  1. Ever since FUNimation launched its new website (about two years ago already), I've been looking for a new CC forum to call home, and in all this time I haven't been able to find one. I would have used this site right from the get-go, but unfortunately this website only has sections for the original series fan. I, and many others, only follow the English releases. We do not like spoilers, and your site has plenty of 'em. Would it be possible to create a Case Closed only section? So we English fans can talk about the latest volume, etc. in peace? The sub-forum could be organized as such: General Anime Manga
  2. Logged into my yahoo account and noticed all these messages. Thought it was something really important. ;)

Nevertheless, thanks for the comments, everyone.

  3. I think y'all are confused? The 15th Anniversary Movie Guide is a magazine that will showcase story guides, model sheets, color pictures of movies eleven through fifteen. http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Reference_Books The link will show you the first two Anniversary guides. They were released in May, 2001 and April, 2006. Each book came out within a few weeks of the fifth and tenth movie premiere. Since it's almost August, and the fifteen movie came out in April, I'm wondering why the book hasn't come out yet.
  4. Where is it? I'm looking to put this is my collection, but it doesn't seem to have been released yet. Anybody know why?
  5. Probably because I joined two years before you did. ;)

I don't think I will be doing much posting around since this is mainly a original version forum, but I may log in every now and then; especially if I start reading scans.

    Anyways, thanks for the welcome.

  6. You're not lucky for finding the volumes for cheap, you're lucky for knowing Japanese! If I knew Japanese, I'd have all 72 volumes. Since I don't know Japanese, I don't want to spend a lot of money getting them here just to spend more money and time making it so I can understand them. Well, I finally decided to act on this idea after saying it for so long. I ordered volume one of the original, and got out my scotch tape, computer paper, pencil and scissors. LOL. It didn't go so well. Mainly because it takes so long and looks very ugly. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be reading scans after volume 39 comes in the mail (Rightstuf); I have an addictive personality so I imagine my back will be hurting in a week from sitting on this chair for so long. I'll probably run thru five volumes in one day. :-?. I'll be sure to continue supporting the English releases, though.
  7. You can find Japanese volumes everywhere, and they're usually dirt cheap. It's the shipping that kills you. A while back, I added 30-40 volumes to CDJapan's cart just to see how much it would cost. It was $200, which is awesome, but then it was another $200 to ship it! However, finding a place to buy the volumes is not my main concern. $200-400 over a year or two is no problem, I guess. The main problem is finding a method to do this cheap and easily. That's where y'all come in... hopefully.

Unfortunately, I believe no one is translating the later volumes of Kindaichi. I recently bought the first three volumes, and let me say, they are incredible rare. It took me forever, but I finally found the first volume for $20; I've seen people sell them for over a 100. It's a excellent series, but I definitely wouldn't recommended pursing the manga. They're very rare, expensive and stops at volume 17, so if you don't know Japanese, you're pretty much screwed.
  9. It's not that I hate English scans because I think their inconvenient or inaccurate, I just like having a book in front of me. Plus, I love this series, so supporting it by buying official releases is mandatory in my world. Still looking for ideas. Does everyone here, who does not know Japanese, read the scans? Their must be someone that has done something like this in the past!
  10. I hate reading scans, I don't know Japanese and I'm tired of the slow English releases, so... Does anyone buy and translate the Detective Conan (Japanese) volumes for their viewing pleasure? Translate as in pasting English over the the Japanese text in the manga (using paper). I ask because I'm going to try and do such a project, but I need some help/ideas. I'm thinking about using glue as the adhesive, but that could cause damage, and tape would make this project far more expensive. Anybody have ideas that could make this work? Also, where's a good website to buy the Japanese volumes? I already know of CdJapan, Yesasia, and a few others. Looking for cheap international shipping.
  11. I'm on FUNimation's board alot (under the same username), among few other boards. Yea, I understand your dilemma: getting members to join and then post is one pain in the ass. I probably won't be the most active person on here (as FUNi's board is pretty much the best place for CC discussion), but I'll stop by every now and then to check up and browse the discussions... hopefully a few will pop up. ... But I wish you the best of luck.
  12. Wishing there was a season 6 set right about now. Hello fellow DC fans! Was just messing around with Google and stumbled upon this here nice website/forum. Thought I'd register to show some support and to, of course, talk about DC. I am 18 years young, and have been watching Case Closed since it aired on Adult Swim in 2004. Since then... I have bought all available season sets and movies; I've also have created a CC forum (only got 25 or so members before I deleted it) and have joined several too. That about does it for my Introduction - hope to you'll around.
