  1. To my knowledge, it has not yet been confirmed whether this will adapt the existing manga chapters or animate an original story. But we'll be keeping tabs on this and I'll post an update as soon as we get word.
  2. UPDATE: The main cast has been announced with some major changes! \ Kaito Kuroba - Kappei Yamaguchi (unchanged) Aoko Nakamori - Mao Ichimichi (formerly Minami Takayama, Yukiko Iwai, Ayumi Fujimura) Akako Koizumi - Eri Kitamura (formerly Megumi Hayashibara, Miyuki Sawashiro) Saguru Hakuba - Mamoru Miyano (formerly Akira Ishida) Source: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-09-01/kappei-yamaguchi-m.a.o-star-in-magic-kaito-tv-anime-series/.78249
  3. (^alright, just finished a game and thought I was going to have to double post/edit my previous post) Finished the Ace Attorney: Investigations games. Those games, especially the 2nd one that was never released in America, were some of the best Ace Attorney games I've ever played. There was so much nostalgia-service by referencing nearly every past case and by bringing back so many characters from the original trilogy... Oh my gosh, I can't even begin to describe.... As of now, if I had to rank the AA games: 1. Trials and Tribulations 2. Prosecutor's Path (AA:I2) 3. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 4. Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 5. Apollo Justice 6. Justice for All *Dual Destinies <-- I'll get to this one eventually...
  4. "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen ^The first 2/3rds are rather slow, but the last bits are nice. Two characters in this book I hate with a vengeance though, so I wasn't particularly looking forward to opening it back up whenever I had stopped in fear of seeing their names in print. "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood ^Now this book was fascinating. Almost finished it in one sitting. Really enjoyed it. (No major spoiler below, but adding the tags anyway.) Woohoo, summer reading is finished and school is Wednesday...
  5. Less than a week left to back "Under the Dog" on Kickstarter! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1300298569/under-the-dog

  6. Well, the movie was confirmed to be about Van Gogh and Kaitou Kid, so I'm betting on something lightheartedly similar to movie 14. What you suggested seems more plausible for some kind of revenge murder of sorts, or maybe that's just me. Oh yeah, myths and science regarding sunflowers may show up in the episode special that ties in with the movie.
  7. (^thank God you posted, because I watched a movie yesterday but didn't want to double post) Paprika
  8. Summer Wars (phew, just in time, thought I wasn't going to get around to it before school started)
  9. Pretty sure we're not allowed to link to streaming sites. Not to mention that link leads to poor quality camrips. But of course, it is Youku after all...
  10. "I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. Words are the source of misunderstandings." - The Fox, from Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince
  11. I don't know how I missed this thread. My votes are on Gin, Akai, and Bourbon. Oh heck, a young Korn would be awesome too.
  12. Um, you seem new here. The watch section has been down for a while. I think you might be misinterpreting the news (how'd you dig this up anyway?) as it only means the watch section on this site is dysfunctional and will not return, as it has been for over 4 and a half years. The rest of the Internet is not affected. (... well, there was that anti-piracy campaign by the Japanese government that spawned a website riddled with Engrish and an ad consisting 95% of "arigatou"s...)
  13. Unfortunately, I usually struggle with ongoing anime (sounds hypocritical because I like DC, but I just haven't had the time recently because of school unlike when I had originally gotten into DC years ago). I watch a bunch of new anime each season, and it definitely gets tough when I try to balance more anime per week than there are days in one. I'm watching 8 right now, but only because it's summer break for me. As for the end date, unfortunately it's been confirmed to end then. It was planned to end this fall (in a couple of weeks), but was extended by 26 episodes. If I'm not mistaken the total episode count will be up to 75 when it ends in March.
  14. Locke That was one helluva underappreciated movie.
  15. Well, if you want to be technical here, the 5 basic tastes are sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami. Spicy is under the pungency category, which is a sensation (key word) the tongue feels but is not considered a taste. At least, that's what Wikipedia says... Looks like Junichi Masuda didn't do his research when he made Ruby and Sapphire, haha. As for my favorite taste, I guess I don't really have one. Sweet and salty are high on my list though.

    Favorite Season

Winter all the way. No, not really... Fall can get pretty nice, and spring has its charms. Summer's at the bottom of my list and though I've had quite a few awesome summer memories, none of them directly relate to the season being summer. As for why winter is my favorite, I guess I just love the snow and stargazing at night after snowfall is my all time favorite hobby.
  17. You're going to have to watch fansubs if you want to catch yourself up on the anime, or read the manga if you want to save yourself some time. As much as I like to support my interests legally, it's rather difficult with a series like Detective Conan. I have a few Conan figurines that I got for dirt cheap in China, but that probably translates to something like $0.009 in Gosho Aoyama's pocket.
  18. Ah, I was wondering what your name meant. I was thinking something like "kangaroos need purple colored eggs"? Naw, that can't be right. I'm glad I wasn't.
  19. Oh, good luck with that one. It won't be ending until March of next year. I still remember when it started airing nearly a year ago and thought I'd give it shot if it ended up being one-cour. Haha, how wrong I was. Thank God I stopped watching after after episode one b/c GPA.
  20. Unless Gosho takes some APTX to give himself a few more years.
  21. Re-watched 12 Angry Men for old time's sake (hang on, how old am I again?) last week and finally got around to watching Pacific Rim yesterday.
  22. I'm 17 and started watching... .... I can't remember, but it was quite a while ago. I've been one this site for nearly 4 years, if that means anything, so I'd venture a guess and say I've been watching for about 5 years.
  23. Not to mention, OVAs aren't canon, so anything that happens in them don't really have much bearing on the plot. Left-handed people don't always do everything with their dominant hands. I myself was born a southpaw but grew up right-handed, hence why I grip my pencil weird when I write and I can beat any true righty at arm wrestling with my left hand. Handedness is kind of an anomalous thing, even of there are generalizations. Everyone has their tendencies.
  24. Pft, completely lost track of the date and didn't realize the ending has already aired. Well, not really, because it was a remastered episode and the ending just used scenes from the old case (a case I only remembered because of Conan's bathing scene with Ran). Anyhow, it looks like the theme song veteran Mai Kuraki still has some spunk left in her. The song is decent, but definitely not her best. I swear though, her and B'z are going so strong it's almost not even human. Hope they stick it out until the anime finishes! Here it is (the actual ending will be linked eventually): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVRhoksE3BM
