I think some of these are cultural things. She does have a habit of wearing short skirts, and while that is fashionable where she lives, I'm sure other parts of the world think a woman showing any leg makes her a prostitute. I remember in October of 2010, it was a particularly warm day after work, and I wore a short skirt and somewhat low heels in the city. I had people gawking at me like I was walking down the street in a bikini. It was pretty warm out, I still don't understand what the problem was. How exactly does she dress like an old lady?

IRL, the older people I know are mostly staunchly right wing, so if the "older" people in the fandom were 35+, it might be swing the other way. I guess since it's never going to end, let's find out in 10 years! (lololol just kidding, I'm not a post war baby so it really depends on your upbringing) Now if you'll excuse me, me and my old lady walker need to go to bed. (it's 2 PM)

I hate daylight savings. It's so outdated and arbitrary.

Is anyone else a fan? They're a metal/rock band out of Tokyo. The lead singer is famed Sera Myu/Moon Lips actress and singer Anza, and her voice is amazing. They're next gig is a concert in Tokyo, but then they're going to Tennessee to play at MTAC. I just got an invitation on Facebook (I watch their amazing bassist, Narumi on there), to a show in NYC that hasn't been added yet to the official website. NYC is pretty close for me, so ommggg

I'm not a huge fan of the goofy aspects, but I still enjoy it. The serious past it has? omg. Also I'm forever in love with Sano.

As much as I rag on the plot problems in HP, I literally cannot understand what SMeyers is saying with her sentences.

Haibara, if Gin knows you by a single strand of hair, why are you not dying it? Also it's called a new hairstyle. :U

While true, it's not exactly permanent. I mean, he did show her the hair he found in that room before he shot her (and didn't he mention the one in his car?) and tell her that's how he knew she was alive. (creeeepy)

I agree. Why won't Haibara dye her hair black and grow it long and straight? Gin'll never know.

Who's better off with Shinichi? Haibara Ai or Ran??
MadelineLime replied to Chianti's topic in General
I don't like it when people try and purposefully look for tiny things that have no relevance or are only there, as Kyuu said, for trolling us, as some verification for shipping. I really don't care if people ship things on their own, but I hate it when people try and screw with canon, to make it canon just because they don't like certain characters or like others better. I mean the question itself. "Who is better off with Shinichi" vs compatibility. They don't mean the same thing, and they are being treated as if they do in this thread. To be honest, I think both Haibara and Ran would be better of without Shinichi in a romantic sense. His past actions tend to not speak highly of him being very good boyfriend material. As for Ayumi... I can understand why she's crushing on him, but he's very much not actually 7. D: D: D: They're all compatible with him, though. I do want to point out that we don't see too much of the daily stuff with Shinichi and Ran from before the plot started, and I think that kills a lot of their development together. I can understand why some people feel it's forced. We're supposed to just go with it. -

Yes, it has little to do with relationships, however it's a great example of a stark contrast in how everyone in here is completely misusing the word. I wasn't aware that a discussion about a character's relationship choices had nothing to do with him. My bad. -

That completely negates Shinichi's opinion and choices he has already made. It destroys his character and development. Besides, compatibility and "who is better off with..." aren't exactly the same thing. :\ It's kinda like how the compatibility of my resume and a crummy retail job is great, but I'm better off not working retail. -

I am actually quite shocked this is even being debated. How is anyone questioning that Shinichi is trying to get his life back, and that includes getting back to Ran? How many times do we need him to say "Please wait for me, Ran..." before this sinks in? -
This is the first time I'm seeing this topic, but anyway. Kyuu hit it right on the head there. Shinichi is very arrogant and surprisingly undeveloped for a lead character that is going on this long.* Sure, we see things from his perspective sometimes, even hearing his annoyed comments, but we quite often don't know what he is thinking or the thought process, all in the name of creating suspense. It's a huge flaw in the series, as it flounders on wanting you to solve cases on your own by giving you all the clues, and then the next case you won't see the omg amazing clue Conan sees, thus robbing you of the chance of making the same deduction. The whole Akai thing? How long of a conversation exactly did we miss between them and Kir? I hate it when a series hides things to create drama later. I'm watching because I want to see everything relevant to the plot. :| The reveal in Detective Conan has a tendency to take far too long a lot of times, mostly in regards to BO stuff, but still. *Aside from his love of Sherlock, soccer, crimes, and somewhat genial yet standoffish personality, I feel like I don't know anything about him. Besides having been his age, I find it's hard to relate to him, and I was always a lover of books and knowledge.

Really? That's not their target audience, right?

I'm rewatching the episode where Haibara is introduced.
2 hour special, oh yess

I hate using the term slutty, as it's used to try and regulate a woman's sex life and degrade her as such (and most women are called slutty for reasons that have zilch to do with sex), but Jodie does have a very questionable fashion sense sometimes by wearing these plunging necklines (yes I know this is a bathrobe but I couldn't find the other shirt):
