  1. Recently converted from ShinRan to AiCon. So Haibara, doi I don't doubt for a second that Ran is endgame. And despite being an AiCon shipper, I would hate to see a ship that has been sailing for so long and successfully sink at Gosho's whim. I can't imagine him finding some way to execute a sudden change to AiCon without completely disregarding the characters' own, well, characterization, much less justify it for the fans that have been following the series for years and years and years. Unless, of course, Ran dies. I used to look down on people who suggests for this to happen, and I still dislike it albiet to a milder degree, but yeah, that's pretty much the only way AiCon can happen in canon. This is even worse for the ShinRan shippers though. (Anyone who has stayed with the series since its beginning pretty much has to be a ShinRan shipper to some extent, fending off those criticisms like crazy. Dropping a rock on it would be plain cruel.) I think it's safe to say that there's no hope for the AiCon shippers (and KaiShin, lol) to ever see their dream go canon. Nevertheless, I stand by AiCon. She's such a complex character with a strong theme of finding a loving, nurturing environment to live and have a future in after being raised in the Black Org. She seems to have found that among the Detective Boys and Agasa, but if Conan is able to reciprocate her feelings for him, then gah. Sweetness overload. (I like the theory about Haibara refusing the antidote to relive her childhood too. But AiCon is sweeter. I mean, can you not see Shiho and Shinichi taking a walk in the park, holding hands and eating ice cream? While the DB goof around them and tease them for having a sappy smile on their faces??) For those who like Ran for her loyalty, patience, etc etc, I don't know what to say. I respect your opinion, but I personally never judge a character by the same standards as I judge a person. For example, I love Lelouch, and he's a terrorist. Or Loki, and he's a bad guy (idk exactly where he stands in the newest material though). These characters are horrible people (for the most part), but they're interesting. Ran is an amazing person, but she's boring. Haibara is actually both an interesting and kind person, so I'm sold. And a plot twist like AiCon would definitely spice up the series, romance-wise. (Too many childhood friends-turned-lovers.....) tl;dr: AiCon ftw
  2. I can't believe machine had been winning for 8 days with this video. Can't decide if I should be melting from the adorableness or freaking out because... Well.
  3. True, true. I don't mind Ran as much if she's playing the big sister role. But when Ran gets into danger and there's the ten minutes of "intense" (lol not really) switching back and forth between Ran saying "Shinichi" and Conan saying "Ran"....... No thanks, mate. I don't want to end on a negative note though. So BLACK ORG GUYS YAYYYY
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8gmARGvPlI Christmas is not Christmas without Christmas music. *glares at machine* Hallelujah to that 4-hour playlist on Youtube OuO
  5. Just saw the trailer. Intense Black Org stuff is pretty hype, no matter what some say, haha. Only complaint is Ran stealing away 2 seconds for her damsel in distress image. But danngggg, I have to catch up now..... To people still trying to avoid those spoilers: Edit: been away so long I forgot the tags >.< Edit 2: Fixed
  6. THE BLUE/BLACK SHADING I CAN'T Somebody said they'd give you +100 if they can. I agree.
  7. Currently reading Garth Nix's Sabriel. The writing style really conveys the fantasy feel whilst remaining unconvoluted and comprehensible, even more so than Laini Taylor's imo. And I'm loving the necromancers.

It makes you wonder just where France (and probably the rest of the West) will go from here and just what measures will be put in place to try to prevent the next attempt. RIP to those 100+

Man, they have bean preventing attepts likke this one decades.

What makes me mad is that its alway the ordinary man that gets killed. You know the guy that goes on a burger then to a movie guy. All these politicians, exstremists, media should go to the end of the world and duke it there and leave us alone

    Kirsch's Art Thread

It's been forever since I posted anything in this art thread! Thank MeiTanteixX for inspiring me to put this up, haha. This was done way back around Valentine's Day, which was (wow) eight months ago. I was going for a "Dark Cupid" theme: Incredibly vain, this anti-Cupid stains his lips red with the very arrow that is supposed to bring two people together in a relationship that calls for devotion and selflessness.
  10. I have! Vermouth has always been one of my favorite characters, and it's interesting to see you take on an entire arc from her POV. How much will it cover?
  11. Your drawings are really improving. They were good before, but now they're absolutely freaking amazing I love the colored pencils effect, especially in the family reunion drawing <3
  12. At the weaboo level. :-P Lol, jk. Once I attempted (and failed) to memorize the hiragana characters. I also know random phrases from prolong exposure to the language (read: watching anime). I can recognize some kanji as Mandarin, but I don't think that really counts....
  13. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. I mean. I just. I can't. Stop. No. Too many times have I had a mental/emotional meltdown from reading this book. This series just gets better and better with each installment -- it starts off Hunger Game-esque and cliched and then it morphs into an epic fantasy with multiple intertwining plot lines. Heads roll so often I've lost count and all the main characters are in some sort of mortal danger. It's fantastic.
  14. Welcome! It's always cool when lurkers post.

I feel the DC fandom is really well off in its fanfic department. It took me a while to learn how to filter the epics from the mehs, but when I did, the archives became a haven -- so much so that I was pretty shocked when I checked out fanfics from other fandoms (Seduction was/is a prime example of guilty reading. Okay writing, but seriously questionable characters). Windfall is a classic and one of my personal favorites, as is another Kid-centric story about what Nakamouri would do if Kid gets hospitalized as a consequence of stepping in front of a bullet for someone. If you couldn't already tell, the Kid corner is where I spent most of my time, haha.
  16. Yup, the whole thing's satire. It's not like scientists are supposed to have a minor in liberal arts or whatever, but convoluted writing is the last you'd want when trying to communicate to something to the general public. And considering how often the science curriculum stresses on the importance of precise writing is to STEM fields, it's ironic to see the "top" brains in the world still live up to the stereotypes..
  17. I love this article: http://sciencecareers.sciencemag.org/career_magazine/previous_issues/articles/2012_03_23/caredit.a1200033 Don't click until after you've read it:
  18. It's been months since I last stared at your bio, and I still think it has something to do with musical notes. Maybe videogame music? But going by the D major scale, F should be F sharp, and the 3D clue hints at it being some sort of gameplay like "jump to the high D block then down to the low D block" or something. In that case, I give up x.x

I know, it's unreasonably hard. I'm actually surprised you decided to give it a shot so long after I made the riddle.
