@Shuuichi Akai I'm guessing that question was retorical, so I will state only that I was musing upon that fact and not pointing it out as something I just noticed. Also, I think we're getting a tad off subject~
-
Yeah, that case is coming back to me now. It was, in fact, the one when -- I think I got my cases straight now, haha. Gin sure is ruthless. <:
-
@Shuuichi Akai Ah, really? I might have my cases confused. There are so many of them, a bit difficult not to. Regardless, such an event where Gin has threatened Vodka's life has occurred before.
-
@Shuuichi Akai I cannot recall the exact episode/file, but it was the case when Conan and the Detective Boys were looking for a boy's older brother, Probably got a few patches in the timeline and information, but that's the basics of what I recall happening. Also, Gin has said information (or similar) on his character profile. "[Gin] even once pulled a gun on his own partner, Vodka, when he went against orders and rescheduled a meeting with one of their contacts outside of the organization."
-
Agreed with dfjkiller. I suspect an older person wishing to gain immortality or something of the sort having to do with age, as a good bit of the Organization focuses around age (Vermouth's mysterious youth, age-defying pills, etc.) -- it's really quite suspicious. Who knows, though, maybe it is someone in the poll that really would surprise the readers/watchers. Already posted most of my thoughts on the subject in another Anokata-related thread.
-
@RJB I'm equally confused by your posts, RJB. -- and there's the quad-posting again. I highly doubt that Gin is a spy of any affiliation, especially since both CIA and FBI want him and the others to be taken down. Yeah, he's made false attempts at killing Vodka, but that was because of Vodka's mistake, not because he's an enemy to him. It's very unlikely he'd kill such a partner otherwise, since he usually only kills (or threatens to) his subordinates when they make a vital mistake. Her code-name is Kir, by the way, not "Kira", otherwise, Rena.
-
@Shuuichi Akai I stopped reading those types of theories all together. @RJB Honestly, I don't believe you think through most of what you post -- not to offend you or anything, just to be frank. How could Kogoro be Anokata when he's been targeted/suspected himself by the Black Organization? They wouldn't go after their boss, and I'm pretty sure that they at least know some information on "that person" to give them proper judgement on who is who. To just point out something else, Kogoro certainly isn't what one might think of when s/he thinks of the head-honcho behind the Organization -- it's just extremely unlikely, just as it would be to think Agasa or the others you mentioned couldn't be.

What I see between them is this: Perhaps they did have a relationship together (though with Gin, is a deep one even possible? --the guy's a block of sharp ice), or maybe he just hates to see his 'prey' get away. He's a very intelligent person, and thus, I'm sure he gathered plenty of information (even as miniscule as her favorite color) on all of his 'underlings' so he could know their every weakness, their viewpoints/thoughts, and enough to bring them down if necessary. In actuality, I'm sure he doesn't have close bonds with anyone so he won't have to worry about emotions getting in the way of taking one down if necessary (like when he pointed a gun towards Vodka, whom is likely perceived as a friend). It seems to be 'just business' with Gin, and in my opinion, he's only focused on killing Sherry because of his pride or that he has the obsession of getting things done right the first time. It probably peeved him to no end that Sherry got away, marring how he appears to the others -- or maybe himself -- because he failed to 'take care' of her. TML's theory could very well be true as well -- he could want her back for power reasons, or just want to kill her because he lost that 'power'. Dunno for sure though, just theories and whatnot. Also -- RJB -- really? That seems like another one of those 'theories' that couldn't possibly be true. Though those types do seem to be in your specialty. Thinking out of the box--or just not thinking at all ?
-
Perhaps so--that would be an interesting yet simple way to fool the Organization. However... I'm not sure if that type of pistol (if any type) could actually hold paint gun bullets -- though perhaps modified? Nice theory to mull over though~

Since you are a member that's been here a while, like Shuu stated, it's not really necessary to welcome you. However, it is nice to learn a bit about you and your history with both Detective Conan and your life. I really find it interesting from the countries you've visited and the languages you know. How privileged you are, despite you aren't attending school anymore. :3 It's interesting to know the semi-humorous story behind getting to know Conan as well, and even more still that you are continually learning and furthering your education for Japanese (I myself am holding up on that endeavor for the time being, since I have other matters to worry on) and other languages.
-
@DetectiveRJB: I agree with Gentleman Theif, it is difficult to comprehend your posts, which makes it even more difficult to believe the theories you've exhibited. However, this is a theory board, and most of them probably aren't on mark anyways, since we cannot find the actual truth until later on, so I suppose such posts do belong here regardless (most of them anyways). Like Gentleman said there, I also am having a hard time believing that Akemi is Okiya -- and even a harder time believing about the 'secret marriage'. Regardless, each person to his own, I suppose~
-
@Shuuichi Akai Haha, I suppose that indeed the subject between the relationships between the two characters does have to do with Bourbon. Though I didn't want to get off into the subject of Shuu's 'death' and whatnot (as in the reasoning for his silence and disclosure to the others of FBI), which probably wasn't related to Bourbon as much as the history between the two characters~
-
Wow what a subject to discuss indeed. What I believe is this: Okiya is Bourbon. It is hinted strongly throughout the anime whom he is, and I doubt it would mislead us so much, especially with Haibara's reactions and his drinking of his namesake (despite what DetectiveShinichi mentioned). Also, as Kir said Bourbon was, Okiya is very intelligent, among other things, which is likely to be yet another clue as to who that character really is. Bourbon is not under any disguise, as we see him constantly (both away and with the other characters) in the same appearance. I also have a high suspicion that something was done by Akai to either hurt him mentally/emotionally (perhaps he was a friend of his and felt to be betrayed when Shuu left the Organization) or perhaps hurt someone else in the Organization that Bourbon was affiliated with. I doubt in many more ways than one that 'Scar Akai' is actually Bourbon. Besides them being in the same place at the same time in close proximity to one another and Bourbon seeming interested that Akai seemed to be alive, there's another issue with that -- wouldn't the Organization know that Bourbon was the scarred Akai if he came out of the building and not try to shoot him? I mean, in one of the latest episodes (581?), it was shown that Chianti and the others were keeping a close eye out for Shuu, and one would think that if it was indeed Bourbon, he would let them know so he wouldn't be at suspect. Besides, there's really no reason (if if to lure the real Shuu out) that a member of the Organization would stoop to disguising as someone they despise so much (especially Bourbon, whom was said to hate Shuu just as much). On the point of them both smiling at the noticing of Chianti, I'm sure Bourbon wouldn't have waltzed out there in said 'disguise' of Scar Akai in plain sight, since I'm sure he would know the consequences. On that point as well, Shuu probably just smirked because he wanted them to know that he knew they were there--which, humorously enough, freaked Chianti out completely, just enough to allow her to lose mental control and giving more opportunity for Conan's plan to work out-- Away from that subject, yet still to Bourbon, I wouldn't be surprised if he already was highly suspect of Conan being Shinichi. It would seem that the fellow has quite the capabilities as a detective (probably the reason the BO chose him) and likely has figured out a lot just by seeing Conan work and being in Shinichi's home, noticing how everything's seemed to go missing and whatnot, among other things. It would be even less of a surprise if he put two and two together and exposed Sherry as Ai as well, even easier since he's right next door and can monitor much more easily. @ DetectiveShinichi : By my reasoning and from what was said within the episode of when Gin and the others saw 'Scar Akai', I would believe that "that person" actually was the one that wanted operations to pause. As Vermouth said, even "that person" was nervous. Perhaps so nervous that s/he didn't want to test what would happen, so it was ordered that Kir be spared and the others to pull out. Though, of course, none of this can be proven until the information is finally released and the truth is exposed. Just theories and facts, mainly, though I won't venture onto the subject of Shuu, as this isn't the thread for that haha~

I apologize that it took me so long to respond to your comment on my profile! I've been on and off of vacation and not had too much time to check this site, much less my page.
I do wish you well and say hello to you, as well as inquire as to how you are doing yourself, as I am quite fine in that category, currently. Thanks for the words though, they were quite pleasant. ~Peiji

Ah, how nice to have a supporting and helpful member to the site. It'll be nice to see the wiki pages when they're full of information. Right now, they certainly are lacking in most areas unfortunately, and it'll be great to see what you can do to them. Welcome to DC forums!

To be honest, I'm quite picky when it comes to anime I watch. If it doesn't get me right on, I normally don't watch the rest of it, so, of course, my list of 'watched anime' is very short, mainly just ones that have appeared on Adult Swim or that have been dubbed, even if not the whole series. (not including movies watched here--) 1. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - This anime was so amazing, to the very end. I liked that it focused on other characters besides the main ones and everyone had faults and goals and lives beyond what the main characters got to see. It also had a good balance of humor, drama, action, and adventure, as well as suspense and even a bit of mystery at times. It taught a good few lessons on life throughout the series like "walk with your own legs" and "fullmetal heart", with which got my attention well for the learning capability and touching hard-learned lessons. 2. Fullmetal Alchemist - Though not as good as the manga-based version, this series also depicted well the different characters' lives and the storyline well. I liked the action, drama, and fantasy/science-fiction within the series. The characters and actions were memorable, and so were the lessons. 3. Detective Conan - A very mind-working anime with intriguing twists and turns and a very interesting set of 'bad guys' as well as a multitude of characters. Has a great amount of suspense (love that stuff) as well as, of course, a lot of mystery and some good action, drama, and humor. Always up for balanced shows. Only downside is that it has a lot of fillers. 4. Inuyasha: Final Act - Though the first portion of Inuyasha was drawn out with a bit too much fighting and fillers, I found the pace that sped up the story-line in FA to be quite pleasing. With twists such as multiple character deaths and turns such as new events occuring and old ones finally ending, it really kept me interested in the series til the end. Nice set of characters and culture and legends as well :> 5. Wolf's Rain - This anime was very nicely done, in its pace that wasn't too slow and didn't have a large multitude of episodes nor fillers, as well as its nice variety of characters (despite the cast was small-ish, but that's certainly not a 'bad' thing), and general storyline. The action was nicely placed and the characters were intriguing, and it was nice to see them all heading for a goal other than the cliche 'champion of something-or-other'. What I really liked about the animation in this series is how serious it was, even in its more humorous portions. No hyper deformed characters in sight, nor any speech bubbles or veins popping in the average anime fashion--a very clean-cut style. Actually, that's about the full list of what I've watched, Anime-wise (save for some I've probably forgotten, as they didn't make any proper impression--like GNG and Mametaro). Should probably expand my horizons some, but as I stated before, I don't like watching things that aren't so interesting as to grab me at the beginning or early on.

Mmm, I actually like quite a few anime OSTs :3 Though my favorite would have to be from both Fullmetal Alchemist series (original, non-manga, and Brotherhood). The composition of each song is so beautiful, whether or not it contains words. Each song can give remembrance to a scene, and some are especially made for a particular scene, which is quite special, since most animes just use the same tunes over and over again (unfortunately, DC is one of them). Despite that, by watching Detective Conan a lot and getting to know its music, I must say I like quite a few songs a lot from the openings and endings. My two favorites would be "Shoudou" by B'z and Mai Kuraki's "Secret of My Heart", though my favorite artist is Yoko Kanno, who does an arrangement of anime-made songs and others that are just too beautiful for words and vary a lot from one to another at times. Also found that B'z is quite the interesting band, song-wise as well (their song "Friction" is my favorite) and the other choices for music in Detective Conan are usually just as appealing. Regardless, a bunch of Japanese Anime Soundtracks are lovely to listen to, and even though I'm not a pop genre fan of American music, J-pop is much more enticing. :> My itunes library is just chock-full of both anime movie and anime series music (movie-wise, mainly Studio Ghibli's work). Music is just so inspiring and uplifting and emotive, eh? Unless, of course, Conan's singing it!

The beginning makes me giggle, though I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's just because I adore when the 'bad guys' get a chance at 'winning'--despite that that was just a false dream.
-
@Silverbullet I agree on that point, that would be a possible conclusion. Though as Akai stated, it would be difficult to pull off a false shot to the lungs or head, especially. If thought from an unlikely situation, perhaps Possibly, he wasn't shot directly in the head or directly to the lungs, as it didn't really show where on the head he was shot, just him falling back, blood, and where her gun was aimed, didn't get to see much more than that. It's difficult to determine exactly by sight as well as to where the bullet landed in his chest. With Rena, it's possible she could make it seem like that--after all, she is of CIA as well as the Organization, and they do seem pretty capable, especially with the FBI Shuu being the target. Still quite the controversial subject. I doubt that what was said by Judie Sensei is true about his loss of memory--though maybe he did lose his voice or just was hiding it in the bank robbery episode--as he seemed to be able to zip right out of sight again after saving Conan. The sneaky fellow could and probably is very much alive, just keeping secretive--as that's one person I'm sure Gin wouldn't forget being dead under his watch.
-
Hahaha, dunno whether she's a 'good guy' or a 'bad guy' nowadays. ]: Though yeah, it was a real shame when Shuichi 'died'. I've always wondered how it would be possible to pull off a fake death or something that serious and come out with only a burn--and alive, being that that's actually him (hopefully so, he was too cool to lose). Mmm of the good guys? I'd probably choose, for a plot twist or something of the sort, Heiji to die. He's great though, and it would be a real loss, but it would really stir things up, ffff

Since watching it first, I've felt that the thirteenth movie (Ravenchaser) is the best of the movies. The Black Organization really kicks butt, but also gets kicked itself, and the action and suspense is quite gripping. However, the tenth movie (Private Eye's Requiem) is also pretty great, as well as the eighth (Magician of the Silver Sky). :> Most of the movies tie for fourth and etc. best though. They all have good points in them.

Well, it would be likely that Vermouth would be dead/hospitalized/unable to work for the BO, so he wouldn't have to worry about her anyways, but if she did survive, she would probably have just as much of a grudge against him. She probably (in that case) would have killed him when she realized he was Conan when she had him in her car. What's more, the Black Organization would have already taken him out if not her, since she stopped Gin from having 'Detective Mouri" killed (along with the 'kid' with him). Shinichi would be screwed, basically, haha. Besides, Vermouth is a source of information at times when he has her cornered or she just feels like giving him information, so he'd also lose that.
-
@Shuichi Akai: That is a clever deduction that by ranlovesshinichi's quotes and name that s/he would support that pairing the most, haha. My favorite quote's always the "one truth prevails" quote, as well as the quote from the New York case that's already been mentioned. Vermouth's quote, "A secret makes a woman, woman," is also one of my favorites, if not because it's 'true', then because it identifies her throughout the series.

Because I'm just extremely curious at twelve-thirty AM, what do you do at this time of night? I either am watching anime, drawing, playing video games, or watching tv -- unless I happen to just be goofing off or sleeping. I'm also bored, haha. I shall slink off to bed momentarily, in that case~
