of course, that's what we're here for - to make a network of friends who like DC
-
as with my list of top 5 anime, I'll be leaving DC off of it... in no particular order: DeathNote: it was short, sweet, and to the point... I was actually impressed by how well the anime kept to the story (pretty much except for the very last scene... no spoilers 8-) )... but I liked the manga for much the same reason I liked the anime Rurouni Kenshin: no contest here, this manga was amazing. the anime cut off at the end of the Kyoto arc, so I was really happy that Viz brought over the complete manga series Fullmetal Alchemist: I know at least the English language version is still going... but it's way more involved than the original anime, with additional characters that were then added for the second anime Fruits Basket: no doubt about this one either... it goes way past the end of the anime, which is awesome. I'm really glad they brought it all over so that we could see the true conclusion Nightmare Inspector: this one will probably never see the light of animation, but it's still an interesting read... it's short, and it's episodic (which is something I tend to shy away from except with DC), but it has quite an odd flavor to it... no pun intended (if you know anything about it, you know why that's a pun) there are several others that could have made the list... Hunter x Hunter, GetBackers, etc... but not Trigun - even though the Trigun anime was awesome, the manga was uber-difficult to follow, and I often found myself rereading pages to try to figure out which hands or feet belonged to who

welcome to DC World! I'm Sara and I'm 26, but I only started watching DC about 5 years ago (recently got myself all caught up!) feel free to make yourself comfortable, and participate in the discussions. don't worry too much about making sure your English is perfect, you're doing fine so far

that table is absolutely awesome! I can probably help by searching through my manga to match with eps (I know, a lot of them are listed either at the beginning or during the eye-catch)... although I only have a couple within arms reach right now, as the rest are in a box in the garage

no, it's like how on the US DVD release they didn't want to break up the three-episode "Night Baron" case, so they shifted other eps around so that all three would be on the same disc and for the record, I don't know if you know, but the US release had all the cases split into single episodes, including "Moonlight Sonata" and "Mist Goblin", etc, which aired in Japan as hour-long specials
-
that shouldn't matter for fansubs, which most if not all of these are [edit] I should read all the way to the end before replying... I didn't realize that earlier eps were from DVD's [/edit]

my dad is a lot like Yuusaku, by way of his relationship with his kid(s) (I'm the oldest of three...) my mom is like....not really any of them, but I guess closest to Eri my mom's dad is like Dr Agasa my dad is a lot like his dad, so I guess my dad's dad is also a lot like Yuusaku I see a lot of Ran in myself, although I hope I'd cling to my suspicions a little stronger than she does I guess my brother and his girlfriend are kinda like Takagi and Sato... except they're actually together (although it did take a few years ) I have no idea who my sister is like

I'm pretty sure he figures it out sometime during the course of the third movie, "The Last Wizard of the Century", because at the end, Shinichi is about to reveal himself to Ran, and then Kaito shows up it's also clear that he knows by the time of movie eight, "Magician of the Silver Sky", because of the part at the beginning when they're in the dressing room and Shinichi says "but I'm the real...", and Kaito just kinda grins at him

Ai Haibara/Miyano Shiho and Akai Shuuichi pairing

do they even know the other exists? -
that's weird, it works fine for me... I can replace it with the one from that page you linked, though it looks like the ones at that link are in chronological order, going from right to left... I'm not sure who they all are, though

I started this elsewhere, but I figured it would be nice to have here too. This is a list of which character is displayed in the keyhole on the back cover of each volume of the manga: 1 Kudo Shinichi 2 Mouri Ran 3 Mouri Kogoro 4 Megure Juzo 5 Agasa Hiroshi 6 Yoshida Ayumi 7 Yokomizo Sango 8 Suzuki Sonoko 9 Kojima Genta 10 Hattori Heiji 11 Kisaki Eri 12 Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko 13 Suzuki Ayako 14 Kudo Yukiko 15 Hattori Heizo 16 Kaitou KID 17 Okino Yoko 18 Haibara Ai 19 Toyama Kazuha 20 Takagi Wataru 21 Sato Miwako 22 Kudo Yuusaku 23 Shiratori Ninzaburo 24 Araide Tomaki 25 Kyougoku Makoto 26 Vermouth 27 Yamamura Misao 28 Hattori Shizuka 29 Megure Midori 30 Hakuba Saguru 31 Mr.Toyama 32 Inspector Otaki 33 Officer Chiba That's as many volumes as have been released in English so far... I'll continue to update as I get more of them

heh, oh yeah, I forgot about Eisuke... and I didn't even consider deceased characters I wonder if the client from movie 10 counts

Ai Haibara/Miyano Shiho and Akai Shuuichi pairing
Southpaw replied to HermioneXHaibara's topic in General
...I would have said something in the other thread, but I wasn't sure if she'd gotten that far in the story aside from that little hang-up, I think it would be weird for Shiho to be with Shuichi, because he had been with Akemi -
I probably won't get all of them, but I can get the list started. As of the current point in the story (episode 541, having not seen movie 13 yet), I believe at least the following people know the truth: Dr Agasa Kudo Yuusaku Kudo Yukiko Hattori Heiji Haibara Ai Kaitou KID Vermouth it's kinda surprising that there aren't more... a lot of others have their suspicions, though

Porco Rosso - Hayao Miyazaki Millennium Actress - Satoshi Kon ...Satoshi Kon mostly creeps me out (I've really only seen Paranoia Agent besides this movie), but the movie is amazing. apparently he has another one, but I haven't seen it yet and I don't remember what it's called

that line is actually better known as "Occam's Razor", and you're right, there are a lot of other situations that it comes up besides just in DC... the most common instances of its use in DC are when there's someone Shinichi or Ran doesn't want to be the culprit, but as Shinichi investigates he finds everything points to that person. I tend to prefer the line "There is only one truth", which was translated to English as "With a keen eye for details, one truth prevails"... probably to fit mouth movements

meh, I don't know how talented I really am... I don't claim to be an artist, by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun and interesting even though it takes so much effort and btw, the RQ page is separate from my personal gallery... it's at RicochetQueen.deviantart.com
-
I do lots of things too -read -read manga (I definitely consider this to be separate, since manga only takes me an hour or two each) -chat online -watch anime -watch tv -knit -write fanfiction (my current story is a crossover with FMA, although it's been a while since I worked on it) -draw (I have a webcomic on dA, called Ricochet Queen)
-
I have ones that I prefer over others, but I can't honestly say I have a favorite... at the top of the list are (in no particular order): 6, 7, 8, and 10
-
"Kaitou KID's Miracle Mid-Air Walk" is already there too... all you need to know is what number the specials fell in the series, and you should be able to find them
-
I think you and I started watching around the same time (I started when adult swim picked it up).... although I was already a sophomore in college at that point (I'm 26 years old)... but it's the same with me, I was hooked from the beginning I'm also on other forums, but this is the first one I joined that was dedicated to DC
-
o.o that is picky I wouldn't consider it sci-fi like gundam or Tenchi Muyo are sci-fi, though... it's just about humanoid robots, and the title character (Signal) was designed to be a big-brother type to a kid named Nobuhiko... it's a cute story, but if you're really not interested, I won't keep trying to persuade you

Do the Movies go between the episodes???
Southpaw replied to DetectiveConanfan's topic in Movies and OAVs
yeah... when watching movie 13, it'll probably be helpful to know what's already happened between Conan/FBI and the Black Org. -

having now gone back and re-watched the beginning of the first movie, I can say that you're right - it's not a flashback. I think what they might have done was a basic introduction of the main four characters, for people who have had no other exposure to the series
