debating whether to move this to "anime" or "news".... I'm thinking news
-
Do you think more people know of Conan's identity than we are told?
Southpaw replied to Detective Kudo's topic in General
two things: first of all, as has been stated, none of those are strictly canon, and second I hate to burst your bubble on the Lupin thing, but by the way... I think there's already a thread discussing who knows Conan's identity -
I'm currently watching: Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 Goshiku (commonly listed as Gosick) Cardfight Vanguard Bakuman Yumekui Merry of course, I'm keeping up with new episodes of DC as well my "watching" list changes every season now, as stuff finishes and new shows start... but I often try to add something that's finished that I haven't gotten to (right now I'm a little too busy for that, though ;;; )
-
guys... it's okay to type urls, but don't turn them into links! we don't want to tie ourselves to any video sources, lest we get in trouble again, or worse get them in trouble! on a side note, I also like anilinkz. net
-
"prefer" always implies comparison... if you're saying you prefer to like someone, you're saying that you choose them over someone else, or that you're more interested in liking them than disliking them and of course, some of the rules you guys are stating have tons of exceptions... it seems like there are often more exceptions in English than examples that follow the rule (aside from the example I listed at the top of my post - that one's pretty much always true)
-
I have a lot that I listen to frequently, but gendou doesn't carry them, so it's harder for me to get them than ones for other series
-
there's a difference between poor quality and localization... if you want to point to poor quality, look at the stuff that's been fan-translated from Chinese
-
the DVD's will allow you to watch with Japanese dialogue and English subtitles... the difference is that some of the video is switched around, like the ending segment before the closing theme instead of after... and the editing is even more painfully obvious on the movies
-
ah... this would be a good reason to support your local convention(s)... I was at Ohayocon last weekend, and people had some DC discs... no movies, but I definitely saw season boxes, and a few random discs from the initial release
-
typically, it ends up being the one who had the alibi... but I'm not sure I have enough information to make a definitive guess also, it amuses me that you named the victim Simon Baker, since the real Mr Baker is in fact an Australian actor
-
it's been pointed out that Aoyama-sensei draws whatever season is outside his window... so even though the series appears to go through a passage of time, the actual rate is just an illusion
-
sorry for the belated welcome, I was away for the weekend ;;;;;
-
I think 5 posts is too low of a threshold.... most people would probably make at least that many on their first day
-
please don't include links to fan-translated resources

Last night, the DCW channel on IRC went live! We are in #detectiveconan on irc.rizon.net The following are instructions for using three common IRC clients: windows users: for mIRC http://www.mirc.com/ when starting up mIRC, there will be a "connect" dialogue box... enter your user info and tell it the server is called irc.rizon.net after connecting, a window that says "mIRC Favorites" will pop up... type in #detectiveconan in the first field, and click "join" for IceChat http://www.icechat.net/site/ when starting up IceChat, there's a panel to the left of the window that says "Favorite Servers"... if irc.rizon.net is not listed, click "add new" and type it in manually. It may or may not allow you to set your nickname from here (I don't remember)... if not, there's a button that says "nickname" that ought to allow you to do it after connecting, type in /join #detectiveconan mac users: for colloquy http://colloquy.info/ when starting up colloquy, click on "file" - "new connection"... enter your nickname, and tell it the server is irc.rizon.net if you choose to show details, there's a space further down where you can add a room to join. click on the "+" and type #detectiveconan there are other clients available, including ones inside IM clients like trillian and adium... they all basically behave the same. If you find you're having problems, either post here or send a private message to someone who seems to know what they're doing PS. my name on rizon is KudoRan ...I tried getting Southpaw, but it was taken, and I'm not a fan of adding superfluous characters to my name

I think there's already a thread about this somewhere

What Do You Guys Think About an IRC Channel?

"e" has a hard "a" sound, like in the word "cake"

seeing that the purpose of this thread seems to be resolved, I move to close it if someone sees a good reason for re-opening it, please send me a private message

What Do You Guys Think About an IRC Channel?
Southpaw replied to CarpetCrawler's topic in News and updates
I tried using "Southpaw" for a while, and thought I had it registered, but then someone took it... I haven't tried adding anything... but I'm kinda partial to not lowering myself to that level my current name on rizon is "KudoRan" ;;;;;; -
What Do You Guys Think About an IRC Channel?
Southpaw replied to CarpetCrawler's topic in News and updates
since everyone seems to think this is a good idea, I'm gonna go ahead and pick an existing server to initiate a room... I think most of the big groups are on rizon, but I ended up having to register a name other than Southpaw, so I don't think it'll be that one. I'll post more info when I choose one -
I wouldn't say master, since it's been a while since the last time I worked on it and only a few stuck with me... but level 30 is I think out of 100 or so (or more ) ... I guess you can add me to the list, although I don't really intend to put any more effort into this version than the version I have here at home. and "Osaka" is a Japanese word, so of course it's gonna make the right sound
-
just observing... I was trying to learn Japanese on my NDS (need to go back... I kinda stopped on level 30) and I'm not sure "orange" would work... it's still not the same hard "o" sound
-
I'm gonna say the same thing about the pronunciation guide on this one, that was said before on a previous one ... the "o" in "odd" is more like "aw" the sound you're going for here is more like in "owe"
-
I've been taking care of spammers a lot more lately too... and I agree that it is weird. We used to get a whole bunch at the beginning, and then Maurice instituted the captcha thing, which made it better for a while... I should have known that eventually someone would figure out how to overcome it ;;;;;;;
