I like them both, but I prefer Shinichi's cool appearance rather than Conan's childish approach.. Still love them both..

Probably, other than the hype.. It might hint that Rum actually trusts Vermouth to an extent, or is trying to prove something (like his preference to speak rather than to type, or wants to appeal in some manner). Anyhow Rum may have a purpose in calling as Gosho-sama's revelation of Anokata's ID to the director most likely have something to do with Rum's appearance, my intake on this matter is that it shows just who are the people that Rum is in contact with. Or the extent of his power being the 2nd in the Org and all..

Since the chapters are out.. OK so we know that Vermouth's only 'treasures' are Ran and Shinichi, just to what extent does she hates the Org. She is obedient but acts to her own thoughts, hated by most members, and have a relationship to Anokata. So Anokata is no 'treasure' of her, meaning she is more of a family member mostly a sister or daughter more than anything (assuming human cloning is not probable in DC)..

I didn't totally disregarded the two as related, simply that what Gosh-sama meant by 'fake' is the understatement that they are the same person. I do believe however, like you said Asaca will lead to Rum..Be it Asaca is Mary/ Father Akai or anyone else..

I think the fake is being ASACA= RUM, it is a mere assumption made by Shuu and Conan. But there is no evidence to back it up, maybe the next file will reveal that Asaca is not Rum.. only time will tell..

The hype .. Imagine if they spoiled it :D

If you think about it, the movie is definitely going to be great. But Gosho-sama will have to top that in the true ending of DC, just imagine how all of this would be nothing compared to the true ending ...

Well, if you are talking specifically about Conan/Shinichi. Then aside from Sherlock Holmes, the disguise to act childlike is somewhat similar to Hercule Poirot's simple minded misconception at first glance. Also the hot-headed aspect may be influenced by Philip Marlowe/Raymond Chandler who by the way is a heavy influence on Heiji. Mycroft the older smarter brother of Sherlock Holmes, influenced Yuusaku's character. Kaito Kid is ascribed to be an amalgamation of Arsene Lupin. Another assumption is that Anokata aka the Boss is influenced by Moriarty if Gosho-sama is going in that direction. And of course there are many others..

But of course, I cannot imagine Conan facing an inexperienced young boss. But I also cannot imagine Conan facing a crippling old man, not unless he is or will deage..

So, just for fun.. how would you like to imagine Anokata and Rum to look like in the end?? what are your expectations of Anokata's appearance, and Rum's.. Do you want their bond to be stronger than any characters we've seen so far..??!! Personally for me, I'd like them to appear in something like this:- Rum - And as for Anokata, something like Asou Keij with a genius intellect and a ruthless character but a sincere calm demeanor, like Vito Corleone; imagine Asou Keiji with more older appearance though.. - ..

I've been thinking;

I guess, I'm alone to say that she is the contrast to Haibra; While I adore both characters, Haibara is more of the intellectual genius who lost a family and is regarded as a traitor and is running away from the past. While Ran is the more strong character who is stuck in the past and do not want to escape the past because of emotional attachment. Hence forth, I guess while Haibara wants to stay in a child's form; Ran seems eager to meet Shinichi. In other words Ran is in love with Shinichi the real character, while Haibara is in love with Conan the fake character Shinichi has made up to live. I do not doubt that Ran will end up with Shinichi, while Haibara will end up getting over the matter and find something new. Therefore I guess Ran would be essential for motivating Shinichi to come back at the very end..

I agree with the Library murder case & the Bandaged Man in the Mountains, as a kid I was shocked really more than terrified but the imprint that was left within me was large that I kept dreaming of them. Though I feel they are much scarier than the known monsters, another several cases I found shocking are: the Kiritengu case where the old hermit in the temple looks like the Kiritengu and he was hanged on a high ceiling. The Moonlight Sonata; where the face of burning Asou Keiji was dramatic and shocking though not clear. The woman's eye in the house filled with animal clocks case. But as for the winner it has to be the demon of DC's world, that black figure that lurks in the hearts of humans. Every time the black figure shows up he creeps the heck out of the audience..

Also I didn't check if anyone remarked this yet, but also if you rearrange MASCARA U - you can also get CARASUMA as in KARASUMA RENYA, or MURASAKA although I remember no such name used for any character but similar names such as Murasawa etc..

Unless Rum is like Vermouth and that is being subject to Silver Bullet therefore sustaining the aging factor (though unlikely), or that his mere feminine looks makes him seem younger..if he is 37 he could pass as 25-30 I know of people with similar cases..

True, but this one is the only one to be so suspicious, furthermore this is the only background character besides a seemingly unrelated couple with only their legs showing and two kids who are seemingly innocent. It may be nothing to notice, it just stroke me as having a one eye hidden and the characteristics are falling in a reasonable manner..

Some breakthrough info, as I recently watched the 4th trailer of the 20th movie and with the info that Gosho-sama said that the Rum that will appear in the movie is the real deal. I started watching carefully, and stopped upon this instant hype image of what would be a very suitable candidate for Rum. If you notice he's is feminine and supposedly strong and and old person since perhaps he cut his hair after killing Kouji and Amanda, also another point to take interest of; he somewhat reminds me very of Asou Seiji the feminine man in the Moonlight Sonata. I'm not sure if it holds as a solid theory and neither is this picture, but notice how also the right eye of the person in the pic is hidden by Vermouth's head and the person's presence lights up soon as Haibara mentions the 2nd in command, not to mention the serious face and the effort in drawing the character, plus it does seem as if he is eavesdropping on Vermouth. Got me way too hyped for the movie it's only about 4-5 weeks ahead.

About Yoko Okino, I think she was meant to be Vermouth until Gosho-sama changed his plans. Since if you think about it she is all too similar to Vermouth; Blonde, actress, somewhat saved by Conan etc.. On the Suzuki family, I believe there might be a connection. But not for the heads of the family; Jirokichi and Sonoko's father & her mother are not likely simply because they have seen Conan and would check on him and would eventually find out about Haibara which didn't happen yet.. Regarding Genta's dad; I sincerely doubt someone with only a liquor store at his disposal would have enough money to control and build a large criminal organization.
