the episodes involving cases happened far away from tokyo. if my memory serves, such episodes initiated from 2002. by the end of each calendar year, they make some AO's where the stories take place in popular view spots in japan. the latest ones were eps 640-641 about an amnesiac lady

some of the episodes are all-around funny but they may not catch so much spotlight. eg: ep 276 when takagi lost his notebook ep 445 when kogoro has to figure out some "girlish text" with a cat
