  1. No no! Let us perfect the incomplete detective, so that we may raise the dead against the sea of time! I think Ran atop the spire was supposed to evoke the whole 'princess trapped in a tower by the forces of evil' thing, so I'm guessing that the evil forces that separated Ran and Conan in the beginning were the ones who put her up there. It bothers me as well, that Ran's role in this opening was damsel in distress, because it really undermines Ran's true character. More often than not in canon, Conan is the one who is the damsel in distress, and Ran needs to come to his rescue. That being said though, I liked the intimacy between Ran and Conan in this opening. The two of them holding hands, Ran falling gently into his arms, them staring lovingly at one another... X3
  2. Yeah, that's definitely a good guess, since we've heard lots of little things about him without ever seeing him. Also he has the BO connection thing going.
  3. I've recently been favouring the idea of Vermouth's husband as Anokata, but it still isn't a perfect match in my head. He was mentioned in the New York case (right? Or maybe I'm remembering wrong), so maybe that complies with Aoyama-sensei's statement...? Hahaha, Yamamura is in the poll. XD But seriously, how amazing would it be if it turned out to be him? Best example of 'obfuscating stupidity' ever.
  4. I know everyone will feel differently about this opening, but I really feel like you guys are overreacting. The opening was cheesy, yes. But ALL Detective Conan openings are cheesy, in my opinion. And I love their cheesiness. The openings are adorable bits of fluff, and nothing more. That being said, the angle at which they approached this opening was indeed a bit different from the usual. I wonder if maybe they were not so much trying too hard as they were trying for something new. I love all the openings (even Tear Drops - le gasp! o_O), but they are all very much the same thing (minus millions of boxes of dancing girls). I wouldn't say this new opening is very original either, but maybe they were attempting to achieve something different... Hence the flying words, action hero Heiji, pokemon shounen tantei-dan, goth loli Haibara, princess Ran. XD Haha, writing all of that makes me laugh at myself, but I really liked each of those silly additions...

  14. Awww, Eisuke did not waste our time! He was a really cool character, and his time in the series was time well spent. Haha, but I guess we all have our opinions. Getting back on topic though, I'm pretty darn sure that Sera is Akai's sister. That being said, her reason for being in Japan may be a scheme of Bourbon. He may have sent her some clues or details that prompted her to journey to Japan to get to the bottom of everything. And Bourbon could use Sera to find Akai.
  15. Oh, sorry - my last message got cut off. I was saying that I checked out your fanfic, and it seems pretty cool. I have yet to actually read it though, since I still have to focus on my classes. But as soon as I am done, I shall read it! :D

  16. Oh wow! It's so nice to meet you here on Detective Conan World! I do have an account on here, but I don't use it very often. I have been frequenting the DCTP forums a bit more, but even then, I'm pretty busy with classes. 19. I really liked this episode! I'm kind of ashamed to admit this, but when I read the manga, I did not think that Hades was black. When I saw him in this episode, I had to do a double take. I thought to myself, who is that guy? I don't remember him. Then it hit me. Oh! Hades...is black. Haha augh I'm such a loser. I wish the lovely Takayama-sama could pronounce English words a bit better, since Conan is supposedly fluent, but it doesn't bug me too much. Aaaaaand... I'm soooooooo excited for the final episode of this arc! The manga arc lasted a while, so we probably won't get there for another month... I'm willing to wait though! XD
  20. All good points, but I don't think Shiho would risk traveling anywhere. Couldn't she just send Yukiko with the antidote without disguising as her? What if Shinichi stays Shinichi until they go back? That's probably unlikely, but he's maintained his form for quite a while now, so the possibility is there... I'm open to just about anything Gosho throws at us at this point.
  21. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes!

  23. I could have sworn that the Golden Apple case happened two years before the current story. But either way, while they did meet Sharon Vineyard during the Golden Apple case, remember that Chris Vineyard already existed in the world at that time. When they first ran into Sharon, she mentioned that her daughter Chris was already an established actress who was doing much better than her. Becoming a famous actress doesn't happen overnight, so Vermouth had to have become Chris at least a little while before that. Before Sharon was "killed off" for good, I'm guessing Vermouth disguised herself to look like her older self. So the Sharon we saw in the Golden Apple case was probably Chris in disguise. How else could you explain an older and a younger Vermouth existing at the same time? Well, who says the drug was meant to kill? My mind isn't made up one way or the other, but I'm just throwing the idea out there. It seems the members of the Black Organization are mostly kept in the dark about "the big picture", since sharing all information with everyone would make it too easy for the organization to be discovered. Shiho took over the project that her parents had been working on, so it's entirely possible she didn't know the original intent/effects of the drug. Maybe it wasn't developed to kill. But anyway, on the first page of this topic I considered the problems you mentioned. I suggested that Vermouth might have screwed up a mission, so she was sent to be a guinea pig for their poison (if she died, it would just save them the trouble of killing her). Surprisingly, she got younger, so they opted to keep her alive and around to study how the heck such a miracle had occurred. This idea has a few holes in it, namely that Vermouth went from that low point to being Anokata's favorite somehow. So I started throwing out a few other ideas to see if one sounded better than the other, or if people liked one more than the other.
  24. Alright. I was only going to name a few of my favorites, but it seems nobody's happy unless everyone ends up with someone! Actually, given the way things are going, I think Gosho Aoyama-sensei just might fulfill that wish. Everyone seems to be getting paired up! Chiba getting a girl seems pretty normal, cause he's a young bachelor. But even Agasa is getting paired off now, and with a very attractive woman no less. Lucky! ^.^ But anyway, I'm happy with the standard pairings: Shinichi X Ran - They're in love, and they've come so close to confessing! They have an amazing chemistry and enjoy every second they're together. When they are apart, they yearn to be together. Both Ran and Shinichi seem to have a certain composure around most people, but when they're together, you really see the masks come off. Ran, who is normally delicate and proper, jokes around and even roughhouses with Shinichi. Shinichi, who tries to seem cool and aloof, gets caught off guard and stutters over his words. If you don't think these two belong together, I don't think we've been watching the same show. Heiji X Kazuha - These two are very cute together, but I think Heiji needs to figure out his feelings before they can get anywhere. Kogoro X Eri - They still love each other - awwwwwwwwwww. Even though they're separated, they don't seem to be dating anyone else. Kogoro has asked Eri very sincerely to come back, but it looks like she needs some more time. Even though Eri clearly wants to be with Kogoro, I think she wants to be sure that the issues they had before won't be there waiting when she returns. I want this relationship to work, but Kogoro needs to convince Eri that he can be a better husband. I hope he will do that! Takagi X Sato - pretty much perfectly adorable and perfect in every way. Enough said. Shiratori X Kobayashi-sensei - I really liked this development. I always thought Shiratori was a really cool character, but it was clear that his smooth, self-confident attitude didn't really mesh with Sato's aggressive, passionate personality. Kobayashi-sensei's slightly awkward, nerdy behavior perfectly off-sets the suaveness that Shiratori gives off. It's like when puzzle pieces have a bump here and a hole there, and the other piece has a hole here and a bump there, making them perfectly opposite but perfectly matched. Araide-sensei X Yumi - I liked this idea a lot too, after someone mentioned it on here. They're pretty close in age, and they both spend all their time helping other people out with their crazy lives. They help behind the scenes supporting those in the spotlight. Saguru X Shiho - I'm not sure who started the idea, but I really like Shiho and Saguru Hakuba. They haven't met yet, but they have so much in common that I think they would hit it off right away. They're both very detached from most emotions other than arrogance, and they're very critical of just about everything. But in a good way! Under their tough exteriors, they're very caring and kind-hearted individuals. I think their understanding of one another (because they are so similar) could lead to a great relationship. I'm going to wait to make a judgment on Chiba and Miike, because I don't think I've really seen Miike enough to know what she's about. I hope she's a good fit for Chiba though! He's been with us for so long, I've been waiting for him to get somebody. On the topic of Shuuichi's romantic entanglements... First off, I'm sure he had something special with Akemi, but she IS dead, so I think in time he will move on and form new relationships. Should he get back with Jodie? Hmmmmm if they do, I wouldn't want it to happen too quickly. After all, it's not the nicest story from Jodie's perspective. She was dating him, then he broke it off to pursue a fake relationship that became oh so real, but then it ended when Akemi died. With a situation like that, I don't want Jodie to be too eager to pick up where they left off. They might be good for each other, but if Shuuichi tries to build something with Jodie this soon, I don't think that's fair to his relationship with Akemi. So... what am I really saying here? Shuuichi and Jodie could work, but I don't want it happening too soon. It's been said already, but I wholeheartedly agree that Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko should find love outside of their circle. I also think they're a bit young to get paired off just yet...
  25. Alright, sounds like you don't hate her anymore, which makes me smile. Hooray!
