You know you're addicted to Detective Conan when
detectiveshinichi replied to Maurice's topic in General
50 ways you know you're addicted to Detective Conan when: 1. You buy all the manga 2.You watch every episode 3.You watch every movie 4. You make an account or comment on almost every/every Detective Conan fan site 5. You want/try to learn Japanese 6. You want to visit Hokuei, Japan (aka Conan town) 7. You buy red sneakers 8. You wish your neighbor was a scientist 9. You read Sherlock Holmes (every volume) 10. Your dream destinations are Tokyo, Osaka, and England (To see the Holmes Museum, Dartmoor, etc. of course) 11. Your dream job is to be a detective 12. You know where your local police station is, have the phone number for the station in your phone contacts, and know the names of some/all of the officers ;-) 13.You want to train to be a detective in Hawaii 14. You then want to become a high school detective (or a detective) in Tokyo and work with the police. 15. You know the most random and sneaky ways to kill people (though you don't dare to do them, since you want to be a law enforcer, not a law breaker) 16. You wish Akai Shuichi could teach you how to shoot a gun 17. You go take a tour in Washington DC and pass by the FBI building and almost shout, "OMGZ Jodie and Andre and James and Akai work there!" (hehe, I soooo did not do that when I went to DC this summer... :???: hehe......) 18. You practice soccer while wearing the red sneakers you bought. 19. You perform non life threatening tricks in your room when your family is not home 20. EVERYTHING is a weapon to you. 21. You plan on adopting a boy and naming him Conan 22. Your siblings know violent things thanks to you forcing them to watch it. 23.Your favorite artists now include Mai Kuraki, Rina Aiuchi, Garnet Crow, Two-Mix, B'z, Breakerz, ZARD, etc. and your ipod has all the openings and endings on it 24. You now feel totally awkward around your childhood friend that's the opposite gender as you... 25. You always wonder if there's a spy among you (from the FBI or CIA) 26. People that wear all black are considered BO members, according to you 27. When someone mentions Gin/Vodka/Vermouth/Chianti/Korn/Tequilla/etc., you instantly think of that person instead of the drink. 28. You take robotics... just so you can learn more about how to invent things so you can build yourself a bow tie voice changer or a wrist watch tranquilizer 29. You know EVERYTHING about Conan... from his address to his birthday to his blood type (but you're not a stalker... ;-) ) 30. Your computer breaks because of all the videos/music/pictures/word documents/wallpapers/screensavers/icons you have of Detective Conan (my laptop's not gonna be available for a while...) 31. When you want to say something mean or bad, you search up the Japanese for it and say it (only Japanese, of course) 32. "oi oi" is the only way you express your frustration or annoyance. 33. You know the lyrics to "Growing of My Heart", "Kimi Ga Ireba", "Mune Ga Doki Doki", and "Namida no Yesterday" by heart 34. You love Two-Mix. Why? Minami Takayama, the lead vocals of the band, is the voice actress for Conan 35. You're like a stalker when it comes to Aoyama Gosho; you know where he's been to for vacation, his favorite genre (which is obvious), his marriages (and divorces), plus not only have you read DC, you've read Magic Kaito, Yaiba, 3rd base Fourth, his short stories, Wait a Minute, and Tell me a lie (which you wish was longer) 36. You search up all the detectives featured on the end of the volumes via Google; then you buy the books he recommends. 37. You know all the characters of both DC and MK 38. You now know some of the plot tricks Aoyama Gosho uses for characters (like the ways he makes good guys seem evil when they're really good; you've finally seen past that!) 39. You love Heiji, but you know you can't resist laughing when he gets angry (especially during the Detective Koshien with Hakuba, and any time he's with Conan!) 40. You have dreams of solving cases with Heiji and Shinichi 41. You also have dreams of working with Kaito to steal the Pandora Gem before Snake gets it and gives it to his boss and chaos strikes 42. You know the most random trivia, like Ran is Gosho's favorite DC character, and movie 1 of Detective Conan was actually based off of what Aoyama had planned to be the end of Magic Kaito, with a series of bombings going off in Tokyo. 43. You wish Magic Kaito would continue 44. You wish Shinichi and Kaito were cousins... and what they'd do if they found out they were :-D 45. When you make a Detective Conan fan site of your own 46. When you constantly search on YouTube for new music videos, openings, endings, AMVs, movies, episodes, previews, and more 47. When you are friends with or have joined a group/liked something or someone related to Detective Conan on Facebook or: 48. When you follow something related to Detective Conan on Twitter, or the official Detective Conan Twitter, which you translate by using Google Translator, then you get confused because it doesn't do a good job of translating the official DC twitter.... I mean, does Nau London or Rampo Mania that make any sense to anyone? 49.You're on team Ran or Team Ai... or both and reason number 50: 50. You wish you could take the APTX 4869 to shrink yourself so you could go solve cases while assuming the alias with the names of two mystery authors and living with your childhood friend who your in love with while wearing red sneakers and glasses every day, then hope to stop all people wearing black from doing evil deeds of murder and get back your original body. -
People I find annoying in the series: 1. Genta- First off, not only does he claim to be the leader, he gets annoyed at Conan and tries to get competitive with him sometimes when in comes to mysteries (in which he fails at) Plus, he's obsessed with eels. 2. Eisuke- I thought Eisuke was funny at first, but after his constant clumsiness, it gets annoying. Plus him saying he did all that on purpose to try to figure out if Kogoro was a bad guy... why did he have to be clumsy? Couldn't he have just simply made friends with Ran without purposely tripping and bumping heads with people? 3. Sonoko- At some points, I see that she's only trying to help, but she isn't. What really bugs me is that she's the first teenage protagonist to have a boyfriend (Makoto) but then she still drools over cute guys, and then she thinks there's a love triangle thing going on between her, Makoto, and Kaito Kid! Plus, her ways of trying to get Shinichi to return by making him jealous... it either brings out his perverted side or he has a nosebleed. 4. Kogoro- He makes the strangest deductions (funny at some times, annoying at others), a crazy obsession with Yoko Okino, and he constantly gets drunk! I love Eri and I wish she'd come back to Kogoro...but I can understand why she doesn't. Plus, he's very cocky (he takes all the credit without even wondering how he pulled off a deduction show while asleep), and he constantly hits Conan. At the same time, though, those traits make Kogoro really funny and one of my favorites. 5. Chianti and Korn- The two crazy BO members that have no emotions or rational thoughts, they just go along with whatever the boss says. Plus they annoyed me in the 13th movie (how dare they try to kill Sato and Takagi!) 6. The boss- The reason why he annoys me so much is because I can't wait any longer! I want to know who he is! (Don't we all?) 7. Gin- Ever since episode 1, I get very strong emotions every time I see Gin in the anime and manga...so much that I have to walk away from the book/computer to calm down. 8. Vodka- How did he ever manage to get into the Black Organization? Besides the fact he can remember faces and names of those he killed... he's not as intelligent as the other members. 9. At certain times, Ran has annoyed me. I can understand she misses Shinichi, but sometimes I feel Gosho portrays her in a very unrealistic way by making her miss him to a point where she cries all the time and wishes for him to return and is gloomy, even though she can call him at any time, he calls her, and he's come back a couple of times. 10. Misao Yamamura- He's really funny, in fact he's one of my faves, but if I were to step in any of the character's shoes... I would be really angry with that guy. Plus, in some files/episodes he just can't comprehend what people are saying.

Who's better off with Shinichi? Haibara Ai or Ran??
detectiveshinichi replied to Chianti's topic in General
Don't worry... I found it online and I burst out laughing by how ridiculous it was, that's why I wanted to show you! I don't find Eisuke to be all that special anyways either (besides for the fact I felt bad he had leukemia when he was little) -
What is the connection between Gin and Sherry?
detectiveshinichi replied to Kiel95's topic in General
If I were to guess, I would say that Gin met Sherry back when she was first introduced to the Organization. Based off of Gin's scary obsession with her, from his knowing of her favorite color: to her being frightened to death with just the thought of him, and terrified of being touched: knowing when she's been there just by seeing a strand of hair: to the images of her that float into his head (see bottom box on the page): I can only imagine what she's been through, based on his remarks, her sensitivity, and his thoughts.... I really dislike Gin. -
Who's better off with Shinichi? Haibara Ai or Ran??
detectiveshinichi replied to Chianti's topic in General
Ya! Well, Maybe not Jodie and James with the age difference (28 year old lady and 60 year guy). Maybe Akai and Jodie could get back together, and Ai gets a guy close to her age. (Let's see, if she's 18, then that leaves Eisuke as the only main character around her age that has nobody. Ai and Eisuke... now THAT would be a strange couple. The scientist and the clumsy kid that wants to be a CIA agent.) I also agree, Ayumi and Genta is a little.... strange. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko is better! -
I love: Heiji and Kazuha Chiba and Miike Takagi and Sato Shinichi and Ran (I like Shinichi and Ai, but it won't happen more than likely in the end) Ayumi and either Genta or Mitsuhiko Aoko and Kaito Shiratori and Kobayashi sensei all the married couples (Megure and Midori, Yukiko and Yusaku, etc.) Hakuba and Akako Akai and Jodie (it would be Akai and Akemi, but because Akemi is dead, I believe Akai should go back to his old girlfriend, who clearly still loves him) Kogoro and Eri (they need to get back together soon) Sonoko and Makoto Kansuke and Yui I came up with a couple... Officer Yumi and Dr. Araide! I thought it was funny at first, but now that I think about it, they seem like they are close in age and maybe...I mean, Yumi's looking for love, but it seems none of the cops are over Sato yet (either that or they really don't like Yumi, which I doubt)

Who's better off with Shinichi? Haibara Ai or Ran??
detectiveshinichi replied to Chianti's topic in General
I support Ran and Shinichi too, but I also believe Ai and Ayumi shouldn't just be abandoned in the end... hopefully they find someone too (obviously, Ayumi has both Genta and Mitsuhiko) I've loved Ran from the beginning, and so I believe her and Shinichi do make a great couple, I'd just feel bad for Ai if she wasn't joking and she seriously loves Shinichi... I love Ai as much as I love Ran... -
File 743 will be released in next week's Shonen Sunday (this week they were taking a break from the manga series.) They also decided to take a two week break on the anime, and are showing Sonoko's dangerous Summer Story parts 1 and 2 July 31 and August 7, so there isn't a lot going on this week. Shonen Sunday will be releasing a double issue with one Detective Conan chapter on August 4, and then on August 11, the series will take another 1 week break.

I think that Akai is alive, and I think the plan somehow is similar to what happened to when Andre was driving with Hidemi. I believe, first off, Hidemi and Akai (and maybe Conan) had discussed what the Organization might do if she was to join back in (while in the hospital). Somehow, Kir somehow stuck a hidden message into either the text or in her call, or otherwise Akai was already prepared and figured something like this would happen. He went to Reiha pass and investigated. He probably did notice the Organization a long distance away, so he purposely pulled his truck over by the ledge of the cliff, just like how Andre pulled his truck over to the side. He prepared fake blood beforehand on the spots he would be sure Kir would shoot or stab, weak points in the body like the head, heart, and lungs (maybe even the throat). He also put one in his mouth to make it seem he was letting out blood through there too. Kir shot him twice, and he fell into the car. She set off the bomb with 3 seconds (30 seconds in the manga), to which I believe Akai escaped out of the car while she was turned, since the Organization was watching him via the camera on her choker. As for the dead body, I believe it was Rikumichi's dead body. We do not know what happened to him after his death, only that the FBI tried to keep this a secret from the Organization. If the police were to do a search, they would see a bullet wound to the head, where both Akai and Rikumichi were shot. The fingerprints can be explained because earlier on, Rikumichi touched Conan's phone. Plus, I find it strange the gun was shot at Akai, but he looked perfectly fine until a moment later, when he started bleeding and crouched down.I also find it strange Akai came with no weapon at all, and took the shot to the lungs and head so easily, and even made his last words sound funny. "To think you've gone this far..." with a smile on his face... plus the fact his hand stayed in his pocket the entire time seemed peculiar... also the fact when Kir turned away for a moment, then looked back, they didn't show the eyes of the person in the car, but the head was turned differently than before... at first, the head was facing to the left, but after she turned away, the head was facing forward, and we didn't get a glimpse of the eyes on the body. I'm not saying that Akai got out of his clothes and put them on the body at that moment, but maybe he had the body prepared with his clothes and his cell phone, which he couldn't use if he was pretending to be dead... he didn't tell anyone because he wanted their reactions to be realistic, plus he may not want any information to get leaked to the Black Organization... he disguised as Okiya Subaru by using a wig, changing his outfit, and wearing high powered glasses to make it hard to see and forcing him to squint, then assumed the role of a college student. He moved into Shinichi's house because Conan knew his plan probably, or saw through his disguise, and gives Haibara that feeling not because he's Bourbon but because he was once the BO member Rye. Him drinking Bourbon does not prove he is Bourbon, since Bourbon is Akai's favorite drink. Plus Akai and Okiya compare the BO to wolves. Bourbon on the other hand disguised as Akai because he got suspicious Akai was alive. He did this so he could gain more information by viewing reactions of FBI agents, and was trying to lure out Akai. Akai, as Okiya, decided to visit the bank Bourbon had been at during the robbery case, and may have noticed him entering the mall. He followed him to see what he was doing, then left a note for Jodie saying to leave because there was danger. This may have not been because of the bomber, but because he was warning her about Scar Akai, or Bourbon.

I have certain feelings as to who the boss is: First off (unless this was translated incorrectly), the boss might be male. Gin says, "To gain his trust, he wants you to clean out somebody Source Second, Vermouth is the boss's favorite member, and he lets her do her own thing, but occasionally contacts her when he thinks she's had too much freedom. But what I wonder is why Vermouth is his/her favorite? Obviously, the boss must have loads of information on each member, and knows when Vermouth does too much, but there are other members such as Gin who follow his every motive without a single thought or emotion. Obviously, it's not because of her showing of emotions unlike the other members, because this is an evil organization that kills, so if you can't kill, you're certainly not helpful to the boss. The Organization has been around for a long time. At least 20 years ago, Vermouth killed Jodie's father because he had too much information on her and her background (which at the time she was still in the Organization). The boss may have changed, but maybe not. If the boss did change, it would probably be passed down to a son/daughter or nephew/niece etc. According to the Case Closed Casebook (an unnoficial guide to the series but it's facts have been proven mostly true), there was a Gosho Aoyama interview that said: The boss had been introduced to the manga at one point. Haibara would be shocked to find out the true identity (this could mean someone she trusted, someone who seemed too old/young/stupid/unlikely to be the boss, someone she thought was dead, etc.) The true name of the Syndicate is tied to the leader's identity Some other facts we've stumbled upon as the story progresses: The boss believes Akai Shuichi is the "silver bullet" of the Organization. He/she obviously knows of Akai's great intelligence, speed, and agility. That means either the boss has witnessed this before, or he/she got a REALLY good description of Akai from someone in the Organization. When contacting the boss' email, the keys typed out the nursery rhyme Nanatsu No Ko (七つの子), which translates to Seven Children. This can mean a multitude of things about the boss. This implies he/she is Japanese or has lived in Japan for a while or has studied a lot of Japanese culture, since the song Nanatsu No Ko is not well known in other places besides for Japan.Maybe the title or lyrics have a significance to the boss: Lyrics: karasu, naze naku no Crow, why do you cry? karasu wa yama ni kawaii nanatsu no ko ga iru kara yo Because it has 7 cute kids in the mountain kawaii kawaii to karasu wa naku no crow cries "kawaii - kawaii" kawaii kawaii to naku n da yo "kawaii - kawaii", it cries yama no furusa e itte mite goran marui me o shita ii ko da yo Go to its old home at the mountain, and you will see its round-eyed, lovely kids The song, which uses the notes Si la so la Si la so la re mi re do re mi so la for the beginning, has brought Conan to discover the boss' e-mail. The boss uses alcoholic codenames: The boss may have a preference for alcohol or has a connection in the past or by his/her name to alcohol. Or maybe the boss relates alcohol to darker things. Obviously the codenames are used to cover up their true names, but I wonder what the significance is... The Boss seems to have a lot of knowledge on mysteries: Passwords and codes in the organization have a lot to do with mysteries, for example, the password Sherringford, one of the names Sir Arthur Conan Doyle considered before deciding on Sherlock Holmes. Maybe the boss enjoys mysteries and puzzles, or maybe he/she knows a detective or mystery freak... The boss takes extreme caution: When it comes down to it, the boss tends to be extremely careful in what he/she does. Even Vermouth noted this in file 704. I have multiple opinions and guesses as to who the boss is, and I guess Dr. Agasa wouldn't be one of my guesses for the boss per say, but I think he could be related as a member. With his intelligence and great inventing skills, I doubt the Organization would just ignore his talent... maybe he works for the Organization or builds things for them without noticing (the rich patrons that buy his inventions perhaps?)
-
Well, I guess they could... at the same time, if Scar Akai was to be Bourbon, it would make sense to keep his mouth shut if he had a plan to somehow trap Akai Shuichi... if he had a plan to capture him or trap him and the FBI, it could be part of his plan to keep silent, and it makes sense, because if the FBI starts asking him questions and he replies, he could risk getting his cover blown. Also, I find it rather amusing that Conan would even allow Okiya Subaru in his own house, especially since he knows someone in the Black Organization is a Holmes fan (the password Sherringford for instance. The name Sherringford was an idea of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's for the name of the main character for his newest series at the time, but he later decided on Sherlock Holmes.) Okiya Subaru proved he was a Holmes fan. Wouldn't that make him suspicious to Conan? The excuse "a Holmes fan can't be all that bad" is a terrible excuse for a guy like Conan, who never just assumes things unless he has evidence to back things up, let alone stereotype people as being good only because they're a Holmes Fan. During the Holmes Freak Murder Case, Conan didn't give anyone the benefit of the doubt just because they were a Holmes Fan (that would have made Heiji or Kogoro the only two suspects if that were the case!) He probably wouldn't even risk it, since Haibara is right next door, and he would probably find out sooner or later if he was to be... so obviously Conan has some idea or knows who he is, and knows he is a good guy, since Conan's mind is still sharp. Akai (who I believe is Okiya) could have left that note for Jodie saying there was danger for multiple reasons, not only the bombing case... Haibara's reaction also came when Akai Shuichi was near her multiple times... Okiya Subaru brought out the same reaction. Gosho could be using this, Okiya's smiling when he sees the BO and "Akai", and him drinking Bourbon to make us believe he is Bourbon to trick us, as he's used similar tactics with Jodie to imply she's Vermouth and to imply Agent Camel was from the BO... although those two ideas were obviously wrong, and we were mislead by Gosho... Also, Ran says she feels as though she has seen Okiya's face before... the face is similar to Akai's face (except for the eyes, but that can be exaplained if Akai used strong glasses that could make him forcibly squint, like Genta's dad in file 660). She's met Akai three times; in New York, in a restaurant, and walking with Conan. Ran's strange feelings she can't explain ususally turn out true in some way: she had a feeling Conan was Shinichi, and in the Shirigami case, she acted strangely around a fake Shinichi, but cried around the real one, even though the real Shinichi was disguised. The reason the Black Organization did the stakeout in the first place was because Vodka spotted him on TV. Gin said (about Bourbon when Kir asked him), "Who knows, like Vermouth, [bourbon's] a mysterious one.. I have no idea where he is or what he's doing..." The Black Organization does not recieve information from Bourbon, as he is a mysterious member. He does this probably as a caution since he may believe there is more than just Akai that was giving away Black Organization information to others, and he doesn't want his plans exposed. He also does this, because, by how Gin words it, Bourbon has a cocky attitude and looks down upon other members, as Gin says, "I'm sure he's already found out [about where or who Akai is] and is laughing about it..." I also find it funny how Okiya and Akai are a lot alike: they have similar appearances, they both compare the Organization to wolves, and they are both really intelligent. Also, Okiya says his favorite color is black. This would also make him suspicious of being Bourbon, but he says he likes it because it covers things inside of him he doesn't want known, which is the same reason he despises the color also. Akai has a sad and secretive past he doesn't want known to others.

You're welcome! I only listed them as spoilers because it's a very long list, so it's just to shorten it!

I'm proud of saying "Oi Oi." I forgot to mention I bought a pair of red sneakers and fake glasses that I wear in my room when I'm reading the series My sister once walked in my room while I was reading in my room and she mistook me for Conan for half a second (since all I do is talk about Conan, so she knows by heart what Conan looks like, although I don't know how you mistake a 5'5 girl for Conan Edogawa, even if she is wearing red sneakers, black glasses, a blue shirt, and shorts). And ya, I do have a DC fansite (not a lot of views on it, but I'm proud of my hard work!)

I just went back and checked via Youtube, and here's all the birthdays: That was a good idea though! It would have been perfect for Ran to announce her birthday then!

Gosho Aoyama has already decided as to what the end will be. However, he has no clue when he's going to be able to write it. (Hopefully that means we have a while longer). People have made wild opinions because of his response about when it will end (some people say next month, some people say 3 years, and some have even said Detective Conan will continue on forever [which of course we know is not true]), and there's also been crazy ideas as to what the ending will be like (the Organization will kill Ran/Kogoro/Ai/another protagonist that we'd dearly miss if they died, Heiji shrinks) The truth is, nobody but Gosho can decide when or what the ending is (we don't even know the true name of the syndicate, their main operative, or their boss!) But, Aoyama has said at an interview (according to the Case Closed Casebook) that the identity of the boss will be revealed once the syndicate's true name is revealed, and by that, we can assume the series will end not too far after the syndicate's and boss's names are revealed, and, since Gosho knows the ending already, we can safely assume it will be less than 10 years from now (we can't predict anything sooner than 10 years, since people used to believe Detective Conan wouldn't last that long in the first place, but now we've reached more than 15 years and 740 files, plus 580+ episodes)! (But we still have more time, because if an ending was to be released anytime within the next couple of months, we would know by now!) Plus since he's busy, we can assume he's working on a number of new cases for Conan (and us) to solve!

Exactly! I wonder where the birth date came from since everyone seems to think it was the first or second of October...

Your Favorite DC Case(s)? (Anime and/or Manga)
detectiveshinichi replied to Napshot64's topic in General
Ya... -
It's okay! I prefer the Japanese version too, but I started watching the Japanese version after watching 130 English episodes!
-
I got October 2 from Detective Conan World's wiki... though I've read most of the manga files and I've never stumbled upon this before, so I tried doing some research online... some people say October 1, some people say October 2, and then there's people who said it hasn't been revealed yet... it seems only fan sites list the birthday, ones where you can edit, so I guess there's no proof unless I somehow missed a chapter.

It's actually a funny quote from Case Closed, the English Version, and it was when Kogoro (or Richard in the Case Closed version) was asleep on the couch, during episode 6. I double checked the original version, but he doesn't say it there (he says "I am the famous detective Mouri Kogoro" instead). He actually says: No, sir, Archer, I swear I gave my math homework to the pink monkey in the golf cart. He said he was the new football coach... (I wrote gym teacher instead of football coach. Maybe I should actually watch the episode again before I write down quotes!)

Your Favorite DC Case(s)? (Anime and/or Manga)
detectiveshinichi replied to Napshot64's topic in General
Ya, I had to use Wikipedia for a little bit of assistance... it probably would have made more sense to say I love too many episodes to count, since I named so many! :-D
