Ignoring the fact that this comment ticked me off, I'm actually not a huge supporter of Ai x Mitsuhiko. It's just that I don't really support Ai x Conan, and that Mitsuhiko seemed like the next best choice for Ai (and like I've said in another thread, my theory is that Ai will decide to stay a kid, and she'll slowly become more interested in Mitsuhiko as he becomes older and more Mature). I've also considered pairing her with Saguru Hakuba ( I think she has more in common with him than she does with Conan).

Positives: 1. Although the pairing is one-sided at the moment, Ai does have a certain amount of respect for Mitsuhiko. 2. Mitsuhiko has dreams of one day becoming a scientist, while Ai is sort of already a scientist. 3. They both have older sisters with similar sounding names (Asami and Akemi). That's all I have for the moment, but I'll try to think of more.

Well if you think about it, yeah, he is smart. It's just that he really only shows his true intelligence when a case has personal stakes for him. In most other cases, his incompetence comes from his laziness rather than being an idiot (he only seems like an idiot when compared to Conan).

I am going to quietly disagree and say that they do match. Shinichi loves Ran too much for him to move on to move on to a different girl. Besides, my parents don't look like they match and yet they seem to get along perfectly fine.

Ai would never do that, because she sees Ran as an older sister like figure. Also ShinRan is definitely more canon that ConAi.

Agreed. But I should let you know, once I latch on to a pairing (in this case Shinichi/Ran) I never let go.

I had this dream last night in which I was reading a magazine that said that Shinichi was going to get with some new girl who has never been seen in the series before. Obviousily it was a dream, because we all know Shinichi's going to get with Ran! :grin: ShinRan Forever!!!

After watching some of The Clash of Red and Black, I've become more convinced that Conan is in on Shuichi's suppossed faked death plan after watching a scene in which Conan and Shuichi seem to have an offscreen conversation with each other while they're at the hospital. And in another scene in which James Black was saying something about how Shuichi was the FBI's trump card, they showed a seemingly random shot of Conan who was in the same room at the time which caught my attention.

I have this theory that Conan knew about Akai's fake death plan, and that's why he's being so trustful of Subaru Okiya, because he knows who Okiya really is.

That's true. To be honest, I actually kind of like Ai. I just don't like pairing her with Conan. I'm more of a Ai and Mitsuhiko fan (which I admit is kind of a bizzare pairing considering the age difference).

This is exactly the point I'm trying to make. However, I don't want to start a shipping war, so I'm going to stop right here. Shinichi x Ran ftw!!!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a lot of people on this forum have been leaning towards Ai/Shiho x Conan/Shinichi. Is there anyone besides me who still pairs Shinichi/Conan with Ran?
