Ah that's right, there was snow today. I heard it's pretty bad further up north from where we are. I'm a bit jealous, I'll admit, but at least the snow won't be getting in the way of my Thanksgiving plans. And walking home from school was a pain.
  7. I was never really good at science, and I don't plan on pursuing a future in science either. I've always been more of an introspective thinker as I prefer history and literature classes (you know, the ones that don't really put food on the table). But Ema Skye is cute though.
  8. That book is awesome. Though I was probably impressed by it more than I should have been because it was a bit of a dark horse book and I came in with nearly zero expectations for it.
  9. I played Super Smash Bros. for Wii U today!! It's such a great game, I can't even find words for it. So much effort went into this game and so many gripes from previous games were addressed and fixed. The game looks gorgeous and flows beautifully. I speed-unlocked all the characters and stages just a while ago which thankfully didn't take too long. Lucina and Bowser Jr. are playing exactly as I expected them to, and I'm going to have a damn fun time maining them. Seriously, when my relatives come over for Thanksgiving tomorrow, we're going to play Sm4sh until our eyes dry out in their sockets. 8-player smash here I come! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFLdsPxZGns
  10. I beg to differ as most if not all anime have impressive animation in the first few episodes to nab the attention of potential viewers that tapers down the road. Once someone has already started watching a series, they might as well finish it, especially after having seen 7 episodes. Amping up the budget on the 8th episode, which only people who are practically guaranteed to finish the anime will see, won't exactly do much to boost viewership and ultimately sales. A-1 Pictures is currently working on SAO II, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, and Nanatsu no Taizai, all of which are being given higher budgets than MK1412, so it's not like they have a lot of money to spare. Some anime save money to make top notch animation at climactic high points in the series, wether they be fight scenes or moments of tension and drama. But episode 8 wasn't anything that deserved more attention to detail than usual. The only thing I can fathom is that one of their key animators wasn't needed in one of the previous anime I listed for this past week and had time to work on MK1412, hence the slight but noticeable change in quality.
  11. Welcome to DCW! There wasn't really a need to ask people for their favorite songs; there's already a thread for that here. Regardless, I'll answer your question. My favorite by far is the original lyrical version of Kimi ga Ireba. It was a song that defined both DC as a series and my younger years. It's so nostalgic and hype and embodies what got me into this series in the first place. I honestly wish I could have captured those moments with a Kodak, because I miss them. Sigh, don't mind me, just reminiscing.
  12. That would be far too unfortunate if that were the case. I've always felt DCW was such a quaint little place, too.
  13. Well shucks, looks like that's de-confirmed.
  14. I've finished EV training (via Super Training) my Flabebe and it's a Floette now. I finished it in two days, but if i tried I would have finished it in one. Super Training is actually a ton of fun once you start self teaching yourself how the mechanics works, because the game doesn't really tell you much apart from you need to hit the goals. It become really fast paced and explosive as you gain EVs and the balloons get harder to take down. It got pretty intense for me a couple of times, enough to make my hands cramp from gripping the 3DS and stylus too hard. It seriously starts to feel like a crazy version of those alien invasion games where you pilot a ship to take down the final boss. Oh, and once you get used to it, the controls aren't that bad. Darkrai is one of my favorite Pokemon, but making it Dark/Ghost would probably make it a bit too OP, at least before Fairy types. Also, Darkrai is a nightmare Pokemon, so I suppose Dark for sleep would work but not really Ghost, since it never directly involves death. I adore Floette, even its normal form, but it's Eternal form is awesome too. I don't want to evolve it into Florges at all, so I'll hold off on it for as long as I can. Once it starts to be outclassed by my other Pokemon, I may need to evolve it then. I don't really know what the planned "purpose" of Megas was. Perhaps to keep things fresh and add a whole new aspect to the metagame? Fairy-type was added and some type match-ups were changed for balance issues of course, though honestly it's like Fairy-type is the new "God" type, not Dragon anymore. Megas were made for some Uber Pokemon as well, so I don't think it was to just make weaker Pokemon stronger. And yes, that joke has spread so far it's becoming a meme now. I love, haha.
  15. The Valedictory Elegy (Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Remix) - Motoi Sakuraba (arranger), originally from Baten Kaitos Origins If Sm4sh isn't at my doorstep tomorrow, or at least by Wednesday, I'm going to cry...
  16. Don't know why I've finally gotten around to responding to this, considering I'm not even following Sailor Moon Crystal nor have I have ever watched the original series. From the clips I've seen though, it doesn't look too bad. The only things that turn me off are the CGI transformation scenes. CGI, when done right, can make a series look great by complementing the art style and animation. CGI people have never been to my taste, and honestly it looks tacky and robotic. I'm not familiar enough with SMC to know who's behind the animation, but they seriously should have just stuck to sakuga for important scenes like that, not money saving CGI.
  17. Episode 8 has been fansubbed! The more Akako the better, is how I see it. For whatever reason, this episode wasn't as bad as the others. I can't tell if it's because of Akako or if it's because the art and animation was a bit more consistent this time around.
  18. This Smash 4 Wii U remix is just too good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtYeNx_mVLc

You mean Wii U; Smash Bros 4 doesn't work on a Wii.

  19. All this romantic development teasing at the end of the series is getting tedious. Because of how this case ended, we're practically guaranteed another mini-London arc involving Heiji and Kazuha in the future when the time could have been spent on something more pertinent to the plot. I'm just hoping for some more legit info on RUM; I don't want his/her involvement to be as drawn out and as eventually disappointing as Bourbon's.
  20. Mentioned this before, but at that point I had only started this book: A Farewell to Arms by Earnest Hemingway. This shouldn't even belong here, since this is a thread for "good" books not average books. AFtA was average at best. It peeked at chapter 9 out of a total of 41, which was unfortunate. It's more of a cringe-worthy love story than a war novel, so read it with your expectations in check unless you want to be disappointed. The two main characters were nothing to speak of, unless you want to consider Catherine as one of literature's most poorly written "yanderes". The ending was also terribly predictable, and it evoked absolutely no emotion from me. Well, I did stop yawning by the second half of the last chapter, but at that point it was already too late. Okay, scratch average, this book was below average and dances very close to bad. I was never a fan of Hemingway's style to be honest, so I might be biased. I don't recommend you read it unless school forces you to.
  21. Dugtrio isn't exactly one of my favorite Pokemon either, so I can understand how you feel. Its shiny form isn't all that good. And I've actually changed my mind and decided to EV train the shiny Flabebe. It shouldn't take too long with Super Training, and when it's fully EV trained I'll stick it in my party and use it as a motivator to not stop playing Y, haha. Since I'll be getting a lot of new games in the coming weeks and months, I don't want Y to be forgotten. Florges as a Grass/Fairy would make more sense, but I guess the flower isn't exactly park of the Pokemon, kind of like how Spiritomb is always shown coming out of the Odd Keystone but it's not Ghost/Rock or Dark/Rock. I wish I could keep it as a Floette, because she has a really cute design. Maybe that YouTuber got some kind of "advance copy" of the game? I'm only guessing we got a Mega Audino because we needed some 5th generation Megas. They could have picked something better, like a Mega Druddigon or something. I'm definitely not going to use it, that's for sure. I would have loved to see a Mega Milotic and Flygon! I like Milotic's design and it would be interesting to see how they handle an even more beautiful Pokemon. And I've used Flygon enough in my Sapphire runthroughs to want a Mega. Well, when I run through the game I'm most likely going to use my Mega starter, so I don't think there'd be much time to experiment with others until post game anyway. Heck, I may end up being so greedy I just stick an Amulet Coin on my lead Pokemon and just roll in the cash, avoiding Megas completely.
