[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 931-935: Zombie Movie Murder Case

Yup, it is not going to far to say the maid seems kind of suspicious, it is not like Gosho to do things such as introduce recurring characters for no reason. It might have been possible that she was introduced to be a connection between Chiba and Naeko, but then did Gosho really need to make her question Conan's double personality? Going back to Shuukichi, I really expect him to be Rum at all no matter what actually.

In no other case except that of Vermouth have we had some many clues and then got fooled, now Vermouth was an extremely important character reveal, should not be the case with Shuukichi. I think Okiya was a bit too obvious to be Bourbon when he first appeared, another clue that he was Akai was that he appeared right after the Akai arc. I believe by ep. 704 we had more than enough clues to determine he was Akai, and we were not trolled.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 931-935: Zombie Movie Murder Case

File 932 spoilers by Fujiwara: -
For Heliotropic: Congrats for getting the 463,364th post! (palindrome) So for now we can say it wasn't anyone too obvious, since Gosho realized it later on, or so it seems at least. For Jimmy: Yup, I know you are not suggesting he is the mid brother, I was just saying it would be way too pointless if that's the case and also a bit far-fetched, besides it would make all the deductions we have made about him since the bowling case useless, so I just don't even want to consider that being a possibility. I know this is also far-fetched, but what do u guys think about that old man in the night baron case? I remember him being one of the minor suspects for being the boss, but it might make sense if he is RUM. A major problem is that since we know RUM has not really made a very direct appearance and could literally be any random character, Gosho could have changed his identity any time mid-way so it would be hard for us to just guess.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 931-935: Zombie Movie Murder Case

I agree with Jimmy, it is probably gonna be Megure, I don't think they traveled too far. I think there is also a similar chance for Yamamura to appear, we often see him in Heiji cases and yuurei/youkai cases like vamp and kamaitachi. I don't think Sango really has much to do with big cases, dont remember any long case he was in, but if I had to choose I would wish for Kansuke. However I have almost no knowledge about Japanese geography so I have no clue where this could be, but probably not too far, like Conan and Ran asked where they r going almost after reaching there and some other minor things that r obvious like Conan said "you were hungry not too long ago" whereas he had the mushroom somewhere in Tokyo I guess so they shouldn't be too far away. Would be interesting if it's Megure though, don't remember any spook cases with him so far. EDIT: Does anyone think this case could possibly go on for 7 or 8 more files? It would surely be one of the longest non plot cases then... -
For Jimmy: Nice catch! Might be either a coincidence or Gosho playing with numbers; I can say I am pretty sure it won't be related to the plot. Secondly, the "types" of smiles were clearly different in all three cases, I don't think that is enough to determine Shuukichi is Rum, besides if we trust what Gosho said he has not appeared before. Now as I have mentioned before, it would be ridiculous and awful if Shuukichi turns out to NOT be the mid brother, and him instead being RUM would be the stupidest joke ever, I might even leave DC if that happens xD BTW Shuukichi is kind of taken from Yoshiharu Habu, considered the best shogi player ever, I doubt he would be made one of the bad guys in the series, instead, in the long term I think he might give some intellectual advice to Conan and co., he seems to be one of the very few people who are smarter than even Conan(Conan solved the intro case thanks to his hint) and as Sera mentioned before, he is clearly smarter than Akai. For that matter, he might even be a part of the Akai vs Bourbon clash because Bourbon IMO is far more intelligent than Akai though he is great too. PS: I just realized some of you are saying there are not too many ppl with one eye so we can't say there are many suspects, but there is a BIG difference between one eye and one fake eye, and in fact since Ai said it's hard to tell which one is fake it might very well be unnoticeable, so right now the fake eye would not be a good idea to eliminate someone from being a suspect.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 931-935: Zombie Movie Murder Case
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
Well I do hope this to be as long as the vampire case(that's also horror related, can somebody confirm if it was around halloween too?) so I think this case is gonna be pretty complicated... Can't wait for the next file Who wants to bet we are gonna have another murder next file? ^^ BTW did anyone notice most of Heiji cases are being ghost related now? Vampire, Kamaitachi and now zombie -
This might have been mentioned earlier but Gosho somewhere (Sherry's soliloquy probably) said that RUM had already appeared before the kawanakajima or whatever case, therefore, if kuroda did not appear before(probably not, because he was in coma for 10 yrs) he is probably not a suspect. I think this thread should be more active, so who is the most likely suspect at the moment? Unlike the boss, we know for sure that RUM has appeared somewhere before. Another thing, although RUM might have a reason to be in all caps, I don't think there is one, simply because Japanese people, especially when it comes to manga, don't use small English letters often, so RUM would be more natural than rum or Rum. Also, Gosho probably avoided katakana mainly to avoid confusion with LUM or anything else but of course there is the chance of it being a short form for something too.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 931-935: Zombie Movie Murder Case
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
What do you mean by that? I personally think it might have to do something with the case. IMO so far nothing too impressive... I have a hunch that this case might get more interesting over time, because so far even the Teitan Elementary ghost case seems to have been more interesting of a horror case than this xD I feel that this case might go for 5-6 more files(because OBVIOUSLY it's going to end around halloween) if it doesnt have more than one or two breaks before the case ends. -

This case reminds me a lot of the drama case (ep. 21) Thinking about that case, Japanese television recently had a remaster right? May 23 as mentioned by the Wiki. Now I don't know if remasters are planned or not but if they are, there has to be a reason behind so many Yoko appearances, though I doubt it has anything to do with BO. Didn't understand it xD Wait, so who are Spade, Heart, Diamond and Clover? -

Finally it came! Heiji is in it so I have a feeling it's gonna be an interesting case^^ Keep it up Aoyama! I think just a coincidence or Aoyama's editors told him to get her more involved because she is kinda popular. Minor question: The japanese version releases on Wednesday right? Why does the Chinese one release earlier? PS: I hope Okino has a personal appearance I don't remember her having much of an appearance after ep. 425 anyway. Added later: -
Hmm... I totally forgot about "the time". Now that you mention it, what could it be? would be interesting if it has something to do with MG or even Shuukichi. Well, when I say she is avoiding I do mean AFTER the pool case. If she wanted to discuss about it she had several opportunities, the simplest being calling Conan alone once more. It is clear MG is the one who told Sera not to discuss anything yet, MG probably doesn't completely trust Conan yet. Gosho is just playing with us =.= There are so many things that need to be clarified, and instead of clarifying them he just seems to be posing more problems for us :/ though I must admit, no matter how bad I want all the mysteries in DC to be solved, I would be very sad when it ends so I think it's good how it is Irrelevant stuff follows

If Gosho left it at similar appearances, I might not have been convinced that shuukichi is the middle brother, but then he made them both have the same quote. The quote is also not something popular that many ppl might know because we have never heard anyone except shuukichi say it before. BTW I don't think we should mind little details like whether he is the best in memory in the world or not about the quote, he might very well be so, being so good at shogi is exceptional and he doesn't really need to have participated in other international competitions to prove something like that. I would have been rather surprised, and even disappointed if Gosho revealed Shuukichi to not be the middle brother after the quote part, but the phone conversation is too much, if Gosho says he is not the middle brother, I would really be more disappointed than surprised. I also thought when Conan said that they are in sync he might have meant it is just a coincidence, but his facial expression didn't seem to be like that, besides he probably wouldn't be even bothered to think something like that. In conclusion, I believe there have been too many 'obvious' evidences proving Haneda to be the middle brother, such as Akai watching him on TV and his face resembling Akai and Sera quite a bit.

IMO, even if she DID say it is 6-7 years old, she might be wrong. As she said there was only ONE mouse that had de-aged, and no human up until Shinichi, the second probably being herself. If I remember correctly, she is 18 and Shinichi is 17, if we say there is a certain ratio the age is decreased by, for eg. 17 becomes 6, then in that ration 18 would become 6*18/17, which is about 6 years and 4 months, therefore we cannot guarantee that Haibara and Conan are the same age even after shrinking, Haibara might still be older by the same ratio. In that case MG's age should be around 45 max, but if we say she is about 50 that might make some sense. In other words, she probably did shrink after Conan and Haibara. The only reason I am skeptical about it being silver bullet, is because I personally believe silver bullet to be something that stops aging, or slows it down drastically, which can explain why Vermouth "never ages", and I don't believe silver bullet to be a carbon copy of 4869 that just shrinks people. Still, if the ratio theory I said is true, then MG should ideally be about 35-36 because MG looks more like a 12 y.o. than a 15 y.o. in DC. However that wouldn't make sense because Akai is 29 or so. I don't understand why Sera suddenly started to avoid the topic. She seemed to be very interested in introducing MG to Conan in the pool case, now she is completely avoiding the topic.

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
Well even though Akai saw scar Akai, all it meant was he found out somebody was trying to impersonate him to get the FBI's attention as Akai and Conan expected of the BO. It practically is not their first meeting because neither Akai met Bourbon nor Bourbon met Akai. I mean neither of them knew who the other person is so Detectives' Nocturne was the first time akai actually saw Bourbon around. About that, something I don't get is that why was Akai surprised when he saw him? I'm sure Conan would have told him about Bourbon. Besides, in that case kai should have cautioned Conan by telling him how Bourbon looks, and more about him. I also wonder if Akai informed Conan about Bourbon right after he saw him in ep. 674. PS: In my opinion it might be a little far-fetched to think Okiya was trying to hack Bourbon's phone number, it just seems so unlikely. It isn't that easy to hack a phone anyway right? And even if he did, what difference would that make anyway? -

By the way just remembered something obvious, if MG did take APTX 4869 it obviously had been taken after Shinichi, so less than one year ago in DC time. Another thing, when I first saw MG it seemed she resembled Haibara a lot, more than even she resembled Sera. At that time I didn't know about this Elena theory so I thought it was just a coincidence, but thinking now, it might really be why MG resembles Ai. Wow interesting. I thought it was taken from a different anime. If I remember correctly, you mean the Heiji episode right? I remember that female detective, but it was just one case, must have been really popular to be behind Sera, yet Sera literally in no way (except similar deduction abilities) is similar to her, they are very very different. I too liked that character and thought it was a pity that she turned out to be the murderer. If ti does continue till 2020, do you think we will see Kaito vs Lupin III? Yeah, I think I can call movie 13 a troll. Movie 5 didn't do much but even though minor, it kind of confirmed that Sherry is not secretly trying to harm Conan. Another reason I believe it would be unfair to have another troll BO movie is because this one has two very important characters, Akai and Rei, and if we do see them clash it is unlikely that it would affect the plot in no way, however if it indeed doesn't affect the plot, then it must be a total troll, like they don't even meet or something lol. Gin's "Bourbon, Kir, masaka" was quite obviously nothing important, but I think the movie won't be too interesting without any plot development, though I might be totally wrong because I don't think movie 13 was bad either. Plot or not, the minimum I would hope is that the movie kinda touches on the Akai vs Rei clash and we get a full case in manga around the time the movie releases about them. Also as I said, this is the 20th anniversary so I am expecting it to be above average, and since it will have to succeed to movie 18, Lupin, and then movie 19, all three of which kept setting highest gross records one after another, it better be something that all DC fans will enjoy

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
Souka scans have translated file 930 Thanks a lot to them!! ^^ Added later: Just read the translated version, nice ending PS: @57 I think the "friend" is Sera, I don't think Yukiko would get involved in something as minor as this. Also, just a little change in hairstyle and clothing and glasses should be enough to trick a person who has met the two only once briefly and is probably more concerned about getting revealed. -
I am pretty sure this is in some way going to lead us to Elena. Can't think of any other reason why Gosho spent so much time on the Akai family. Well, Shuukichi himself was very popular and Gosho decided to make up Sera. I read somewhere Sera was not a part of Gosho's original plans. I think(and wish) the series will go on for a few more years. Hopefully the RUM/Akai family arc should give us a lot of information, even about Haibara's parents, their death, and silver bullet. BTW, I also think next year we might have another FBI vs Bourbon case, and the mystery about Scotch will be revealed. That's because we got the scarlet arc right after Movie 18, so if Movie 20 is not a total troll(hopefully not, 20th anniversary after all), then we should have quite a bit of plot coming by next year Didn't notice it Guess a change in style maybe. We see that often in the anime anyway

[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
Thanks! Didn't know that could be done Ah I see! Never watched that anime but I remember that reference Haibara made when Conan mentioned RUM Guess that bottle(RUM) is a reference to her name LUM, which should be pronounced the same as RUM in Japanese. Cool ^^ Haha guess she is a space oni then xD -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
No, I don't think it was hacking. Well, you see, a key component for hacking is to know the cell phone number of your target! xD No way did Akai know Bourbon's number in Detective's Nocturne. One more possibility to eavesdrop is the radio receiver Akai used in an older case(The four porsches maybe, not sure), however, I don't think Gosho would go that far I would still say that Gosho didn't intend on giving any such clues with the phone calls. Just random, but it was a nice scene when Conan showed his "young Shinichi face" taking off his glasses with Sera showing her vamipitic tooth:D Are there any theories that say Sera is a vampire? Double post fixed -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
Thanks for the info! By the way, about the phone calls, couldn't they have been from random people? (for both Sera and Okiya) I think the entire reason why all three(Bourbon, Sera and Okiya) were on there phone was to confirm one of them is Bourbon, yet not reveal which one. I don't think Gosho intended to give any further clues. By random people I mean, you know like department stores or insurance companies xD I don't think either Okiya or Sera had to be too secretive of there phone numbers back then. However, as I said, there isn't enough evidence for literally anything. -
[SPOILER DISCUSSION] File 928-930 Ramen revisited
EthanHunter replied to User 4869's topic in Manga series
i think as of now there are too many possibilities and there isn't enough evidence to determine which one is correct. We just have to wait and watch ^^ I really liked this case, has there been any announcements on what the next case would be about? I initially thought it would have Sera again with more plot info, but that seems unlikely because Conan was walking alone at the end of the case.
