The kittens are the cutest in my opinion, but they're all quite sweet

You do all realise there's another spoiler pic right? Spoiler pic link

There's already a thread with people's theories about Sera, it's newest in the manga section if you're looking for people's ideas. I'd recommend reading through it, it's quite interesting

Yeah, I agree. Things have been speeding up lately (London case, new character...) within a shorter space of time than Aoyama usually takes. Now, considering that the Bourbon arc is likely the last one I'd say that around the 800 mark things'll start getting very interesting. About Sera I haven't settled on an idea yet but I'd say she's probably related to Akai in some way, if Aoyama knew this character was important he wouldn't just make the eyes like that on accident. Evidence for this is in the fact he reuses some things in a subtle way (like a hint). For example, the Shirigami-sama case he brings up the idea that when Makoto is disguised as Shinichi that to avoid any awkward questions he'll fake amnesia. This sets up the Scar!Akai thing later (if it was really Akai he wouldn't appear only in front of the FBI if he had amnesia, ditto for if he didn't 'cause he'd endanger them). So, it gives you hints. In this case Eisukes eyes pointed to him being related to 'Mizunashi Rena' in the same way Seras eyes say she's probably related to Akai. Nothing's certain ('though I severely doubt it's a red herring if Word of God (see TV Tropes if you don't understand) says she's important, I'd also think she's a bit young to be Bourbon, you never know though..) ...hmmm, long post

Wait a second, since when has Takagi refered to Shinichi as 'Shinichi-kun'. He called him 'Kudou-kun' in the Shirigami-sama case so I wonder when (and why) it changed considering that Takagi hasn't seen 'Shinichi' since then. Also, I'm lookin' forward to next file, the spoilers look interesting...

1) British Secret Services are MI6 and MI5, one's more national and the other's one more international. I can't remember which is which though. 2) So far Sera has been refered to as a male in only two panels out of the last two files (by Chiba and Sonoko) but 3) Takagi's reply to Chiba makes me wonder, why did he defend Conan? 4) @Aeyra - I think Detective Kudo means that it's a howdunnit so the culprit is obvious and 5) There's some 770 spoilers are on the dctp spoiler box if anyone wants to look: www.dctp/Latest/ConanNews.htm

it's an AO I think.. can't remember the exact number though

First comment: I am not clicking on that link. It leads to TV tropes and I get the feeling my browser will not be able to cope (last time it almost crashed I had so many tabs open). Second comment: So, I've decided to modify my theory a bit after people have suggested it reacts with the skin. I'd put that a bit more specifically and say it reacts with the oils in the skin (which would mean it's made out of an alkali I think), and say it reacts very quickly once it makes contact. That'd also explain the Ran-needle incident, because the needle attatched to her didn't disappear because it didn't touch her skin! ...feel free to point out any flaws in this argument
-
Perhaps the needle is made of a material that changes into a gas a certain time after it comes into contact with the air. Like if something oxidises the speed at which it reacts with the air could vary and that's why Conan had to get the needle from Ran, because if she sat down or something before it had fully reacted then she'd realise. Not sure if I explained it properly there but it's just a suggestion, I doubt that's the actual reason. I'll just think of it as a bit of a plothole until (if ever) it gets explained.

Wow, this earthquake and tsunami... to be honest I only heard about it last night. I'd had a schooltrip so I didn't see or hear any news until I got home. Anyway, I pray Japan and all the people affected recover as best as possible and, admittedly I'm not good at being sympathetic but I'm really sorry for your loss Mohorovicic And the pictures on the link below really hit home just how much all those people have been affected http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12721552

I suppose s/he could just be there as a plot device to make everyone suspicious of Conan. For example, something like this could happen: Conan:[pointing out clue] Ah re re, what's this doing here? Sato: Is that _______? Then that means that the murderer... Takagi: ...could use this to create an alibi Jeet Kune Do guy/girl: *facepalm* Are you telling me that no-one's noticed that he always just happens to find clues that are relevant to the case by coincidence? Sato + Takagi:... That's my idea at least. If Chekhov is right and this arc (the Bourbon arc) is the last one then it'd make sense for people to start questioning Conan.

DCTP released the english version of this file very quickly , and can I just mention that Sonoko was absolutely awesome in this

Is it bad that as soon as I saw this character I immediately thought that it was someone else in disguise? Anyway, I don't think it'll be any of the the ones in the spoiler box 'cause... So I suppose it's possible it is in fact a brand new character who happens to be interested in Conan. Well, as long as the plot around him isn't too close to what happened with Eisuke I suppose it could be okay. I'm interested in what 'kind' of rival he'll be though... Oh, and here's a link to the chinese file if anyone's interested: http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=1019607500

Yeah, but Chianti didn't snipe him and Gin called off the attack and let Kir live. If it was really Akai do you reckon he'd do that? 'Course that doesn't automatically make him Bourbon but in my opinion it says that Scar!Akai isn't the real Akai

hmmm... the barber makes sense but it still doesn't explain why all three of them tried to stop Conan from going inside. If they also knew about the trick then it would explain it but I don't get why he (the barber) would explain the trick to those two, especially if he commited the murder all by himself. Maybe they planned it together or something but if that's the case then I'd have to wonder why two of them were plotting the downfall of their own shop. -
Do you think more people know of Conan's identity than we are told?

If he's Akai then yes, but if he's Bourbon then I'm left wondering why exactly Conan, Haibara and Agasa are still alive since Okiya definitely didn't belive the 'Kinichi' thing. Oh well, one more point on the Okiya=Akai side. Also, I reckon Eisuke figured it out so quickly 'cause he was 'outside looking in' for most of his research, if any of you get what I mean? And can I just say that lately Conan has lost the art of subtlety, I mean honestly the Kogoro Akechi line in file 766 just reeks of Shinichiness. Using metaphors and being overdramatic, that's how I usually tell he's gone into Shinichi mode  -

I think it means that Kudo isn't exactly known internationally so Americans (or most other nationalities) won't have heard of him -

Yeah, I reckon(or at least really, really hope) Takagi knows. He had to check the fingerprints on *Akai's corpse and yet he said that it matched Conan's and never mentioned Shinichi despite the fact that logically it should also match his fingerprints. There's also lots of evidence that Takagi used to be suspicious of Conan, there's no reason that after ep304 he would give up, if anything Conan's afterlife line should have made him more curious or triggered him figuring it out. And in more recent files Takagi will practically do anything Conan says, he may be trusted by the police but Conan still looks exactly like a seven year old(a creepy one but still..). Also So, I sure hope Takagi knows ...or at the very least that people will write more fanfics about him figuring it out  *I think Chekhov's Akai=Okiya theory is right, I'm just putting in 'Akai' so as to avoid any confusion -
Well, Kogoro can solve cases on his own, there's just a few things he has to get over first. 1 - He only usually makes a proper effort in cases involving people he knows/is close to. He needs to do that with every case 2 - This one is my character interpretation but I think that he became depressed when Eri left him. I'd say he's been getting a bit better recently but he's still a long way to go. 3 - Even though he can solve cases he still does it at a slower speed than Shinichi/Yamato/all the other really intelligent ones so he's gonna have a lot of competition unless Shinichi backs off(although I personally think Shinichi's time as Conan will mean he doesn't try and attract as much attention). 4 - Even if he does solve cases on his own I don't think people would find it as interesting now that 'Nemuri no Kogoro' his icon as such is gone. There is a possibility though that Shinichi would continue to use him for a while longer, if he wishes to stay out the limelight and also so no-one makes the connection that the entire sleeping thing only happened when Conan was around. That's my opinion at least...

*raises eyebrow* Kogoro is an option?! But I thought everyone knew it was Ran!! And the entire 'This topic has been brought to you by my urge to tickle Chekhov'... Also, is it me or is Conan agreeing with Kogoro on something creepy? -
Thank you Officer Kaoko! I'll go watch that now....

I've heard it mentioned a few times that Megure now thinks it's Conan with the death jinx instead of Kogoro like he previously thought. Does anyone know the episode when he first says that?

Yeah, I reckon it's either the architect or the woman(the butler is not ruled out though) for the reasons listed in this thread. Although I do find it extremely weird that there are four suspects and some red herrings in this case, it's very unusual for Gosho to break from his normal three suspect murder case. Perhaps it's leading up to something? What does everyone else think?
