Are most of the place names (towns, streets, rivers, buildings, etc.) actual places in Japan, or are many fictional?
I'm watching the Chinese version, so it's sometimes hard to tell. Usually the kanji are the same as the hanzi in Chinese, but sometimes there are simplified character issues or use of different characters.
For example, it appears that 川 is 'river' in names of rivers in Japan. Although it's the same in Chinese, it's old and not used very much--河 or 江 are usually used (although 川 is the 'chuan' in Sichuan province).
Currently, I'm watching episode #128 (#133 in Chinese version), The Black Organization: One Billion Yen Robbery Case. The getaway car is dumped at a river called 弟愤河 (弟憤川 ?), but I don't find anything like this on the internet. Is there such a river around Tokyo, and is it written differently?
