek help from your government? They might be able to coordinate with the nearby countries. But I somehow have my doubts...

Well, saddly not all veterinarians really care about their patients, also you I must say that I'm not from U.S. I'm brazilian and here this situation is terrible. But yes, there are friends of mine that care about horses too and we are trying to find the best way to help horses. But I plan to act worldwide for this afterall, we must pursuit our dreams otherwise they cannot come true.

WOOOOW. O_____+
You're REALLY serious about this, aren't you? Well, uh.. I haven't thought about that, but by the time that you've finally decided to make an organization that protects horses, I'll always be here to help. btw, why don't you seek help from your fellow horse surgeons to help you with this?
-
but you can be sure that I'll always do my best for this wonderful specie that gives me a reason to live.

put more value to my speechs and maybe then, when people would listen when I talk about this issue and change minds or, if already against horse slaughter, try to join forces and help ending this terrible thing.
But I'm still uncertain about what is the best thing to do. I think a lot about it but I still don't have the answer.
-
Well, I still don't know certainly about the future but sometimes I mean, I have money to spend but I still don't know the best way to use it, for example, sometimes I think ebout opening a horse rescue place, other times I think that I would continue my academic carrer (doctorate, post-docorate, researches, writing papers, articles and try to develop something new) and then, people would

Yes, it is possible. I believe so. If we could only ask each and everyone to care for horses.. but it'll be really hard to please people. *sighs*
IDK.. You need not to worry. I'm willing to delete your double posts. ^^

I see, I try my best to make the world a better place for horses, I know it's hard to fight and I know it demands lots of time but I believe it to be possible.
Is there a way here to talk as in an instant messenger?

And when I see some modern barouches passing by, you just don't know how much I'm trying to fight the urge to steal away the horses from their riders. And the amusement in my eyes when I see them is really.. priceless. I mean, if anybody would catch me looking at a horse, he could easily tell that I have this certain affection towards that lovely beast.

Yeah, me too. :'< I've watched a film that features the horses' lives in slaughterhouses, and it broke my heart so much to see them being killed that I really cried a lot. You know, some people just don't really care about animals, and I'm glad that I've met someone who adores horses as much as I do.
