  1. The next DCW IRL round details: Starting Date: Around September 7th # of Spots (open): 8 # of Spots (total): 8 Topic: Unannounced Total Time: ? Ending Date: About October 7th Ending Date Extension: October 12th There will be NO spot reservations. There is one exception, which will be explained below. The MVRP (Most Valuable RolePlayer) award of the previous round goes to Akai Sera for her unique role and obvious effort. Unfortunately, we do not at this time have a prize. However, if it is requested, the MVRP may be given one reservation for one of the next two rounds of DCW IRL. No one may be the MVRP for two consecutive rounds of DCW IRL. The MVRP will be decided on by myself and the moderator of the round. We may ask others for their input.
  2. Okay, only one round will happen at a time for the time being. It will have 8 players and Aeyra will be heading it.
  3. Dear Anonymous, Did you know that sometimes, people get sick of the games and the laughter and the teasing and the jokes? Sometimes, people just don't want to hear it. And sometimes, people would rather you stay out of it. ~ Anon
  4. It should start before the 10th of September, can't give you any more details since I'm not in charge of any of them except as advice. Oh, and since everything is on a first come first serve basis, I unfortunately cannot give you a heads up.

  5. (@OTTD: Please refrain from posting anymore. That is the ending, the moderator posts it, not the players. Please also keep swearing to a minimum. I believe the post is clear, if not, please contact me personally.)
  6. Concluding Post: Death raged in the following hours. The victims of the kidnapping turned on each other. Screams echoed in the hidden fortress and blood splattered the ground. Bodies became so mutilated that they were barely recognizable. Even those hidden in the nearby forests were disposed of, their bodies laid in a neat line. In the distance, sirens and alarms whirred. The guards in the towers all but disappeared, leaving no trace they had ever been there. The files were all wiped, all that was left was a note. The kidnapping would make history, eventually being known as the Death Trap case. No one ever discovered exactly who it was that was behind everything. The case eventually closed several years later, the police baffled by the note that was left. And everyone lies And everyone dies Things double in time Things fall into line Happy endings don't just randomly appear And everything is just not a fairytale ~ A ~ Several Years Later ~ Amsel threw a knife at the wall. "That mission was a mistake," he muttered darkly. "If only it had happened in a different way." He was frustrated. It had been years since the incident, but the bloodiness he had left behind still made him feel uneasy. Amsel was cold, perhaps, and he enjoyed a good game, but this was not how he defined it. Everything had failed to go according to plan. It was a game, it was supposed to end with them escaping, it was supposed to be fun. Amsel had been bored. He didn't care for kidnapping, though at the time, it had been interesting. Wonderful. "Sir." Amsel whipped around to see Adohalv. The man seemed untouched by the murders of many years ago. "What is it?" Amsel growled. "I've been talking to the higher-ups." Amsel leaned forwards. Maybe they would give him something to occupy his thoughts. God knew he needed it. Adohalv walked towards Amsel, a sorrowful expression on his face. "They told me to give you this." With a swift motion, Adohalv slit Amsel's neck, slicing through the carotid artery and jugular vein. A look of shock froze on Amsel's face as the blood spurted before him. Amsel slumped to the ground, dead. "I'm sorry, sir. They said you had become a liability." (So, in the end, Adohalv, Amsel's servant/second-in-command, was actually in a higher position than Amsel. Whether or not he was secretly in charge of Amsel is another story.) (Unfortunately, I found it difficult to twist this into a happy ending without it seeming cheesy. So you all die for this round of DCW IRL. :V) (Aeyra and Defenestrate (aka Moho) will be be in charge of the next rounds of DCW IRL, limited to 8 people each, going on for the time period of a month. They should post their starting post by September 10th, giving them two weeks to decide on exactly what they would like to do and to back out if need be.) (I declare this thread officially closed. Please refrain from posting in it. If there are any questions that remain, it should be posted in the general thread or through PM.) (Any suggestions should be directed at the DCW General Thread which also contains a new poll.)
  7. (1. Special ops is a specialized group of soldiers that are trained in many different disciplines. They are not as prominent in the US army now, having been replaced by the SEALs. They took on a variety of missions, invasions, sabotage, etc. They were highly skilled in various activities including diving, running, weaponry, first aid, etc. They were not permitted to wear tattoos or other distinguishing markings, nor allowed to have social networking accounts or even pictures of themselves on the internet. 2. I never said Valther's place was the same as Amsel's. 3. How can you know that? For all you know, there are hidden defenses in the walls. I'm not going to tell you everything. That would take all the fun out of it. 4. Weaponry? It varies. I can't give you all the details because in real life, you wouldn't know all of them. In fact, I've been lenient in giving hints about what each of the buildings contain. I give you the basic layout so that you are familiarized with everything and have a basic view of what you can do. The real reason I am putting it out there is because one of the elements in the safehouse is key to your escape.)
  8. (And technically, it ends at 20:00 Eastern Standard Time.)
  9. (The great almighty conclusion post is scheduled for tomorrow, AiL. :V) A piece of paper lay nearby. Uncrumpling it, it says... With open eyes now See what used to be For everything is hidden And everything is secret For every entrance, there is an exit The problem? Finding it Behind faded wishes Is the path you seek (Description of the facilities: 1) Main Entrance (goes through the forest, guarded heavily by ex-special ops, hidden) 2) Main Building (four floors, one basement, one rooftop with helicopter pad but no helicopter; contains Amsel's office) 3) Storage rooms (ten in total, six are locked) 4) Rotistan Building (two floors, one basement, sloped rooftop, contains heavily encrypted files that are all coded and primed to explode if password is incorrect) 5) Tristan Building (three floors, no basement, flat rooftop with garden, contains kitchen, empty offices with unknown lettering and scratches; several holding rooms) 6) Outer area (contains four wells, one at each corner of the base, too low to use to climb over; contains one large garden and forest, video cameras installed; contains all the buildings) 7) Guard house and towers (guard house holds twenty guards, guard towers hold ten guards each, four guard towers in total at each corner) 8) Garage (contains two Jeeps, both fingerprint activated) Hope that helps. P.S. You can ask questions about the facilities if you like, though I may not answer them.)
  10. (EST = Eastern Standard Time. As for the riddle, I do not know. You guys kept mentioning one, I assumed that was it. I can write one if need be.)
  11. (In this, it is referring to Adohalv.) (No, you are not late. The deadline is Sunday, August 26th, 20:00 EST or 8 PM EST)
  12. Due to the fact that the mod is stupid and forgot to take her traveling time into account, the thread should be wrapped up by 20:00 EST; all posts afterwards will not count. However, the mod may be late in posting the concluding post.
  13. In the office, there was a signed letter. "Did you really expect things to be this easy? Bad children. You haven't solved my riddle and you've paid the price. You will not find me or my followers down here. 24 hours, dear. 24 hours."
  14. In all honesty, DCW is definitely not the place to post fanfics. Certainly, you may gain some readers and some attention, but the exposure is minimal. DCW was not created for fanfiction and if you're expecting a wide readership, you're sure to be disappointed. Adding to the recent downhill trend of the number of active members, I'd recommend you post your stories to www.fanfiction.net. On the other hand, I did take a look at your thread and to be honest, I still don't believe you're going to get many readers that way. You have to actually post a chapter for someone to review it--most people will already be dissuaded from reading your topic when they see the scarcity of words. You can always post fanfic request threads but threads purely for promoting unwritten fanfiction, especially one this short, will be unlikely to generate much attention. Of course, as a fellow writer, I wish you the best of luck with your fanfiction. I'm just saying that this may not be the best place to put it.
  15. Apologies for not posting this earlier. The official time for this thread to end has expired. Please wrap up the plot within the next 3 days by August 26th, 20:00 EST. On August 26th, IdentityUnknown will post a concluding post.
  16. Dear Anonymous, Often, people only start to pray when things get desperate. And often, that's too late. ~ Anonymous Dear Anonymous, What are you thinking? I can't make heads or tails out of you anymore. ~ Anonymous
