the movie went to theaters during Golden Week, which is in the spring (that's when all the DC movies have been released) DCTP had to wait until it was out on DVD before they could release a subbed copy

I think some episodes already have a summary on the wiki, but you're more than welcome to help fill in the ones that don't!

so... DCTP released their translation of movie 13 this weekend, and I decided to create this thread so we can talk about it. Personally, I think it was awesome. This is the first time anyone from the Black Org has been in a movie since the 5th one (Countdown to Heaven), and it was a really compelling story. I came across a raw copy about a week ago, so I watched it... after watching the subbed version, I was surprised at how well I was able to follow what was basically going on (my Japanese isn't very good), but as has happened with other raws, I was happy to be able to fill in the gaps. I'm not sure what else to say about it at this point, so I guess I'll wait until you all have had a chance to see it, and then we can have a real discussion

I know about the issues with subtitles, as I struggled with it myself (and have seen other Conan vids with too many subtitles)... part of the problem, actually, was that what I was conceptualizing was influenced by what was being said in some cases instead of just what was happening on the screen. In my next one, I expect that it will be a lot more demonstrative, and I hope the raw clips I'm collecting will fit together well

I tried to do this yesterday, but embedding the videos didn't work, so this time I'm just gonna put links here and you guys can follow them to where my videos are being stored "Keep You By My Side" -Shinichi (Conan)/Ran "His Two Worlds" -Shinichi (Conan) I know both of these videos have issues... the quality on the first one isn't all that great, and even though the second one is better, it's laden with subtitles. I apologize for this, as I was only using what I could get my hands on at the time, but aside from that, I think they're not so bad for an amateur. I'm making plans to do a third video, and for that one I'm trying to get decent quality raw clips, so I'm really hoping it'll come out better

I was thinking about a specific situation earlier today, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to address the general issue: If you think of a topic you'd like the site/board/wiki to cover, but you don't know where it goes, post to this thread and we'll see what we can do. To start us off, I was thinking about fan works, like stories and videos. In particular, I have two AMV's (and am thinking of starting work on a third), and several fanfics... and I think it would be nice to link them here... but I don't know if they should go in the "general" section, or if we should create a new one called "fan works"

I'm actually really surprised that he manages to keep tricking her. She's suspected it several times, and every time something happens to turn her attention away from the possibility. I do think it'll come out eventually, but whether she forces the issue or he just comes out and says it... or someone else blurts it out in her presence, I suppose is yet to be determined.

if he is the one, that would make a lot more sense for Shinichi to be born after it started... I mean, it would take years for an organization to grow big enough and infiltrate enough other industries....

Well... some shows premiered last week, but most of them are this week and next week. Which series are you looking forward to their return, and which new shows are you interested in? To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I'm interested in any of this year's new shows... I'm curious about "Three Rivers", since it takes place in Pittsburgh, but I heard that it's already running into problems. I'm really excited for the premieres of House, Castle and Numb3rs, and somewhat for Heroes and "Brothers and Sisters". I also want to see The Mentalist and The Big Bang Theory, but I'm not sure about time conflicts with other shows I already saw the premiere of Fringe, and it looks like they're picking right back up with all the intriguing creepiness.

that definitely sounds like something I would play! I'm not really into RPG's, but having that added level of gameplay would definitely pull me in [edit] I just mentioned your idea to my friend, and he asked if there would be a way for some player characters to be villains [/edit]

Are you thinking of doing a game based in the DC world, or a more general-type detective game? To be honest, all the detective games I've seen to date haven't really impressed me. I just finished the first two volumes of "Professor Layton", which were a lot of fun... but I don't think they're as open-ended as a detective game should be (basically, that series is a bunch of brain teasers vaguely tied together by a detective adventure). If it was up to me, I'd write the game more like Carmen Sandiego - you're given a place to start, and then you're free to do the legwork on your own and are permitted to choose the path to follow... even if it's wrong and you find yourself retracing your steps. I don't know anything about programming, but I might be able to give input on other aspects.

So... lately, I've been picking up eps straight from the source - DCTP (and btw, 545 has been released as of this posting) when I went to pick up the latest ep, I saw that they're working on a comprehensive streaming site. I don't know if/how it'll affect us, but I thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention this thread can either be a general discussion of DCTP, or it can be about new releases (or both) amazingly, in the time it took for me to write this, I already have the new ep, so I'm gonna go watch it here's hoping they're serious about 546 going up by Monday or Tuesday

not really that intensive it's just the two volumes of the manga that I have sitting next to me if I can see how they're filled in, hopefully I'll be able to do others myself as they come up

thanks for the message on my wiki page... I'm quite familiar with the method of seeing what came before in order to determine formatting anyway, I was doing exactly that just now with a couple volumes of manga in front of me, and I can't seem to figure out how to add the detail(s) onto the pages.... basically, it goes like this: I figured out that the season 9 episodes "The three "K's" of Osaka" (238-239) is from manga volume 29 file 9 through 11.... and episode 219 is from manga volume 30 file 4 through 7 (which I believe is also the first appearance of Hakuba Saguru) there are others in those volumes, of course, but I need to re-watch episodes or check summaries to make sure which is which and look to make sure the beginning of 29 isn't carried over from the end of 28 [edit] yeah.... episodes 230-231 are from volume 29 file 3 though 5; 242 is from volume 30 file 8 through 9; 240-241 is from volume 30 file 1 through 3 I think that's it... the beginning of volume 29 might be carried over from 28, and I'm pretty sure 30 is carried over to 31, and I'm not sure were the other case in the middle of 29 (files 6-8) are in the anime, if anywhere

I'm left handed... that's all there is to it. my friend helped me choose this name when I was in high school, just setting up my first e-mail box (which I still use)

It sounds nice on paper, but I'm not sure how good that idea really is. Now, I don't know how many visitors we get, because I don't have administrator access on the overall site (just a peon with a big mouth)... but torrents depend on having a decent user base. Not only that, but I have no idea how much strain a tracker would put on the server, or even if the host allows that sort of thing. The other issue is... streaming video is one thing, but sharing may or may not be a step the administrator wants to take.
