Last time he had a health related break, we got a 2 month break (March 2015–May 2015), followed by 1 case (921–924), followed by a just-under 2 month break (June 2015–July 2015), and then things returned to normal. So we may not get 1,009 until February—and that's being really optimistic.

And this new break may be just as long or longer than the break we had between 1,006 and 1,007—or just as long or longer than those two long breaks we had in 2015 (between 920 and 921 and between 924 and 925). Apparently this hiatus is due to a health issue on Gosho's part—which is also what caused those long 2015 breaks. Will update when a translation of the above image becomes available.

You mean there being so few shake-ups in the status quo, to the point where it can be argued that the supposedly biggest developments aren't actually big developments at all? The BO Damocles, here, is Gin's suspicion of Kogoro (it's been there since 2004 and Black Impact—hopefully, this is the arc in which Gosho will finally make use of it). We'll see if Vodka takes notice of the media firestorm going on (like Bourbon/Scar Akai was noticed at the Bank Heist (677–679/563–564)). If not, then Kanenori, Hyoe and Rumi will certainly not be fooled by Shinichi's/Conan's attempted misdirect. My guess is that Gin's suspicion of Kogoro and the Rum suspects making moves will run parallel to each other until they finally converge. Now when will they converge? Who knows... a year, perhaps—maybe even 2 or 3... or, hopefully not, even longer. Point being, while Shinichi/Conan will come to think the solution he's going to put to use in 1,008 or 1,009 resolves the fallout of him getting caught on camera, it actually won't, and his regained sense of ease will shatter when the parallel threads of Gin's suspicion of Kogoro and the Rum suspects making moves finally converge—that's when the status quo will have the greatest chance of finally being challenged. At the very least, it'll lead to a Mystery Train-esque case (identity reveal of arc's titular character), which will then set the stage for a Scarlet Showdown-esque/Clash of Red and Black-esque case (big confrontation)

Alright, then what makes the Soshi route of solving this "not very interesting?" Other than the doppelganger route, I just don't see how this is resolved—let alone immediately resolved. Anyone have any ideas how Shinichi/Conan solves this without Soshi?
