Love Conan Fujiwara: Just real quick then: Gosho says that the name Gin comes from Kurosawa Jin and that that name is actually written next to the one that sounds like Vodka. He's asked how many people are in the org -- many. Is the boss Japanese since the text messages are in Japanese? Vague answer about people being very attentive. The Gin/guest book thing then follows from a remark (by the interviewer) that Gins mother tongue is also unclear.

For me it's because Kaitou Kid has a track record of being in terribly stupid or nonsensical cases, like those involving ceramic guns and iron diamonds, or wordplay cases which can't be solved by non-Japanese speakers. He also tends to balls up the otherwise good cases he is in - like the Mystery train which was foolish because Conan's whole plan hinged on being able to identify Kid and force him to cooperate which doesn't really make any sense because it depends on too many things out of Conan's control. It would have been better to leave Kid out and have had Sera and Okiya do something cool because they were the characters at the center of the arc. The first three kid cases were decent, and a few of the ones where there was a murder and Kid is forced to the sidelines are okay too (like Seiran), but the rest I'm not that fond of.

We have switched back to have single case topics for cases that aren't likely to attract a lot of posts. Some people like me don't read case spoilers so remember to use a spoiler box for at least the answers to the case. I just noticed Ran is using her left hand on her phone on page 7. I am pretty sure she is a righty, so I have no idea why. Maybe she is covering it up for a reason. Why wear gloves indoors? With regards to Shinichi smelling the dead body, maybe it has something to do with the iron smell of blood. Well, it also isn't uncommon for dead people's bladders and intestines to release at death, so Shinichi might have noticed that odor. I was hoping this case might be the place that sounded like waves that would trigger the Masumi Sera flashback, but it looks like a no go so far. I like the shark transition to Shinichi; I think that will look really nice when animated. It's good to see Gosho sometimes thinks about that sort of thing. It's amazing how much more of an arrogant jerk Shinichi was before he got turned into Conan.

Unfortunately, there is no schedule. Detective Conan is definitely a "hurry up and wait" series because it is one of the most difficult to sub animes; it has more speech and technical terms than virtually any other anime out there. If you are interested, you can always search for the manga case for this chapter which was published about a year ago.

She usually knows perfectly well when Ran is planning one of her get Mom back with Dad ideas and goes along with it anyway. If she expected Kogoro to be the one to do the work, she wouldn't bother to participate. Eri keeps giving him chances and goes along with his ploys - even the really stupid ones like pretending to forget about her birthday to lower her expectations first, despite all the immature sniping about him she does at his expense. You have to remember in Eri's mind (and Kogoro's for that matter), that Eri left and it is Kogoro who needs to shape up if he wants her back. And to be fair, while Eri does contribute problems to the marriage with her sarcasm and queenly attitude, Kogoro adds a lot more problems than she does with general irresponsible and immature behavior and sarcasm back. Both of them are immature, but the one who needs to change the most here to get it to work is Kogoro. Why? Im not seeing anything that risqe. It will pass away on its own if you don't make a bigger deal out of it.When discussing Eri, there are are a lot of outdated attitudes about women being the main source of various problems in this thread. Usually the Detective Conan fandom attracts a higher proportion of mature people, so reading a thread like this is a bit of an unwelcome surprise. Demanding sex in exchange for any action is disgusting no matter who is doing the demanding, and so is the attitude that believes it is acceptable to do so. Honestly I think, at the beginning of DC, he is depressed and lost confidence in himself. Kogoro was kind of a lousy cop, had gone through a very rough patch in his marriage, and done terribly as a private detective. He started drinking a lot more to the point where Ran was the parent. To me, that looks like depression. People with depression have a hard time fixing the things they need to change most in order to pull themselves out of it because they have no confidence that it will change anything in the long run; they feel like a failure all the time. That's why we are seeing major changes now in Kogoro's bad habits as he has gained a reputation. He is getting his confidence back and pulling himself out of it. Looking at the divorce rates (And the initiators of divorce) and the reasons stated for divorce this is pretty accurate. Call it sexism, but until I see evidence otherwise I see that as pretty accurate.Saying that it is typical of women see themselves as a prize that is a great privilege to have is pretty sexist. Sure there are some shallow women who act like that, but there are also shallow men who think women are like trophies. Okiya mentioned he has a promise with a woman in the Froth, Steam, and Smoke case and it relates to why he refused to force Haibara to go with him. Since we know Okiya is Akai, and that promise isn't with Vermouth because Okiya isn't Bourbon, it most likely relates to Akemi and the PS because that is what fits. Given the context, Akemi probably asked Shuuichi if he would promise to watch over Shiho after she was dead. I think Akemi knew her death was coming and the offer from the Black Organization to let the sisters leave was a trap which is why Akemi decided to double cross them at the end anyway. She messaged Shuuichi to express her true feelings because she would have no other time to do so, and because Shiho has no other family - no one else who could pull her out of the black hell. Shuuichi has been trying to keep Akemi's promise since confirming Haibara and Shiho are the same person. Unfortunately, Akai has a weird socially awkward personality which means he tends to go very overboard on missions (e.g dumping Jodie partially because dating Akemi for real would be more realistic), so in trying to keep Haibara safe as Okiya he instead scares her because he feels more like a stalker than a protector at times.

No, Kogoro has kept his fidelity to Eri. How is Eri a tease? He flirts and gets touchy with other women in front of her. That's a pretty horrible personality trait for a husband. Lately it's been more bad luck for Kogoro then bad choices. He tries to do something romantic to show he really is serious then something turns out badly to give Eri a bad impression of him (exhibit 1: gets Eri a necklace, but packages are switched and he gives her a Buddhist bracelet sometimes associated with death.) Kogoro knows he shouldn't do these things. He's not stupid. I'm pretty sure he knows that's the reason why Eri isn't coming back. Hello sexism. No they are annoyed. Remember this is Japanese society, and it is considered improper to embarrass someone in polite company by telling them to get the hell away from me. Kogoro is being extremely rude by taking advantage of this to bother women, because they can't really do anything without shaming him or themselves. "Proper behavior" would be tough it out and try not to let happen again. I think men are a little stronger in self control than you give them credit for. Both Eri and Kogoro are immature in their own ways, but they are probably the most realistic marriage in this whole series. Marrying your childhood sweetheart (chances are they didn't seriously date anybody else!) and having your first kid at about age 20(!!!) is extremely fast. That kind of marriage usually has problems because people are still growing up in many regards at those ages. Over the course of the series Kogoro has matured more and more, and his attempts to convince Eri to come back are getting closer to the mark. Eri too is getting closer to Kogoro as well and realizing his heart is in the right place despite what he does while drunk. It's a matter of time and luck before a plan succeeds (at the end of the series no doubt.) Also this thread is a sexism landmine.

Vodka (and maybe Gin if you belive the rumors) was there with Shiho too. There has also been speculation maybe even the boss showed up too. We can't have the plot going too fast now But more seriously, Bourbon has it figured out that Conan is the one pulling the strings behind Sleeping Kogoro, but he hasn't yet heard Shinichi mentioned yet. Not knowing about Shinichi's existence could be one impediment to his investigation. (But then again Eisuke managed...) As for why he cares about Conan at all, we may not know all the reasons yet. He could just be curious, Vermouth had a promise with him about something, and Amuro knows Conan is working with the FBI. Maybe Amuro thinks Conan is in contact with Akai Shuuichi, but is trying not to tip him off he is a member of the Black Organization, so is being extra slow and careful? I wonder if Amuro's plan at the shrine was to hope Conan reacts impulsively and leads him to someone important. That's the only reason I could think of for why Amuro was following Conan at that time after setting the trap. (How many other times has he been following Conan before and since then?)

It's about the same Gosho interview I mentioned above. I am not sure your article says anything differently from what has already been said about the interview here on the forum: the boss has appeared in some form, but there no guarantee about him appearing in person with a face. I would trust our interview information because we translated transcripts from people who were actually there. The boss's full name has appeared information is old news, but again, there was never and still is no guarantee that there is a matching face we have seen to attach to the name.

Probably twisting news of the recent interview. Gosho explicitly said the boss appeared, but it's still up in the air if the boss has appeared in person, or just as a name because Gosho was vague again. Gosho wouldn't answer if the boss's face appeared. Sources 1,6,7, report Gosho said the boss has appeared in some form a "long time ago", but Gosho may have implied the boss could have appeared "recently". Contrast with Source 5 who does not report the part of the answer that the boss has appeared recently. Q: Has the boss appeared? A: He has. If you wait for Gosho, you lose the chance to solve it yourself! I think the Wizard has to be Shinichi because of the way Masumi looked at Conan in Volume 81, File 11 (861), pg 15-16, and Volume 83, File 2 (874), pg 8 when thinking about the Wizard. Conan didn't exist in the distant past when Masumi most likely met Shinichi (Masumi, while blushing, asks Conan in 876.11 if he once "met a girl he couldn't forget" a long time ago and was annoyed when Conan didn't remember), so the Wizard must be Shinichi and not Conan. If the brother is asking about the Wizard that either means 1) he doesn't know the identity of the person Masumi calls "The Wizard", and it was a coincidence he asked right then, or... 2) he does know Shinichi is Masumi's Wizard but asked anyway. The first one is a perfectly viable option logically, but I think the second option makes sense because the middle brother may have a reason to test if Masumi knows about Conan's true identity. I don't think Masumi has really told her middle brother about Conan's intelligence or his true identity before the bowling alley drowning case. That's why her brother asks who Masumi has been talking to about deductions (he doesn't know Masumi and Conan are working together yet), and Masumi thinks her middle brother will be surprised at Conan's picture (She thinks the middle brother doesn't know she and Conan are working together know yet). In short, Masumi has no reason to believe her middle brother would know Conan's true identity because she hasn't told him anything. That's why it comes as a shock to Masumi when the middle brother tells her that Conan is reliable. Masumi knows Conan didn't even exist until recently, because that's the last time Shinichi was in the papers and the first time Sleeping Kogoro started appearing in them. Masumi wonders how does the middle brother know about Conan then. (861.4) Masumi texts something we didn't get to see to her brother. The brother later sends a reply to Masumi that we also don't get to see, which makes Masumi react "Ah, I see. So that's how it is." In that same reply's PS, the brother asks Masumi if she has met the Wizard. Given the context, the single, most logical text Masumi could have sent her brother is a question asking how he knows Conan. Masumi's thought reply "Ah, I see. So that's how it is."(861.15-16) fits a conversation where her brother explained something after being questioned. The brother's answer, regardless of what he knows, is probably something mundane like "I met Conan during a case" or even "Conan met Shuuichi once and Shuuichi told me about how skilled he was" because telling Sera he knows Conan is Shinichi should generate a lot more surprise from her. Also there would be no reason to ask if Masumi met the Wizard because if he just told her Conan is Shinichi, he knew she did already meet the Wizard. The brother's answer couldn't have been something vague like I knew Conan from a while ago because Masumi would have caught that lie and not be satisfied. So does the brother know Conan is Shinichi? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the circumstances of how the brother knows of Conan. Perhaps Shuuichi Akai likes to consult on cases with his brother as well, and told his brother about the mystery of the little bright boy who appeared during one of his jobs. Personally, I think it was non-coincidental that the brother asked Masumi about the Wizard then, and he knows Shinichi is Conan because he believes in Conan's abilities easily. However, because Masumi has hidden her deductions from him, the middle brother does not know that Masumi knows Conan's true identity. Asking that question about meeting the Wizard was thus a probe of her knowledge. If she said yes, she must know. If she says no, then she is doesn't. If Masumi sent him a final text that was the same as her thoughts, "You could say so" then now the brother would know Masumi knows the truth of Conan. Personally, I think the after-effects from this exchange explains the sudden change in Masumi and the middle brother's relationship in between this case and the Red Woman Case and Romance Novelist case. Suddenly Masumi makes and then easily cancels a meeting with the the middle brother whom Masumi said was hard to find and out of contact and had rejecting living arrangements with her previously. The hotel she claims to live in wasn't the one she was shown living in before. Masumi starts flashing Conan pictures of a child to Conan in Red Woman who does not fit into her family as she has described them thus far. If the brother was shrunken by APTX, even if he found out Conan is Shinichi (perhaps through Shuuichi, perhaps through his own investigations), he might not trust the kid yet. (Bourbon hanging around the office, brother is very untrusting like most DC detectives) He might also not want to tell Masumi about his problem for the same reason Conan doesn't tell Ran, to keep her out of danger. If the brother just realized after the bowling alley case that Masumi knows Conan is Shinichi and knows about shrinking, then it makes sense for him to reveal himself to Masumi in order to ask more probing questions about Conan to find out if he is a good ally. Masumi of course wants her brother to work together with Shinichi and tries to convince her brother that he's a good guy, but she also teases Conan with the brother's pictures because she wants Conan to attack the truth of her brother from his side.

You don't have to go that far. It's not your fault or problem. We haven't had to lock any big threads for temporary bad behavior on the part of a few users, and I don't see that it is a problem here. It's really, really rare that a user gets reported for spamming. It's only happened maybe twice or three times in 3 years. Usually the problem resolves itself because the people involved realize they must have done something extremely out of the ordinary to attract mod attention. I think the people involved know who they are, and that they ought to respect others by focusing more on the quality of their posts rather than the quantity. I think this will most likely resolve on its own quietly without mods having to use mod powers.

Black Demon was modded because he is mature, responsible, and attentive. It had nothing to do with being a friend of Maurice. Also, no spammer's clubs please. There are no points or special rewards for having lots of posts.

If you search the interview thread, you'll find a quote by Gosho saying the similarities between Shinichi and Kaitou Kid are not a coincidental, but there has been no followup on that. It would have nothing to do with the voice actors though because they were chosen long before Gosho revealed that information. Still unknown. There is nothing special about the comb as far as I can tell, so I'm stumped. Maybe he was adjusting his wig with it? The way Shuuichi's fake death plan worked, Conan had to be a part of it and knew the outcome. Yukiko also helped with Shuuichi's disguise, and Agasa probably chipped in with a voice changer for him to wear around his neck like in Mission Impossible. Like User 4869 mentioned, Conan recognized Subaru's address and worried about what the fire meant even before they met. Conan knew from the beginning Shuuichi was in disguise and living in that apartment although he might not have known exactly which resident he was. That's what I suspect the Sherlock Holmes quote was about. As soon as Subaru mentioned Sherlock, Conan started acting friendly with him. Still unresolved, but I was just having this conversation with someone.
