I haven't had a cold for a while so I'm praying it doesn't come in during midterms or during AP week. -- I want winter break to be extended since I'm still under piles of calc hw. A few of my friends are also in the same predicament so at least I'm not alone.

Steins;Gate is probably one of the best if not the best anime I've watched thus far. Tell me what you think of it when you're finished! It's slow the first few episodes, but it picks up speed pretty quickly afterwards.

Oh dear. You seem pretty firm in your opinion on the show. But to be honest, I wholeheartedly disagree (something that we finally don't have in common, haha). Nichijou separates itself from other anime in that it's humor is unique from that of other slice of lifes'. The character I could most relate with was probably Yuko, so I wouldn't say their portrayal of the characters was completely off (though I admit Mai and Hakase were a bit of a stretch). Nichijou exaggerates typical life situations to the point where even the most mundane events become light-hearted and laughable. The whole atmosphere of the show is so bright and bubbly, it's hard not to smile while watching it. The show is so simple, yet so effective. Shows like Mirai Nikki that layer on unnecessary drama for the sake of character development are a huge turn-off for me so Nichijou felt like a breath of fresh air. Sure, Nichijou may never hit the top charts, but it's one of those kinds of anime--even after years--that will have many newcomers thinking, "how did I not discover this earlier?" It's still fresh, it's dynamic, and has this incredible sense of humor that I just love to pieces. I understand where you're coming from since opinions tend to vary greatly with this kind of show. The humor of the show probably didn't affect you as greatly as it affected me so it's kinda pointless for me to argue any further. However, I have one final recommendation: Steins;Gate. This show has such an unbelievable amount of depth to it. I'm not even going to bother advocating it any further because the reviews on MAL are more than enough to express my full opinion of the show. Also, this: If you're a fan of World History (especially if you have decent knowledge of WWII) I highly recommend this (most of the jokes fly over your head if you don't have a decent grasp of WWII or common stereotypes). Yes, they stereotype countries to an unimaginable degree to the point where it's rather comical. Despite this, I haven't found a single person who has been offended by the show. No, I'm not a fan of history. Yes, I still enjoyed it. Please, by all means, avoid the fandom. It's embarrassing. Also, avoid season 5. The show fell victim to fanservice by that point.

^ Well, I've ranted about Ran wayyy too much--both on DCW and on /r/OneTruthPrevails I'm too lazy to write another one so I'll link some of the most relevant to this topic: rant #1 rant #2 Yeah, I also used to hate Sonoko. But that was before I realized she's more human than Ran is. She has more personality to her, whereas Ran lacks so much depth. It's boring.

I rewatched a few episodes of Hetalia. geez, I forgot how much I used to love this show It's a shame that season 5 was just a bunch of fanservice ...and the fact that the majority of the fandom sound like 2 year old fangirls now.

well, I'm not sure what it's called ...but it translates to "salt dish"

I have this version in my playlist. Nice to see someone with a similar taste. This post is mainly going to contain a very wide range of OSTs (plus a few others). You have been warned, haha. If you plan to go through this list, please wear headphones. They seriously make a world of difference. This list contains music that ranges from upbeat 8-bit to orchestral stuffs so hopefully there's something here for everyone. I would have added a lot of classical stuff to here as well, but most of them are fairly well-known. pretty much every Touhou soundtrack (probably doesn't count since they're popular in Japan) Touhou remixes such as Plain Asia, this beautiful compilation, Nuclear Fusion, and probably a few others I've missed Moonsetter from Homestuck The Hospital/Betus Blues | Dr. Fetus and pretty much everything else from Super Meat Boy Dearly Beloved | L'Impeto Oscuro and pretty much everything else from Kingdom Hearts Scorpion Fire | MEI from beatmania Last Battle | On to Grasstown and pretty much everything else from Cave Story absolutely. everything. from. Joe. Hisaishi. Echochrome II Soundtrack- Part 2 it's placid string stuff if you're into that kinda music, but it's gorgeous Beethoven Virus Mineturtle | Tom's Dog from The Living Tombstone (really upbeat stuff) Piano cover/remix of Against the Grain (couldn't find a better quality D:) Canon Rock this was just my favorite version/cover of Canon in D Merry Christmas don't worry, it's not your average Christmas song Temptation Sensation another somewhat placid string music Kuchibiru Kara Romantica better than the original in my opinion Light Up the World simple songs are sometimes the best SSB4 opening 8-bit this guy makes loads of other great 8-bit music ...and a whole bunch more I've probably forgotten ...which means I'll be updating this list periodically! If you couldn't tell already, I absolutely love listening to instrumentals. I don't know how or why I didn't stumble across this thread earlier.

What Was the Last Song You Listened To?

Echochrome II Soundtrack- Part 2 ermahgerd. the. cello. the freaking cello is soooooooo good. yay strings... the song is seriously under-appreciated. I guess it's understandable since a lot of people don't listen to this kind of music, but whatever. I mean, I can't possibly be the only person who listens to random OSTs. BUT SOME OF THEM ARE JUST ASTOUNDING. I need a place where I can rave about all of them since this post is probably going to be buried soon enough, lol -
...and here I was, stupidly waiting behind my computer screen expecting a gif jkjk it's all good --- but back on topic... ...well, (obligatory) I haven't showered since last year!!!!!1!!!!!!111!!11!!!1

Sub groups change frequently throughout the series. Sometimes their name appears on the screen the entire time. Sometimes their name is near the logo during the opening. Sometimes their name appears when the gate opens. So there's no way for me to pinpoint the sub group for an episode without watching it most of the time. Also, episode 284 was made back in 2002--when HD was practically nonexistent. The only HD episodes of the older ones are going to be the remastered episodes. I'm not aware of anyone who subs those, so it's not likely that you're going to find them online. I'm sure FUNimation might have some HD episodes, but if anything, they're going to be the dub version and won't be going past episode 130.

New year means new things! Detective Conan Chibis! I drew them on DeviantART muro so you can watch the drawing process here: http://sta.sh/01myjptq0x88 The recording kinda glitches up a bit at points, although I'm not sure why. As always, suggestions and comments are appreciated! Because this was drawn on DeviantART muro, my wrist is killing me. ow, drawing with a mouse is painful. These were still a lot of fun to make though, so I might draw more in the future anyway, heh. Happy New Year! brownie points to those who can recognize the characters I drew, haha << previous art post <<

I'll be honest, Pit is one of the cheaper characters in Smash, lol. I still love using him (hence the avatar), but if I ever get the opportunity, I'll probably toy around with some other characters later. Falco, Lucas, Ice Climbers, and Kirby were a few of my favorites in Brawl. Mario Kart DS was easy in my opinion. I've been so used to it that Mario Kart Wii seemed like the Touhou lunatic level of Mario Kart. I haven't had any luck with shinies since Platinum (I can't remember if I've mentioned this before). But good for you for finding that shiny Silcoon! Lucky for you Chansey's attack stat is practically nonexistent, but killing it off is always a good route to take. Despite what I said earlier, my trip to Florida went a lot better than expected. My friend over there managed to get his hands on Smash 4 and Omega Ruby so I finally got the opportunity to play those games on his 2DS. Oh my lord I almost cried. I thought I would never get the chance, haha. I would tell you about some of the other adventures I had in Florida but we'd be going extremely off-topic if that were the case (not that we haven't already, lol). I only went to places like Miami, Key West, and Fort Lauderdale over break so unfortunately, I didn't get to visit Disney World. The warm weather was a nice break from the chilly winter we've been getting around here but it was still too hot for my taste. I can only imagine how awful summer is over there. Even if I were to have visited Disney World, I doubt that my dad would let me buy any trinkets remotely related to Japanese culture (it's one of those unreasonable grudges he holds against the Japanese because of some historic event that occurred ages ago). Same goes with the anime/manga stuff. Things tend to be overpriced in Disney World anyway, so I probably wouldn't have gotten much even if I had the opportunity. Thanks for the heads up though! I didn't know about this until I read your post. -- oh wow, we're on our fourth page already?

I don't recall that being one of this lines. It fits his character in that he never purposefully hurts anyone so I think it's implied. ...or am I interpreting your question wrong

dammit, this was one of my favorite gifs in my folder you beat me to it, haha

didn't get one until sophomore year; my parents were sick of me borrowing my friends' phones to call them, haha can I take second place

I'm late to the party on this, but I just finished watching Levi's backstory. It was good. ...so good that it gave me a better impression than what the original SnK/AoT had offered. Definitely not disappointed.
