Parkur got me hooked on Madoka. It's awesome. And regarding Fireworks, it's an expensive Adobe (those two words go together ) program that creates/edits vectors and also edit bitmapped images. It's a pretty high-end program, so unless you're in a field that requires computer art (like me, I'm in web design), don't get it.

Ooh, Photoshop. I prefer Fireworks, but hey, I liked Photoshop.

I have an animation in the works that I plan to use. And thanks for the compliment. Despite being male, I tend to use avatars of girls, much to everyone's amusement/annoyance/teasing.

Oh, and I use http://www.online-image-editor.com/ for most of my editing and stuff. Works excellent for an online tool, no frills. And for more serious efforts, I use Fireworks.

Actually, what annoys me more than the resizing part is the file size limit. 50 KB is a fair threshold, but half of my avatars break that threshold.

I recall CC and IU used Eisuke avatars. As for me, I went through so many avatars that I lost track. I change my avatar almost weekly.
