This appears to be a-someone-probably-China-related-is-breaking-the-internet-infrastructure that has nothing to do with DCW or with infections on people's computers. While there is plenty of room for uncertainty at this stage, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be the Chinese government again since WPKG appears to be an open source software deployment and distribution tool, not unlike Github which was attacked recently. If it is the CCP again, I pity the poor Chinese people who are going to get caught up in the internet tangle between the CCP and the rest of the internet organization constituents who wants to stop them from doing this sort of thing.

I am glad to hear that. I don't follow AA fan theories in much detail. If multiple people reach the same conclusion, then chances are it's right. An entire fandom guesses pretty accurately in my experience at least as far as my experience in other fandoms goes. That's interesting. I don't know what to make of it. Wait, is there a legit reason for people concerned about this? Did Capcom say anything about being unsure? Layton vs AA and Dual Destinies both made it and did well which is a good sign. AAI1 and AAI2 were a bit of an anomaly (they weren't court games), but the reception for DGS looks much better.

That slash across Baroque's face is relevant to a case in his past. Maybe his daddy got killed by.... ...Moriarty as the final boss. (If we are lucky we get a sniper Moran too. And a Jack the Ripper, just because.) Things that bother me. Kazuma wears his armband on the opposite side as Ryuunosuke. Payne wears his on the same arm as Kazuma, but it may be that prosecutors go in reverse anyway. Why the difference? I don't think Kazuma is left handed because in the game play sample he looks to be drawing his sword with his right hand. I can't help but notice Baroque's face looks a lot like Kazuma's if you slicked the hair back and greyed it. Are they maybe related? Baroque's clocktower office has suits of armor that look a heck of a lot like the ones from Gant/Lana's office in Rise from the Ashes. Those suits are bad news IMO... Name Guesses (All in Western order - Given Family) Apparently a tradition for AA fans to do this. I never knew. -Quick Note: I'm not buying the theories saying the Japan half will be set in Japanifornia and that Japanese characters with get anglicized names. Honosuke Raito for Ryūnosuke Naruhodō - - He keeps a Japanese sounding name because he is obviously Japanese. Honoo (Hono for our western tastes) is for "fire" and nosuke is for the "herald of". He's the fire herald, and also a reference to the fire phoenix Houou. As a translation benefit, if any unavoidably draconic puns must be made, they can reference fire breathing. Raito is Wright backromanized. When the ancestor naturalized, he switched his name to an English-natural spelling like many immigrants do. Ichi Ouchi for Taketsuchi Auchi - Ouchi makes the pun a little more obvious and encourages English speakers to pronounce it right. Ichi sounds like "itchy" which in the context of an ouchy is unpleasant sounding - a good feeling to capture for Payne and his ilk. Ichi also means one, which makes translating Auchi's inevitable "I'm the best" boasts all that much easier. Susa Mikotoba for Susato Mikotoba - It's a Japanese name. The given name drops the -to so it sounds a bit more feminine to western ears. Susa can pick up Susie or Susan as a nickname for English benefit. "Miko" is a fairly recognizable Japanese word (a priestess) and "Mikotoba" is fairly easy to say. The family name is unlikely to be used often since she is an assistant so it doesn't matter if it is unfamiliar. Kaze Asōgi for Kazuma Asōgi - This guy is tough because he will need a Japanese name. He might as well keep the original (A reference to teamwork and one truth), but I think some things can be done to make the breeze motif come out more. English-speakers, and especially Americans, are somewhat likely to know the word kaze (wind) from the suicide pilots' kamikaze (divine wind).. Bram Valkyr for Baroque Bangieks - This is a hard one because Shu declined to name the references. Bram is from Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, since I'm getting a pretty strong vampire vibe from Baroque. I want the given name to start with a B like the Japanese counterpart. The family name needs to reference something to do with psychopomps or the underword to complete the prosecutor's theme. After drawing many blanks, I picked Valkyr, an obvious reference to Valkyries. It covers ferrying off the fallen, fighting, and flying (to reference the shadowy bird wings we saw in his intro). It also starts with a V like the Japanese counterpart (V/B being a thing in Japanese). "Prosecutor Valkyr" sounds awesome enough.

If Kuroda is a good guy and replaced Matsumoto on orders of the Secret Police, I wonder if he was moved there to pursue Rum or another problem. I assume Kuroda has a mission and needs to be in that position in order to watch or influence someone/something.

Totally offtopic for this thread, ontopic for AA, I made some predictions for Dai Gykuten Saiban at DCTP's thread on the subject. Read with care, especially that first spoiler box about who is definitely going to die after the first case. The second one is safe.

Hey, I just answered that with a wiki edit: Shuichi Akai figured out that Ai Haibara is Shiho Miyano sometime after he first noted her appearance in Contact with the Black Organization. In Secret of the Tohto Film Development Studio, Akai asks some FBI agents to surreptitiously photograph her. Akai then carries her photograph around in his truck in The Four Porsches case. He thinks aloud that her appearance is "too similar". It is confirmed that Akai had discovered Ai's true identity by the Showdown with Vermouth. Akai remarks that he is not willing to confront Haibara yet. Since the fake child identity "Ai Haibara" came into existence only very recently and had no direct interaction with Akai, he must have reasons related to his past with Shiho for him to feel unwilling to speak with her. It is uncertain whether he has told other FBI agents about this information. The reason Akai didn't figure out Conan was Shinichi sooner is because he didn't know about Shinichi. (He met Shiho before, so he had a head start on Ai's case.) He had to learn from Ran, Yukiko, and investigating the house as Okiya.

Let's try the harder question: How would you order them? Lol, it's fine. I didn't mean to sound scary, it's good to ask questions without being caught up with everything! (DC is way too long, so it is understandable) The mystery ending girl was a much bigger deal when the ending was new, it gave many people who don't read the manga (and wouldn't know the character was invented by the anime people) the wrong idea. Theories about this character propagated around on youtube, tumblr, and a few other places. It is certainly true the anime sometimes spoils new characters, but that is usually in the openings. Sometimes people edit the wiki pages here without doing any fact checking, and that is what drives me bonkers. It is a nice ending though, I like the fact it does have a story to it.

Exactly what MeiTanteixX said. This rumor is really persistent and just needs to die. Character doesn't show up in manga = not important. No, these girls aren't Sera or Sera's mum or Elena Miyano or anyone else either. They are just random made-up characters to give the ending a story.

I wouldn't mind side characters contributing on major issues leading up to the final showdown (The FBI, Heiji, whatnot) but I think the true final showdown should only centrally involve the core characters from either side: Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Ai, the Boss, Gin, Vodka, Vermouth. Too many extra people just clutters the plot and takes away from the impact.

An IP on the wiki said they were. They said Kaito and Jii's magic van showed up at the end or something? Is that true?

I am getting the strongest impression she tried to kill Akai but miscalculated. The only reason Vermouth wouldn't kill Akai is because she wanted a silver bullet, but didn't have one she liked better yet (Conan). She tried pretty hard to shoot Akai in the showdown with Jodie, so I don't think Vermouth has nice feelings towards Akai.

I only remember the manga version of the scene well. Here is what was going on. Vermouth was told to kill Akai, because the boss feared Akai might become a silver bullet. (Gin mentioned this was her mission at some later point, forget where now.) Vermouth disguised as a long silver haired Japanese serial killer. One thing that isn't clear is whether there already was a real serial killer matching that description, or if the man was a character Vermouth made up and committed a murder spree to create. My impression is that the silver haired serial killer was someone Vermouth made up because she wanted him to look like Gin to arouse Akai's interest. It would be much more of a pain in the butt to locate a real serial killer before the police and hold a dangerous guy alive for sacrificing than it would be to make your own after finding a suitable look-alike victim who wasn't criminal by nature. Anyway, she lured Akai out while disguised hoping to get a chance to kill him, but either Akai figured out the ruse or was simply too good and shot her before she could get him. Vermouth was forced to flee and stage a suicide. Before she could stage the suicide, she encountered Shinichi in the building and then fled from him and ran into Ran...

That reminds me, I need to update the list... I assume Elena, like the many other times she was talking about it, was referring to her eventual disappearance. Rei seemed to be about 7-9 in that scene which would place it ~20 years before the current timeline since Amuro is 29. That fits with somewhere around the time (+- 2 years or so) when Akemi was 5 and the Miyanos visited the Dejimas. The real question is why would Elena go get herself knocked up with Shiho if she knew she was going to disappear well before Shiho was conceived. We also know the Miyanos were recruited about 30 years ago, so we can guess Silver Bullet related research started then. The meeting with Amuro would be 7-9 years after Atsushi joined the BO. I'm pulling all these reference points from the relevant wiki articles btw. Honestly with the way the Gosho's plot breeze is blowing, I'm kinda worried that Elena will turn to be MI6 or something and her disappearance was a fake death to boost her and Atsushi out of the Organization. (Why her kids were left behind is a problem of course)

Whatever it is, keep in mind it's pretty much confirmed that Gin and Vermouth have been together. Unless Vermouth is a cheater and the boss doesn't care, she isn't going to be the boss's lover or wife.

What the heck is a german-looking person? I've never met a white european who could reliably tell apart someone's nationality/country-of-ancestry by facial characteristics alone, and Japanese generally don't have the benefit of growing up around a whole bunch of Europeans. ... Anyway, I'm inclined to believe that the Japanese must have some sort of stereotype about what Germans look like. That makes a heck of a lot more sense than Amuro magically picking out a German from all the Scandinavians and British and Americans with German ancestry by face alone. Andre (French and Portuguese form of Andrew) Camel? (A word that came from arabic/hebrew --> Greek --> Latin ---> Northern French before finally entering middle English?) I am in no way buying that Andre Camel sounds German in the slightest... I am inclined to agree.

I have the latest version I think, and it is still messed up. I also whitelisted DCW for flash, and that hasn't fixed it either. Derp. I am a master in reading comprehension.

Huh, Firefox 37.0.1 here. I know it isn't a script issue. Does DCW run flash, because that could be it? Otherwise I just don't know. Also, newest Fire emblem game, I don't want to choose my destiny by bloodline or fosterage. Can't I just pick the side with the coolest colors of justice?
