  1. Yes, when Akai explained that he recruited Camel as part of his secret plan to return Rena to the Organization. She can infer he was lying to cover up his involvement. Camel told a lie about a non-existent wife because he was trying to hide that he was calling Akai from Jodie because Akai didn't want anyone, Jodie included, to know Camel was part of the plan to sneak Rena back. Akai wanted the FBI to initially act like they really lost Rena, so the BO who is watching the FBI will be fooled by their reactions. The truth seems to be Camel is a bachelor.
  2. That whole box is a computer image (not a photograph)... so unless it is a product that has yet to be made and sold but is being advertized now, it seems a little dubious to me. Usually products come in many varieties if there is a early advertisement; I'd expect to see the same graphic on other items as well, like lunchboxes, or binders, or shirts, or whatever is the norm for Japanese. Are there more products? It's also suspicious because it is still ~3 months before the movie. Where is the box from?
  3. The idea is that #1 would be personally implementable, that is I could set in my profile whether I wanted to ignore twitter statuses. #2 might work best if it was kicked in automatically after say, 10-15 posts. I care about the issue so far as I have an aesthetic dislike for spam and incomprehensible stuff. I don't use the status system all that often, and I rarely reply to other people's comments, but I think people besides me have indicated they care about it.The other side of the issue is that recently I have been deleting about 1 status a day for being spam or otherwise problematic. (Today was a fuck you, yesterday was weight loss, the day before that was a how to see if you have been unfollowed spam and another weight loss...) That's not that bad, but there was no problem before and it could get worse. The overwhelming source of stuff I have to delete is tweets from users with little community involvement (less than a dozen posts. Users with community status (CC, Parkur, etc.) are virtually never the problem.) That's why I think a good solution is to limit tweets to established users and/or have unestablished users request in if they want to tweet before that. Since you have expressed concern about decreasing the number of statuses, I think the effect would be minimal. Half of the statuses already are personally posted, and a good chunk of the people twittering (half of the twitter ones) are proactive well-established users. At absolute worst I would expect maybe a loss of a quarter of the status updates.
  4. This a bit different than personal tweets; as most statuses aren't Conan related anyway. The difference is that many statuses are directly posted with the DCW community in mind; these on average have more replies (an indicator of interest) than other sorts of status updates. With the ones from twitter, I see a lot of statuses with no context and are thus incomprehensible, or are ads, or are masses of #this #that #theotherthing #somemorestuff #stopnowplease. While of there are interesting individual tweets, on average they have lower overall quality in terms of "is this something I care about because it is related to people at DCW, Conan, or anything interesting in general". I can't filter out the twitter tweets either in order to bring up the signal to noise ratio. In terms of what to do I see a few options: 1) Having the option to ignore statuses originating from twitter (may be implementable) 2) Only allowing users to link their twitter to the statuses after some condition. It could be after a certain number of posts, or by asking to be whitelisted in a particular thread. 3) Enforce specific tag requirements such as #Conan #DCW #DC, etc... (hard to implement) I'll collect a few days statuses here to illustrate the problem. mangalover (7 posts): Hi @tataww imakil (0 posts): anjir kekayaannya triliunan gini!!! sialan BUNNY DETECTIVE (31 posts): hahah i love snow it gets to make you stay home from school =p,...but then you got to make it up later -___- (6 comments) keiyakusha (9 posts): i think i catch a flu (2 comments) Whispers (3,560 posts): 100 guests!!!!!!!! 5. I was aiming to kill a spam, but the page hadn't refreshed in a while. m(._.)m

  6. Hey Heksu can you repost your status about this?

  7. I think I deleted your status by accident when I was trying to delete a weightloss spam one. They all changed when I hit the delete button and I saw yours for a second. I'm really sorry.

  8. Well, she cried a bit, but she seemed to forgive him. There was one line in Mitsuhiko's mystifying case (35-10 p10, bottom right panel, far right bubble) that was really badly translated that made it seem like Haibara hadn't forgiven Conan. The line is really "Even my sister... Before that certain incident, she gave off that scent."
  9. Kyuu is pretty respected deduction wise; we had a go at each other about this very topic coming up on three years ago. Your theory is pretty good for a start.Kyuu wasn't nice about it, but I think what he had in mind is the biggest clue which really cements that Akai pulled a trick: disappearing blood-trails/moving body. It's the result of Akai swapping himself out with Rikumichi's body which had been dressed up to look like him. The most common version of the Akai fake theory is here: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Akai_faked_his_death_theory I am sure you will notice many similarities to your theory. Welcome to DCW by the way.

  11. I was hoping we would get a peek in on what Sera is doing now. Or Amuro. Or Okiya. The breaks are out of the way at least and since Gosho works on the next chapters during the breaks, something interesting must be in the works. I recall Gosho once saying that Black Org stories are more time consuming on average to write...
  12. I've noticed a large uptick in spam posts from twitter posts in status updates over the past month or so. I have also seen a few users with less than 10 posts but a metric boatload of status updates not Conan related. Also I think it is nice to see DCW member specific or Detective Conan related status updates versus a bunch of random stuff with no context. On the other hand, twitter does add lots of posts which keeps things fresh and may introduce people to cool things. Should we de-twitter the status updates? Should we have conditions (if implementable), like they have a #DetectiveConan #DC #Conan #DCW #DCTP, etc... tag or something similar? Thoughts?
  13. Hacked as in someone tampered with your account? That's kind of serious, so I want to know what happened just to make sure it doesn't happen to other accounts. I noticed lots of spam updates have been coming from it. I'm a mod by the way. Nice to meet you. This account? http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/forum/user/13269-mangalover/ I can try to fix it for you.

  15. No. Based on the past, Friday-Sunday would be the most likely expected time for spoilers. They could be earlier, but I am not going to expect it.
  16. That's pretty interesting. I watched the original Gundam, but not the Zeta. How did Sayla fit into all of this?
  17. Gosho's interview says the name of the boss has appeared. Personally, to me that indicates the boss has likely not physically appeared because it is weird to intentionally specify the name only when you could say more simply the boss has appeared.
  18. It requires a lot of rereading and copious note taking. I probably have gone through DC in its entirety somewhere between three and five times, and plot-related chapters over a dozen times easily.

  19. I suppose erasing Okiya is another way of saying Okiya leaving the storyline. Okiya could, for example, go back to being Akai, go back to America, or die.
  20. I think he was also deliberately acting dumb. If you read down to the wall of words, I explain why I think he threw his first case on purpose to have an excuse to get close to Kogoro.
  21. Re: "Is it hard to do the research and analysis behind your theories. Just curious, the question's been aching at the back of my mind for a while."

    ...What's the question? ^_^;

  22. Those evil walls of English words, blocking poor Conan from running around randomly while looking dramatic. Luckily Hattori learned karate and can knock them all down... Also, Pokemon trainer goth Haibara wants to fight! But seriously, these openings have been getting weirder and weirder. You wouldn't know this was a mystery show at all by watching it. I wonder if that has effects on the number of people who actually watch the show? I mean if I saw that, I wouldn't be sure what to expect and might flip the channel thinking it was some fighting magical boys type show.
  23. One of the reasons a lot of people don't think Scar Akai is the real Akai is because it would be strange for Akai to use his right hand for a tricky shot through a crowd of people when he could use his better left. Everyone around him was blindfolded, so using his right hand would not lessen suspicion because they couldn't tell what hand he was using anyway. There is a specific Scar Akai thread to discuss suspicions about Scar Akai (although most people have posted about him in the Bourbon thread):
  24. I think she did have a choice. She could have helped Conan solve the case without revealing she knew about him or Ran and then decided to hang around because she enrolled in the same school as Ran and is interested in meeting famous detective Kogoro because she aspires to be a great detective too. The way I see it, Okiya and Sera are both good and thus don't care what the other party (Haibara / Conan) thinks of them as long as they do/learn what they need to do/learn. Tohru is slightly less obvious because he did do a better job of throwing his first case and coming up with an excuse to hang around. Also remember Bourbon seems to have an ego problem. Just like how Shinichi and most other detectives in the series can't contain themselves, Amuro may have problems with holding back his full intelligence on cases as well. I think a bluff like that is too risky and complicated, especially since she has drawn attention and suspicion to herself. Because Shuuichi had Haibara's picture (the one I showed you before), so Sera suspects Haibara could be connected with Akai's disappearance. Nothing is hard to believe about her backstory. It's just that if Sera is Bourbon she is making it a lot for dangerous for herself without a good reason when other backstory options are available to her. It doesn't make sense to make things harder on herself if she is Bourbon because she has options. On the other hand, if she is Akai's good little sister come to find out what happened to him, staying in a hotel makes sense because she lacks Black Org resources and doesn't think someone might go after her (which the Black Org is always wary of security wise). A hotel is less safe than an apartment, there is no getting around that. Sera may not think Akai is dead, or she doesn't know what to think, or she holds out hopes. I don't know which and it doesn't matter so much because the end result of the plot will be the same. You are mistaken about Jodie. She chased after him too. My point is that you can't narrow down who Vermouth called without making assumptions about the identities of the characters. No info was given for who might be on the the other end of the line for the other two (which would help eliminate one or two of the three Bourbon suspects), so you can't use the phone call as proof Sera is Bourbon. I think Vermouth called Amuro, but I don't claim that scene is proof of that. Absolutely. The FBI botched by ...Getting caught sneaking into Vermouth's office while she was disguised as Araide. Failing to notice Vermouth had followed them and collected their addresses Were tricked when Vermouth disguised as Jodie to call off the arrangement to capture Vermouth Confronted Rikumichi poorly which alerted the Black Org to Rena's position, Rikumichi would have also successfully called the Org had Conan not disabled his phone - the FBI overlooked that. Panicked at a digitally altered broadcast when the Black Org sent bombs to the hospital and gave away Rena's room location.
  25. She is nuts enough to answer the door in a jack-'o-lantern costume nowhere near Halloween to scare young elementary school kids she met once at a campsite.
