You make many good points, and it's good to see such an in-depth response. In any case, I think it does go back to the fact that what I am worried about is not being able to enjoy anime/manga again in America. If Japan really wanted to, it could be possible that all this sharing of videos and chapters could come to an end, and American anime/manga fans won't be able to have access to their favorite series. Unless, they waited a very long time for it to be released on DVD/books in Japan, and a licensed company subs them, then sells it in America. But not only would that take too long, but there are a lot of animes/mangas coming out constantly in Japan, so licensed companies would most likely not take them all on to sub.

Um, you both were off... Raki, you moved around the points too much. So I am going to post with the thought of what I think you meant to do. Well actually, Raki, you were completely way off mark... were you looking at the end of the first page? And A. Haibara, you did the exact same thing as Raki... I am so confused right now. Okay, I am copying my last one and pasting it exactly. We'll go off from this one, since after this one, it got messed up. Conan/Shinichi: 10 Kaitou Kid: 15 Shuichi Akai: 16 Heiji Hattori: 13 Ran Mouri: 4 Kogoro Mouri: 2

Conan/Shinichi: 10 Kaitou Kid: 15 Shuichi Akai: 16 Heiji Hattori: 13 Ran Mouri: 4 Kogoro Mouri: 2 Nah, but as great as all the characters are, you do have to make a decision on which one to get rid of. And I would rather keep my favorites in the game, which my top three have the three highest scores... yay!

Source for this topic: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1235745 "In cooperation with 15 major anime production companies and manga publishers, the Japanese government will next month start a huge extermination operation against 580 foreign sites which have illegally uploaded anime and manga contents on the web without the copyright holders' permission, NHK reported on July 28th. While the government has started supporting the genre as one of their important cultural exports, there appears to be no end of illegal uploading of anime and manga via pirate sites, mainly operated by Chinese. The Cultural Affairs Agency estimates the loss caused by the Chinese pirate sites last year was amounted to at least 560 billion yen (about US$ 5.5 billion). On August 1st, the government will start simultaneously sending requests to delete illegal anime and manga contents to the operators of the 580 foreign pirate sites which they have found. In addition, the operation will launch a new site to guide the fans to a legitimate site offering some 250 titles including the latest ones at a cost of several hundred yen." So what does this mean for us in America? Well here are the thoughts that came together after I spoke to two subbing groups about this, so I'll copy and paste what we said: "It will be hard for Japan to reach this into America, which is why they're mainly going for Chinese. Plus, if servers are coming from Sweden, as many anime sites do, then it won't effect those sites. The problem is that China will leak shows even earlier than Japan, which is where the big money loss is coming from." "A lot of anime sites won't even see an issue even if america is targeted because there's this main stream idea of just embeding the video on the website, the DMCA can't touch them because there's nothing on the server being hosted. Sites like AU, Anilinkz, ACTV etc... as long as they arent hosting things themselves... there's no stopping it legally. Just in case you are curious - a lot of people wonder if subtitling anime is illegal in terms of dmca, NO it is not. Subtitling anime and letting people download it is a grey area that is ignored. It is at the point you profit from it by streaming it on a video player and hosting it on your own server that becomes a dmca issue." So what are your thoughts?

This game is a fun one! I'll start out with six Detective Conan canons. Each post, you will take a point from one character and place it on another of your choice. When a character hits 0 points, that character is eliminated. This will go on until there is only one Detective Conan character with all the points. Conan/Shinichi: 10 Kaitou Kid: 10 Shuichi Akai: 10 Heiji Hattori: 10 Ran Mori: 10 Kogoro Mori: 10 AND BEGIN! PS: If I spelled names wrong (was too lazy to look them up), feel free to correct it when you post. However, I think "Kaitou" is just as accurate as "Kaito". EDIT: So after many rounds, and even a round for second place winners then first place winners, the top ten (in this order) was as follow: 1. Kaitou Kid 2. Shuichi Akai 3. Bourbon 4. Gin 5. Vermouth 6. Professor Agasa 7. Mouri Kogoro 8. Miwako Sato 9. James Black 10. Kazuha Toyama 11?. Conan/Shinichi was knocked out on the very first round, but he was up against the top two. So I brought him back for the second place winners round, and he got 3rd out of 6. So, I think this would make him about top 11. Sorry the main character didn't make it into the top ten... >.> I also think had Heiji Hattori and a few other characters who had done well and got 3rd was brought back for the final two rounds, they would have been placed probably in the top ten. Especially if they went up against some of the more minor characters that won because they were up against more minor characters. Example, I bet Heiji would have done better than the professor had they gone on different rounds than what they did.

People wondering where the movie is, it is not even out on DVD in Japan yet. In order for the internet to get the RAW version, it needs to be on DVD first. Based on previous years, I am guessing it will be on DVD in mid to late November. Therefore, don't expect to see it subbed yet until the end of the year. Maybe even beginning of 2015.

I'll just nod and act like I know what you're talking about >_< But I am sure your grammar skills are just as good as mine. I find that for people where it isn't their first language tend to be better than people in America. Oh if I had a dollar for every time someone mentioned that rhyme... As for the kawaii emotes, we'll say you owe me >_<

DC video games? My subbing groups would probably not be interested in doing so, we focus on the anime videos.

Okay, lets watch Case Closed, the English version of Detective Conan, and not meet Ai/Vi, unless you watch the movies. On top of it, lets change all the Japanese names to English ones, and lets no longer be in Tokyo. Instead, let it be New York (I think it was NY). I am being sarcastic. I don't mind English, if they keep the proper names of people and places and things. Otherwise, I prefer Japanese.

Hello! So Melody is my real name... no joke, for some reason, it is hard for people to believe that online. So I have to emphasize it. Mello is a nick name I picked up from friends in middle school. I added Lily since it is my favorite flower and a fake name I used sometimes for fun. Hence, now I have my main username I use online and a name people know me as, MelloLily. So that is the story on how I got that username. I am 20, will be 21 in October. Going into my fourth year of college, studying Human Services/Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I currently have my Associate's and working on Bachelor's. I work with two subbing groups for Detective Conan (by the way, I support buying the things to support the show/manga, but takes too long to get to America). My first group is HubukiSubs, known for being the first to get out Lupin III vs. Detective Conan: Movie. The second group who I just joined two days ago, ShinRanSubs, known to have the most recent videos out right now. I do not translate, I only work on spelling and grammar. Not claiming to be the best, but I can tell when spelling is wrong or when wrong word is used. Edit: I now know how to do timing. Other than that, I moderate on two anime sites: NarutoSpot, and AnimeRam. A bit about myself and hobbies. I enjoy anime and manga, well that was a given. I also draw some anime, but I am not that good... I avoid drawing hands. I also love to swim and being outdoors, so I am not a complete basket case. Oh wait, I have to add gaming, so basket case it is. So a bit about myself, feel free to ask questions and let me know about yourself. Oh, and since I know this may come up as a question, here is MyAnimeList. I have to add 1-2 more animes I have seen and add a few on plan to watch, but I think you can get the gist of a lot of anime I have seen. And yes, you'll see a lot of yaoi.
