  1. Also just a rejoinder, the Highball=Rum +Coke is not a a valid idea. In Japan highball is referred to as Whiskey + Tonic water. (So it's a stretch.) Also snatching the codename of an alive member and putting it on Muga doesn't look something probable. (The answer was about the dead agents, unless you make the claim that Wakita being former Rum got into an accident and lost touch with BO and the codename got inherited by the new Rum.) but that also is a very bad argument. It would mean George Washinton is American president and not Trump. Cause if Rum is a codename for a single person, Gosho is referring to that person only. I can imagine that someone coming and making an argument that Kuroda, Wakita and Rumi are just labels, so how can we be sure that by referring to Kuroda, Wakita and Rumi Gosho was referring to this trio and not Yui (whose name is Rumi in a secret society of female cops), Kansuke (who goes by the alias Kuroda when he goes to out investigate.) and Komei (He uses the Wakita as his handle name on a Kong Ming appreciation forum.) ? Just like you point to the (failed) /(damn incorrect) foreshadowing, one could say the trio appeared with a Rum suspect, hence they are Rum candidates and their prosthetic eye is hidden ?
  2. Well If Rum wasn't wary about Asaca song case why did Vermouth and Bourbon was sent to assess the situation and take a call accordingly ?
  3. The problem is the retrieval of the string won't be possible. Also in the third case the measure will ensure that all the accessories will have pointing their handles/holes(though some don't have it) towards the door. So they would be swept towards one side. Not a solution unless those are taken care of. Another problem is this, the tension ends of the knob would be very close, there won't be any force difference to generate the torque unless one applies force by using a string from outside. Which again will be an issue during the retrieval.
  4. A serial killer case, sounds interesting...... BTW on a separate issue.... There possibly no former Rum...... Gosho said Rum is a single person. Gosho also said ``One among the trio is indeed Rum.`` Former Rum isn't a Rum anymore.........
  5. I do think it's Hoye Kuroda. Wakita and Wakasa don't seem anything likely to be a culprit.
  6. Something still bugs me, why did Rum allow Soul detective to rant about Kohji case resolution but was very wary about Asaca song case?
  7. So imo Nishino guy is the culprit. In these sort of scenarios where a bunch of people get stuck at an abandoned house/church/school, the default culprit is the one who had arrived last. Now given Komei's input that the avalanche was caused by a bomb and the car park destruction, it can be easily done by the person arriving last, anyone can beforehand do this stuff but time bomb type devices won't work here(as there is no set time for the entry of the guests.) Another solution is remote controlled trigger but that also is sort of impossible because the avalanche had happened a bit earlier and unless the culprit is sure that everyone has reached the destination such a trick is no more than a random guess.
  8. First things first, the message which Bourbon received was "I want information on Kudo Shinichi, Time is money(Toki Wa Kanenari), Hurry up Bourbon."................RUMNow this is an odd construction of the sentence as "Hurry up Bourbon ." is a directive assertion, which really negates the meaning of the idiom. It would have been a proper sentence if the idiom was at the end.(As then it would have meant that why Bourbon is being told to speed up.)Now this idiom in Romaji is TOKI WA KANENARI>> rearranged a little and we get Wakita Kanenori. So why is Rum cryptically taking Wakita's name??Now a likely solution is that somehow Rum was hinting to Wakita, but then the question is why?(If he wants Bourbon to defeat Wakita in the race of getting info about Shinichi, then Hurry up Bourbon would have been just enough.)The real solution to me is Rum wants Bourbon to gather info on Kudo Shinichi as well as Wakita Kanenori. Now the latter is named in a cryptic way because of obvious reasons. As Wakita being a BO executive would have some allies in BO, if Bourbon got a direct order about gaining info on Wakita, then the message might just be too easy to interpret and Wakita will get warned. But even if this message is leaked, nobody will think it alludes to Wakita and btw the most insightful mind in BO is expected to decode this rearrangement quite easily.)The sweatdrop on Bourbon after receiving it also shows his dillema, probably he somehow knows Wakita personally and probably thinks that wakita is a possible infiltrator in BO, so when Rum asks him to get dirt on Wakita Bourbon finds himself in the exact same place where Rye found him when he was ordered to kill Scotch.Given my current speculation, that wakita=Tsutomu, this development might just be the bridge needed to be there to further that Suichi vs Amuro plot.
  9. Your Rum, theory is quite good but if Rum really was Muga, could Kohji had resisted like that? Won't one knee strike or elbow strike of Muga would have finished him off? Also if I just twist some a point or two of your description, I can easily fit Iori=Asaka theory and given his prowess I'm afraid that he might even be Mary drugger.
  10. This is my Wakita speculation. https://www.reddit.com/r/OneTruthPrevails/comments/6ot1ya/akai_tsutomu_wakita_theory/
  11. Kuroda's coma is a very interesting topic at least for me. 1) His whitened hair. 2) His changed looks. 3) His amnesia about some parts of his memory. These three things are very curious, but after doing a little bit research on hair whitening, change of looks during coma and the amnesia these three things are not really that much suspicious looking anymore, though not beyond doubt. The hair whitening due to increased Hydrogen Peroxide due to lack of Catalase enzyme seems a legit cause. In Coma the enzyme activity of the body gets lowered so this can happen. Also it was mentioned that the nurse who opened up his facial bandage was surprised due to the change of his hair and looks. It never means that the same nurse when bandaged him saw his black hair and original look and within one dressing the whole stuff changed. So now with this notion out of the question, would it mean that the nurse had seen Kuroda before and was shocked to see his hair turning white and the change of his facial features? Also burning scars don't take that much of a time to heal, not surely 10 years. Even if it was a third degree burn needing skin grafts, it would get healed within one year. Also only his right face shows burn marks not his entire body. Also the scars indicate skin graft wasn't needed. So surely it was very unlikely that the bandages were still needed even at the fag end of his coma. Also there are problems with Kuroda was switched with "Fakuroda" theory. Don't forget the target here isn't your average Joe, he's an NPA agent lying in a Coma in Police hospital under top security. To switch him with someone, people would need help from the to echelon of NPA. Also if looks were going to get changed then why the doctor didn't declare that the accident was so severe that plastic surgery was needed?(If it was a cover up, the consultant doctor had to be taken into confidence. So if it really happened and it was a cover up, then this statement would have put every speculation to the rest.) So as of now, I'm having a different angle, what if Kuroda was the Japan's representative regarding the Kohji case? Kohji was a Japanese person, so it's evident that if he was murdered even on foreign soil Japan would at least investigate his case?(Kohji was also no average Joe.) Now Kuroda gets closer to the truth and BO/Rum(more likely) attempts an accident to get rid off him. But fails to kill him. Now Kuroda after waking up is keeping a low profile and secretly working on Kohji case so that he doesn't get into Rum's radar once again. But currently Rum is on the move,(according) to the intel of Kir. So probably Rum has got the news of Kuroda waking up so he got flustered and is planning to put everything at rest for once and for all.
  12. I know it, but can't ignore if this happens to one of the Rum suspects, for obvious reasons. Can be totally normal thing, but can also be a clue if Chikara is Rum. So I just shared what I had spotted, might just be another over alalyzing of the stuff.
  13. Muga, Muga, Mugaz......everywhere.
  14. I just spotted an anomaly(?) in chapter 899. Just when Shukichi gets to leave the Shogi finals to save Yumi, Chikara looks up at him. Which is pretty obvious but what is more baffling is the way he's depicted as looking up to Shukichi. Gosho seems to give the readers an exclusive direct/face to face shot of Shukichi, while putting the supposed manga-reader in an oblique place just behind Chikara. So from the reader's perspective Chikara should look a bit oblique(as mentioned in my diagram), but the obliquity wouldn't entail the user to see his eyeball as it would be focused on Shukichi. The real issue here is that Chikara's face should exactly face Shukichi as he's looking directly at him. From viewer's perspective Chikara looks more tilted towards his(Chikara's) left. His left eyeball should be more close to his nose bridge than it's in reality. As if Chikara tilted his head a little to his left to get a fuller view of Shukichi, and the positioning of his left eyeball also is somewhat odd. It looks rather to be focused on the left than on Shukichi. Generally our line of vision is exactly perpendicular to the imagined Vertical plane which just touches the back of our head when we're moving our head to focus on something. In the case of Chikara's left eyeball the line of vision is not locked on Shukichi. Chikara can very well have a Prosthetic eye.
  15. No, my gripe is that, if you look the black-boxed portion of the image you would also find the shard residue sticking to it. That portion of the mirror is also missing but had no writing. Only reason that I find plausible is, it could have broken after the impact and flew off due to the impact force. I'm getting exactly same circumstantial evidence in the "U MASCARA" part. There's another big piece missing on the right side of the mirror(refer the second image) which is also not shown in the follow up image. So, I'm safely assuming the impact force was so massive that it did send bigger shards out of the near vicinity due to their increased momentum and thus countering the air drag a bit more than smaller shards. So that's why we get the wing and the heart near the mirror and the "U MASCARA" part a bit further(that's why it's not covered). But still these are all circumstantial stuff, the clincher is probably the backing, the marks of glue still on the backing, the stuff not being found on Kohji's bathroom(Only his room was messed up, nothing is said about the bathroom, where the sink is.), the presence of the running water in the wrong room.
  16. Just decoded the true Kanji reading of Wakita's name. 脇田 兼則 , where 脇 means "Side ,3rd party." 田 means "rice field", 兼 is very closer to "detest, hate." 則 means "modelled after." Now there's a fungus used in rice fermentation known as Koji fungus and, the rice is called Koji rice. So I can now speculate that Wakita is related to Haneda Kohji case and is modelled after someone(Danpei tange), is a side character in that case and hates something/someone(probably Rum).
  17. The method that you mentioned still won't explain the smaller fragments still sticking on the casing of the "U MASCARA" part. To be elaborate, we can see exactly similar residue in the black-boxed area. We also can't find the residue of the glass containing "EL" of Juke Hotel. The explanation that I can give is just like the "EL", "U MASCARA" had not been photographed separately(like the mirror or Kohji's hand). Juke's presence is worrisome as you've mentioned. But I also tend to think that this coincidental mirror clue revealed a good part of Rum's social name, that's why BO boss and Rum are so edgy about it.
  18. Or An elementary school teacher with weird habits or a Sushi chef with a blind eye. But I would rather prefer Kuroda.
  19. [I know I'm going to kick a Hornet's nest over here, but I've reasons to do so. If this post challenges your opinion don't bother replying(I don't like debating "How can you violate an established opinion(despite unverified)?" type users; if you feel my reasoning is flawed reply only then, with your corrections.] I'm discarding the mirror as a dying message left by Haneda Kohji. I know it's a big step but I've a plethora of reasons to discard it. As You can see(the encircled places on the mirror by red) shards protruding from that place. The cut isn't clear and definite proof of a crack(not a cut by scissors under water). Some pieces are still stuck to the casing. The protrusions of the encircled(red) places gives clear indication that the mirror wasn't removed from the casing, else such small pieces wouldn't be stuck to the the frame. You can't cut this without removing it from the frame. The small piece which I encircled in yellow shows two definite cracks separated by a small distance, which further proves that the cracks were caused due to the impact. The pieces encircled in blue are the mirror's pieces, which was found nearby, another proof of the impact.(Agasa mentioned that smaller shards would be spilled everywhere as water molecules will break up the glass by travelling through the cracks and the constant flow of the tap will only increase this process, so smaller pieces would be spilled around the sink, but in the mirror we only find bigger pieces missing.) Removing the casing argument will also won't work due to the points I've risen on the point number 1. The black marked spot is showing another piece of shard residue sticking to the casing. I'm yet to be convinced that Kohji touched the mirror in the first place as nothing is said about his fingerprints on the mirror. Does it mean the message is worthless? Absolutely Not. From BO Interest we already do know that "U MASCARA" were the letters in Rum's social name and Haneda knew Rum's social name. So Rum is someone from Haneda's acquaintance circle. This Mirror message is one of the many co-incidences happened in this Manga.(Like Shinichi's very first trip to Tropical land on the eventful day.) So then what was really Kouji's dying message? Checkov had already pointed this out, the cause of the bruises were a defensive scissor-grip. The bruise in palm indicates that Haneda held something(likely a Shogi piece) and hid it by holding the scissors in a defensive position and dies while it was in his grip.(That's why the bruises are still on the body.) This is the real dying message, but currently the object is missing. That object(shogi piece) is probably the clincher in the Kohji case. Now time for some speculation. Chikara Katsumata's name has Kanjis that have different readings. This is the stuff according to DCW " 勝又 力 " it can also be interpreted as "[KATSU MASARU TAERU]MATA [CHIKARA TSUTOMERU RIKIMU]".(the things in the square bracket is the alternate reading of that Kanji) The Kun reading of the "Osho" piece of Shogi is "KIMI [HIKIIRU MOTTE HATA]"
  20. That news is supposed to be a front page news. But Wakita seems to be reading the 8th-9th page. It can happen that the extension of that story is reported on the 8th-9th page, but generally in my country, 8-9th page is reserved for Editorials/letter's to the editor/ and/or regional news mostly focusing on prefectural/regional news which is mildly intersting(not murders, killings, etc.) But that would be a flawed simile so I'm desperstely looking for a native Japanese guy/girl who can shed some light on it.
  21. I personally think that Kuroda is a infiltrator in BO who made BO believe that they can put him as an infiltrator in the Police. He's surely after Kohji's killer/Rum, that's why he's so fixated on the website which uploads Kohji case mystery. But when we saw how he recalled the website in his memory when he was drawing a parallel between the pose of Kohji's body and the posture of the Golfer when he was knocked by Rumi. Also Rumi's picture made him go after her, so probably (it's my opinion though) that Kuroda saw Rumi near the crime scene of Kohji case, I think Kuroda never saw Kohji's body but had a chance to hang around the Juke hotel(Crime scene). So he may be an ally of Shukichi but he's a rival of the Mori's(Ran and Kogoro). Which prompts me to think that he's an infiltrator in BO with close ties with Shukichi.(Akai Tsutomu).
