Yeah, Vermouth is Sharon Vineyard.
-
Hm, nice pick, although I don't see how he'd fit two of the three Rum characteristics. He's certainly an old man, but how would he fit the "strong built man" (he a rather thin man) and the "feminine" part?
-
No, that's not what you were saying. You were saying: Which I'm arguing is not the case. I wasn't talking about them knowing Conan's identity, I'm talking about them knowing Ai's.
-
Again, we have no evidence that they know. They call her little girl, they assume Bourbon is after her because she is connected to the FBI and not because of what she could know as a rogue agent and the picture in the backround when Jodie and James talk in 677 is Ai, not Shiho. Yes, they could know and they probably should know, but as I stated, what characters could and should know is often not what they actually do know.
-
Look closer, that's not Vermouth's eye and not Akai or Sera's either. Vermouth doesn't have such a sharp line at the side of her eye and doesn't have lines under her eyes. Akai/Sera/MG would fit better, but they only have one line under their eyes, while the eyes in the trailer has two. It's not Vermouth and it's not Sera or Akai.
-
Yeah, it's most definitely not Vermouth. I admit, her eyes look different in this trailer than usual, but they do not look like the two eyes, with the two lines being the most glaring difference.
-
Well, it's close to Shuu, but the second line under the eye is not something the Akai family has. Maybe it's a disguise, but then it could be anyone really.
-
You know, that's not how you do spoilers here. Also, there is a seperate thread for speculation about Rum here: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/forum/topic/5102-discussion-thread-about-rum/ Additionally, maybe you should post who you speculate to be Rum without censorship, if you're already putting it in spoiler tags. And maybe you should also support your speculation with some sort of explanation, that would be helpful.

The thing is: they don't know, at least from what we can tell. They know that Ai is apparently Sherry, because Vermouth called her that, but we have no evidence that they know that Sherry is supposed to be an 18 year old teenager. Jodie questions Vermouth, whether Ai and the woman from the picture on her dart board could really be the same person, but she never gets a straight answer; she also doesn't figure why Vermouth calls Conan "Cool Guy", a nickname that is proper for someone of his age in Jodie's eyes, instead of "Cool Kid". We know that Akai knows, but we can't say the same for Jodie; Akai already figured out that Ai is Shiho before the confrontation with Vermouth, yet he didn't tell Jodie. The confrontation in the harbor with Vermouth make it seem very likely that Jodie knows, I know. But here's the big BUT: we have never got any 100% confirmation that she knows and if Detective Conan told us something recently, then it is even something seems incredibly likely, it can't be safely assumed unless it's undoubtedly confirmed. I assumed that Conan knew that Sera is Akai's sister until earlier this year and when I asked everyone shrugged and said "But he should know, right?". Well, turns out in the recent chapters that he didn't same know. I also read about people being shocked about learning that Jodie didn't know that Conan is Shinichi in the Scarlet Return. As of now, Jodie doesn't know Ai's identity is what I'm saying.

Vermouth, Akai and the Unknown Child don't have matching eyelines either. I don't think any character in DC had two lines under their eyes so far.
-
Yeah, that episodes really stands and falls with whether or not you think that Funachi is more funny or more annoying. I'm somewhere in the middle, she neither really annoyed me or made me laugh, but at least it was interesting. Liked it more than 796, that one was more standard stuff, which I find boring in one part AO's.

New one for File 937 (31.10.2015)

Well, the animators also gave us this lovely picture from Episode 557, which of course also wasn't in the original manga. The animators fuck up all the time and make shit up, I wouldn't give these things that are entirely unbased from the manga, too much of a thought honestly.

First of all, this description comes from Sera, who doesn't know that Shuu is in the FBI apparently and who doesn't know that Shukichi is a legendary Shogi player. Her description could come from their childhood, where Shuu always did the work (strong) and Shukichi always talked a lot (smart). What she says can hardly be a real factor when it comes to judge the true capabilities of each brother. Furthermore, Shukichi is pretty smart yes, he has an amazing memory and is the best Shogi player alive and the second one ever who managed to achieve all 7 titles. However, that doesn't mean that he is better than Shuichi or Shinichi at solving cases. The two times he investigates with Conan, he manages to solve the mystery roughly at the same time as Conan or slightly after him, which is about the same time Shuichi usually needs to solve cases too. I doubt Shuu would willingly get his brother involved, just because he is as smart as him, there's simply no need. Also, I doubt Shukichi deduced what kind of job Shuichi was doing, at least from what we can tell in the series. Doesn't look like he gave much of a damn about his family and focused on playing Shogi.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 936-938 Girl Band

You keep saying that you are sure that Conan has contacted the Boss at least once. Why? We have nothing that suggest that he did, he even himself said that it is too dangerous to call or investigate the number. You keep repeating this point, but you have no proof and keep arguing against solid counter-arguments without anything backing you up.
-
Helio already answered most of your points, I agree to all of them, so I'll just point another few things out. Yes, Shinichi was on the list. 工藤 新一 means Kudō Shin'ichi That wasn't a line from Episode 1, it was a line from Episode 394. In the final part of the scene, he heard the shots, it's pretty clear that he did and he also heard the commotion of the BO retreating from the roof, I was referring to the earlier scene where Chianti shot out his TV dish.

Gin doesn't know that Shinichi is alive, otherwise Gin would have captured Ran, possibly Shinichi's parents, staked out the Kudo mansion or done anything else to find out where Shinichi. You try to argue this in all threads, but Gin thinks that Shinichi is dead. We don't have a single line of dialogue where Gin ever suspects that Shinichi is still alive, even during the Halloween Party he doesn't think that Shinichi could be alive. Conan hasn't figured out the Boss. How would he have? Highly unlikely. There is no indication for this, no hint, no nothing. There was even a joke question in one of his Q&A's whether Mitsuhiko is a shrunken teen too and Gosho laughed and exclaimed "No way!" Why would you think that Rum is a shrunken person other than just throwing stuff into the room without any evidence, indications, hints or anything to back you up. Making stuff up that just sounds cool, but has no substance whatsoever, isn't a good thing to post honestly. 1. He knows because Kir is under observation from the BO, as Gin explains during Black Impact: 2. Kogoro heard the shots of Akai and reacted to them. He didn't hear the shots of Chianti shooting out his dish, because the window was closed and he had the television on a very high volume. Plus, he was pretty engaged in that horse race and probably spaced out watching it. Plus², does incompetence coming from Kogoro really surprise you at this point? 3. Yes, Gin wanted to kill Kogoro, but Vermouth talked him out of it later. I don't know what's supposed to be unresolved about that. If anyone who is not from the BO calls, texts or tries to investigate through official channels, then the BO will track you, hunt you down and kill you. It's Pandora's Box because once you open it (call it in that case) they'll be onto you and it will bring misery to your life. Conan for sure hasn't texted the boss or talked to him, it would much too dangerous as he and Haibara conclude during the episodes "Big Adventure in the Eccentric Mansion" Stop making stuff up, it's really annoying.

Flaws, contradictions, and plotholes in Detective Conan
Serinox replied to Kaitou Kid's Killer's topic in General
So, you're saying that Gin should be suspicious because the media didn't cover his death? That plotpoint was resolved, as Haibara said, there were search teams who went throught he Kudo mansion twice, before they ruled him as dead. Gin has no reason to think Shinichi is alive. -

But Shinichi didn't appear in the media or anything (it was a plotpoint that he avoided media coverage during The Desperate Revival and the Shiragami Case). He solved some cases over the phone, but nothing the media would ever talk about and Gin would have no way to know that Shinichi solved cases over the phone. If anything, Shinichi's sudden disappearance from the media would just confirm that he is dead to Gin (if Gin would remember him, which he doesn't because he kills so many people that he doesn't have time to remember all of the faces and names) -
He only asks that because Vodka asked him if he remembered him, to which Gin said no and Vodka also concludes that Shinichi is not alive when he sees Heiji pull off his Shinichi mask. Gin definitely doesn't know that Shinichi is alive, otherwise he would've taken in Ran or anyone else close to Shinichi already.

Flaws, contradictions, and plotholes in Detective Conan
Serinox replied to Kaitou Kid's Killer's topic in General
That's neither a plothole nor really a flaw, that's a common device of storytelling, called Floating Timeline or Comic Book Time -
1. So, the tapes Elena left for Haibara have been left by herself...? Haibara is Akemi's mother, shrunk herself and pretended to be her own child? And if she did that, why is she surprised by the APTX's shrinking side effect? 2. The stories of the movies have no influence on the manga story and are completely seperate, so Phantom of Baker Street won't have anything to do with the story.
