I confirm this answer. Actually it's pretty usual for adults to bath with children. It's also not unusual for a father to bath with his daughter untill she becomes a teen. That may sounds unapropriate in western culture (I didn't check where you are from) but that's a part of the japanese culture. And in fact, Ran has also the role of the big sister who looks after Conan. So that explains - I guess - why she wanted to take a bath with him. I'm really interested to know where you found the airplane ticket from Osaka-Tokyo for 13000 yens. It's really cheap. Usually the prices are the same by plane or by shinkansen. I know a Shinkansen Ticket cost about 26000 yens for a university student. That's really expensive for only 3 hours. So I understand blueberry's question. But the Osakans can do it because they are the children of the head police chief of the Osaka district and his subordinate (= Kazuha's father - which is not a detective as you mentionned in the wiki). So they can have a lot of money from their parents. And I totally agree with your explanation about Shinichi and Ran. Even if Ran hasn't so much money, she actually was invited by Shinichi's mother so... Well Aoyama should have never thought about that! XD

Not a mistake. But in my opinion you can had a heart mark (romance) to these episodes: http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Anime Season 12 (??? why are there seasons? There aren't any season in DC in Japan except for the DVD but that's not a reference) episode 323-324 and the Magic Show 406-407-408 There is a heart mark for the episode 479 which is mainly based on the detective Koshien story and there is really few things between girls and guys. But not heart mark for the episode 490 where you have a little romance between the teenagers childhood friends. I was surprised. I think there are few heart mark at the end of the list. I know very well the Heiji x Kazuha couple, but not so much the other ones. I imagine someone else may help us to find the other romance episodes (for the other characters). That's all for today. I caught a bad cold so I need to rest... T__T

Never heard about that.

Wanna help to complete the HeiWa page? o__O Where was that? I've never heard that in Japan. I wrote some long articles about the topic. I can't translate it in english (mostly because I don't have the time) but if someone is interested about it, you can use some official information from my french page. I didn't quote every part but most of the informations comes from the manga or the Conan Drill. I usually say "I think" or something similar when I give my own opinion. Tell me if you want the link.

Ran's birthday is a mystery. Most of the japanese fans websites created a "Ran's day" (which is not Ran's birthday) to celebrate something for the character. The information about October may come from this kind of source. But we actually just DON'T KNOW when her birthday is. Aoyama said in an interview of the DC Super Digest Book that he doesn't want to tell us Ran's birthday (nor her blood type) and that he prefers the fans imagine it. In the first movie, we have an information that Ran has the same horoscope sign than Shinichi. But I never found if this information was an idea of Aoyama himself or not. In the Conan 10 years Cinema Guide, I found that Shinichi's birthday is an original idea of Gosho but that's all. So I can't be sure Ran's birthday is in April or May. For me, there is just no answer to this question.

Thank you so much for your answer Maurice. So I imagine that's the same about Hakuba's weight and height? I'll try to scan the picture I told you (if my scanner accepts to work T__T ) next time.

Thank you every one. [French on] Merci pour ton accueil Maurice. Tu es quebequois? Si je coince en anglais, je risque de te faire signe. Mais je vais tacher de ne pas abuser. (Je n'ai pas les accents quand j'ecris en francais au fait). [French off] Well, about my site, I started Naniwa in 2003. But I changed the design many times and I recently opened a new part of the site (the adress I gave you) dedicated to my analysis and long articles. I think there are many good DC websites on internet now but I started to create mine because there were some informations or topics I couldn't find anywhere. So I thought if I was looking for it, maybe other foreign fans would do the same. That's why I decided to start writing some topics I wanted to read about DC. At first, I created a general website. But now, I prefer to focus myself on some topics I love. And I read the Conan Drill, but as I said, I'm not very fluent in japanese. I can read it but there is still a lot of things I don't understand. It's really easy to read a japanese text on internet with some browser's plugins like RIKAI CHAN but it's totally different with a book or a novel. But if I can help you, please ask me. But just one thing: I won't translate long passages. It's not my job and I'm busy IRL with a lot of things. But if we can help each other on some sentences, that sounds very nice to me. Actually my DC characters' page are written with the informations of the manga and the data books (which means mainly the Conan Drill). Life in Japan is pretty nice but the culture is really different from occident. I have never been in the USA or Canada but if I watch an american movie or sitcom, I won't be surprised about people reactions or anything. But in Japan, a lot of things are different. I think that the way I see the characters of DC (for exemple) is pretty different from yours. I don't know if there are some other asian people on this forum but I guess their point of view of DC and of Japan may differ from mine and also from yours.

Yeah but people who read Conan aren't only fans... And actually Gosho said in an interview (Marc Barnabe May 2010) he has an idea of the end the story BUT he doesn't have a clue about when he may be able to write it... I recently started to think about the possibility that the serie may never end at all... And I'm not happy with that idea... really...

Thank you so much. I didn't know if I could give any link in my introduction thread. It's sometimes forbidden to talk about another DC site on some other forums, so... But you can find my website link on my profile page. Anyway, my most interesting articles are on that page: http://naniwa.e-monsite.com/ (FRENCH ONLY) I don't know if you'll understand something with google translators but good luck. I've never tried it on an english page. I tried it once to help me with a japanese site but it didn't help me at all T__T

Hi and thanks for the answer. If you can speak japanese, that may help a lot. I know that Ran's height is 160 cm. According to the Conan Drill (p44) this information was Ran's height in her first grade of high school (= 160センチ (1年前のデータ)). We actually are not sure she's still 160cm or she became taller. But, since we don't have any other information about it, it seems to be the more correct one. About the guys, I wasn't talking about the manga but about the movie 13th storyboard. There is a picture of a rough where we can see all the characters of the movie standing. It's a king of scale for the animators of the movie. Of course this is not a drawing of Aoyama himself but because I haven't heard about the height of the detectives somewhere else, I think this picture is the best source of information we have about it. I've seen a lot of japanese fanfictions with some fictional informations about the characters like their birthday, their blood type and also their height and weight. None of them come from a serious source. I think Gosho don't really want to imagine these kind of information until he really needs to use it in his case. But I may have missed some points (because this manga is very long... it's difficult to remember every thing) so I prefer checking all the possibilities.

Hi Everybody. Let me introduce myself. My name is Kazu. I'm a french Detective Conan fan living in Osaka in Japan. I'm living in Japan for my job for 7 years now. I'm involved in DC fandom for 9 years now but I started to read DC in (about) 1998. I own a french DC website which name is NANIWA and I also wrote some fanfictions with my favorite characters. When I was an university student I draw some DC pictures but I'm not really good at drawing so I never continued it. My favorite characters in DC are Heiji and Kazuha. As you will see in my future posts I don't like the characters of Hakuba and Haibara Ai. But it's mainly because I don't like their personality. I'm shipping HeiWa but I like all normal/official couplings. I have a big interest in the DC romance in general. And even if I don't like non official couplings and BL, I wrote several articles on my site about the different romance shippings in the serie. I would be glad to exchange different points of view about DC. I'm not interested in flooding. Some of you may have sometimes seen me on other forums. But I'm not very active on english spoken website because it takes a lot of time for me to answer in english... and sometimes I can't really explain what I mean. Well, I think that's all. I'll answer you if you have any question.

There are longer and older mangas than DC in Japan. And Gosho actually works with 4 assistants. Some of them write the other Detective Conan serie: The DC special serie http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%90%8D%E6%8E%A2%E5%81%B5%E3%82%B3%E3%83%8A%E3%83%B3-%E7%89%B9%E5%88%A5%E7%B7%A8-35-%E3%81%A6%E3%82%93%E3%81%A8%E3%81%86%E8%99%AB%E3%82%B3%E3%83%9F%E3%83%83%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9-%E9%9D%92%E5%B1%B1/dp/4091408788/ref=pd_sim_b_63 And back to the topic of this thread: what if there was no end to this story? Like Sazae san or Doraemon?

Hi everybody, This is my first post on this forum and I have a question. I'm a french fan of DC living in Japan and I'm writing my own website in french about this serie. I always use japanese source but even if I read and speak japanese, I'm not native so I may make some mistakes and that's why I'm always looking for new news. I found the DC Wiki and there some informations I have never found anywhere about the detective characters: - the height and the weight of the detective. Could you tell me where you found these informations? Because it's written on the wiki that Shinichi is 174 cm that may be correct (actually, Shinichi has the same height as Gosho himself if I refer to the interviews) but I'm not sure that Heiji is 182 cm. If I refer to the movie storyboard of movie 13, Heiji and Shinichi has about the same height (you have it in the japanese movie pamphlet). And i have never found a japanese book refering to the character's height and weight. So that's why I'm looking for more information. Thanks for your help. (PS: sorry for my bad english)
