Alright, just a few little things: 1. Disappreance of Conan Edogawa was a TV Special and is therefore not canon. Besides, that plot point with Ran was only in there to get something for the advertising, so it's more of a writer's flaw, than a character flaw. Anyway, not canon, so we can disregard it. 2. Kogoro was a policeman before he became a private eye. And the point is, that Ran grew up, where her father was constantly in worriesome situations, because law enforcement is not the safest job. She is used to that feeling, even if she never came along. 3. Again, as it shows time and time again through your text: the movies are not canon and therefore are irrelevant for character analysis. Ran only gets in danger in the movies often, because the writers need a climax. Also, Conan confirming the partner thing is also just in the movies. 4. As I wrote, I meant the ten years in our time, not in-universe time. Many of the things with Ran longing and Ran crying are not from recently. Anyway, I don't think we'll ever reach a point of understanding. You hate Ran with all your heart and soul, as you have written in another thread, and I love the character, so we should just leave it at that.

But it isn't a crush he doesn't realize, Shinichi knows that he is in love with Ran for a very long time already. She's definitely not just a friend since kindergarden for him, evidenced by e.g. his conversation with Asami in Files 173-175.

Alright, first of all, saying that they've had no chemistry so far, is completely false. Chemistry is not a term for solely love relationships; chemistry is especially important in the first meetings of two person, it describes if people simply "click" and if they understand each other without much need for words, if people simply feel the same. It's very complex. Shinichi and Ran share an enourmous chemistry. Why would his work be disturbed by Ran? She is quite used to him solving cases; he really started to work with the police after their New York Trip, which was also the time she realized how much she loved him. Never did we see Ran having problems or getting angry with Shinichi for solving cases. Even as Shinichi made his trip alone to East Ohuko Village, we don't have any evidence that got overly worried or even angry at all. The reason, why Ran is so worried is, because Shinichi simply vanishes. The circumstances are not normal. If he could/would tell her where he is and what the case is about, than I doubt Ran would worry even close to as much as she's currently doing - which is not much by the way. Ever since London, Ran isn't really actively angry or worrying or crying for Shinichi anymore. Because she trusts him. Also, don't forget that Ran has grown up with her family being at risk due to law enforcement/detective work. She grew up as a policemens daughter; I doubt she would go into a frenzy evertime Shinichi had case, especially since Conan and Kogoro regularly have severe cases and she doesn't into overdrive everytime. Additionally, Ran likes it when Shinichi solves cases. Just aside from sharing the sense for justice and morality, she simply loves to him solve the case and to see the expression on his face when he figures something out. That is a thing that makes her happy. So, why would go so completely nuts when he does it? These are all things that fit Ran as well. Ran understands the danger, she grew up with it and lives with it. Ran is more than capable of getting Shinichi out of danger, as she demonstrated several times already. This state that you only say for Ai: worried, but not fussing is exactly the state I would imagine being in, if their relationship got serious. Also, Ran is completely capable of being his Watson. How do I know this? Because she has been his Watson several times over the course of the series already. Hell, even as Conan she regularly serves him as Watson. When was the last time she's done that? In our time? Roughly ten years ago I'd guess.

If I remember correctly, the EYE part was a hint towards the saying "Eye for an eye" since the culprit revenge-killed two people who killed with optical illusions, with optical illusions, so it was part of the case solution and was explained. I can't go into more detail right now, since that case was very complicated because it relied heavily on wording/Japanese language and stuff and I'd have to reread the chapters first. But I'm fairly certain it was a part of the case solution. That said, of course it could still have a double meaning and not only be important for the case, but also point at Rum; maybe it really was a little hint placed by Gosho for the readers. Although, it really was pretty early, even before Bourbon was revealed...

True on Rei, but it would make sense, as that would be the same age Date would have, if he were still alive.
-
1. She ordered Calvados to stop shooting, because he was shooting at Ran. He wasn't even aiming for Haibara, so it's pretty clear Vermouth wanted to protect Ran and not Haibara. 2. What makes you think Haibara/Shiho and Rei are close in age? For all we know, Haibara is 18 and Rei is 29, do you have any reasons to believe otherwise?

Uhm, it is no secret that Ran is a karate champion. She won championships before and those surely got covered in newspapers and internet news. So Irish has probably researched her (though I don't know if obtaining information that you can get from a simple google search counts as "research"), as she was very close to something he investigated. Oh, and I don't need to mention that the movies are not canon anyway, right?

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 921-924 First met, first love.

Agreed. I read multiples times on DCTP that some people were disappointed that Shinichi didn't act his age even as a preschooler, which I don't get at all. Over the top jealousy and rage fits because of essentially nothing, yeah, that sounds like something a four year old would do. -

It's "The Time-Bombed Skyscraper" from the (surprise!) OST of the first movie. Couldn't find a version from that OST right now, but here is the one from the "Detective Conan Original Soundtrack Selection Best" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgJxg0o98K0

It's just comic book time. In the beginning of the series they still used floppy disks and currently they have smartphones, although it hasn't even been a full year since Shinichi became Conan. And btw, 772-773 is not a filler, it is a manga case. Don't question the comic book time in DC. It will get you nowhere and isn't an important in-universe factor. Just go with it.

From this post on DCTP:

From what BD and Dreamskye have translated, it seems like Matsumoto was promoted and Kuroda will succeed him in his old position.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3MGpQ0M19s I'll repeat my post from DCTP here real quick: Hm, it's decent. Maybe a bit too much time wasted on Conan just walking and standing. Liked the spinning shots around the characters, was really cool. Except one thing: why is Kazuha cowering behind Heiji instead of them both in a fighting pose like Ran and Kogoro? He should cower behind her, considering she does the weaponless martial art and he doesn't have a weapon. Oh well. Overall not too bad.

Official Magic Kaito 1412 News and Discussion Thread
Serinox replied to Akazora's topic in Anime series
Oh, there were two additional scenes that gave it a more round ending. First scene is more humorous where the four main chars get some screen time together and the second is kind of an epilogue with Toichi's final message and Kaito saying he will surpass him one day. -
Well, I just meant I wouldn't bat an eye if someone here in Germany would have that name. Andre is a pretty common name here, I think there are some stats that have Andre in the Top 50 names for boys between the sixties and nineties and Camel is just one letter off the word in German (Kamel), maybe his parents immigrated into the U.S. and changed it or something. Anyway, it's probably not that important.
-
I think Amuro just wanted to emphasize his argument that Jodie and Camel are foreign (nationality and agency wise) and should leave matters to the Japanese. Ofc, it could at the same time imply that Camel has German roots, which wouldn't be surprising considering his name. Still, I don't think we should read too much into that.

Hm, okay, that makes more sense, though I want to adress some of your points. 1. Yes, it could be Rum's mission to find spies within the BO and he could've also already found Kir and Amuro. But the thing is, if they'd be confirmed as spies, they'd either be imprisioned or (way more likely) killed after interrogations (except of course if Rum is another double agent). Since Amuro will appear in the next movie, I have doubts about that something like that has already happened. 2. I looked over interviews, postcard hints and the manga chapters and haven't found anything that confirmed or even hinted that Rum's mission is to deal with spies, so if you have any source for that could you link it please? 3. If you look a few post above yours, there is the confirmation that Kuroda has heard about Conan from the police, as he directly says to Conan in File 916 that he heard rumors about him in the National Police Agency. Dreamskye translated that as "You're quite well known in the Police Department" from the chinese scans, don't how accurate that is, but both have essentially the same meaning.
-
What do you mean with "found"? It was never the mission of Kir or Amuro to find/investigate Conan. I don't recall that this has been stated somewhere. Amuro has no knowlegde or suspicions about shrinking that we know of, so he couldn't give him much info. Kuroda got his mastermind theory from the other police members, it is unlikely that Amuro shared his mastermind theory to anyone in the B.O., especially after the Scarlet Arc. Again, the mastermind theory is not coming from Amuro exclusively.
-
She wasn't just scared of Sera when they met for the first time, that was her B.O. sense kicking in (it was probably because of Vermouth spying on them, but it was still the B.O. sense)
-
Hm, certainly could be her B.O. sense File 800 (feeling Bourbon) File 820 Although I spontaneously didn't find any occasion where Haibara was just plain scared without B.O. presence for comparison.
-
Thing is, the Nagano crew (Kansuke, Uehara and Komei) has been suspecting Conan to be the mind behind Kogoro ever since the Furinkazan case, so it's probably a widespread theory in their department. Or maybe Kuroda even asked Kansuke drectly what he thinks about Conan. File 680 File 682 File 874

Okiya can't be talking to Conan, because he is shown talking with Ran and Kogoro at the same time. It's probably Yukiko, maybe she was just visiting to check up on the disguise as they listened in on Ran telling the Professor about the abduction. That would also explain why Okiya has some convenient cream stem ready to show up at Agasa's house with: he was probably just cooking it for him and Yukiko and now she is calling him because she is still hungry to check if her son is okay.
