  1. (Added rule. Please put all talk that is not actually occurring in the story in brackets for clarification.)
  2. Noted. Thanks Moho. And yes, I got impatient. (Though technically they would've been on DCW for one month after one DCW IRL round... =X)
  3. Loophole. You can be taped or bound by rope (or something else if you can think of it). Your choice.
  4. Oh, and Tsukiko, for convenience can you post a brief description of yourself?
  5. The mod can post a few paragraphs in closing to resolve the plot. In the case of the writers not posting for 5 consecutive days, the mod can feel free to mess up the plot and make the world explode if they choose to.
  6. I think that General POV is generally easier to manage. This can be debated though.
  7. Current Round(s): Currently no rounds in progression. Claims for the next DCW IRL rounds Round 12 - ??? Round 13 - COULD BE YOU!!! Italics - tentative Backup Moderator List - IdentityUnknown - Misaki-chan Requirements to be a DCW IRL moderator - You must be able to keep track of the storyline and keep the plot moving in some way, maybe by posting an event every two or three days. - You must have good grammar and spelling. Note: this does not mean flawless, but your English grammar and spelling should be sufficient enough to be understood by others. - You must be experienced. You must have actively participated in at least two DCW IRL rounds (or the first DCW IRL round). To be deemed an active participant, you must've contributed to the thread at least once every two days. You must also have actively participated in at least one DCW IRL round in the last 60 days. The exception is listed below. - If you have obtained special permission from IdentityUnknown or Mohorovicic, you do not need to have participated in two DCW IRL rounds. This special permission lasts for only one round. Finally, a moderator should be responsible. They need to be able to know when they cannot manage a thread so it can be handed off to someone else. What exactly does a moderator do? A DCW IRL moderator is also responsible for notifying the members the day before the time limit ends as well as posting on the thread if the writers have not posted for 5 consecutive days to give them a chance to continue. The mod may also post something in closing after the time limit and plot resolving period have ended. After 5 consecutive days without posting, the mod may feel free to end the thread in any way they choose to. Inactivity - If a moderator fails to post an event for a period of three days without properly passing off their position or notifying others, they will be kicked and the game temporarily suspended until a capable moderator is found. If no such moderator is found, the game will be discontinued. - A moderator may choose to pass off their position to another moderator. The same rules apply to them and they must pass the requirements to be a DCW IRL moderator. Backup Moderators - Backup moderators can be consultants and can take over an RP should the original mod not be able to come on or should they feel the need to relinquish their position. Those who are available as backup mods are listed above. Moderators may choose from the list or they may ask to choose an unlisted member as a backup mod. This member must meet the requirements as a moderator. - If a member wishes to be a backup mod, they may PM IdentityUnknown. If they wish to remove their name from the list, they should also PM IdentityUnknown. Backup mods who have not participated in a DCW IRL round recently will have their name removed. Moderating Tips To sign up to be a DCW IRL moderator, simply PM IdentityUnknown. Moderating positions are handed out on a first come first serve basis if you meet the requirements. Please do not request two rounds at the same time. If a mod drops the thread by either not posting an event for 4 consecutive days or by handing off, the next moderator can take over or the thread can be taken over by another member. If the mod reappears within three days after handing off or not posting and requests their position back, it will be returned. After that period of time, the thread will officially be taken over by the new mod. Do not reply to this this thread. Questions may be directed through the General info area or by PMing IdentityUnknown.
  8. Welcome to the general info thread of DCW IRL! This is where you should go for the general information on DCW IRL. First off, DCW IRL is a form of roleplay, with each member involved playing themselves. A DCW IRL moderator is assigned to keep things in check and keep the story going. The thread starts off with a scenario proposed by the moderator. Then, a member posts a bio for themselves before continuing the story. The first DCW IRL thread can be found http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/forum/topic/1689-dcwirl/'>here. Rules for DCW IRL (are subject to change): DCW IRL Mission Statement: To provide a setting where DCWers interested in roleplay may freely participate in a high-quality roleplay environment; to provide a roleplay environment which veterans can enjoy, yet inclusive so newbies can participate; to give DCWers a place to express their inner creativity, or just release steam. About DCW IRL: So You Want to Roleplay: The Moderators: So You Want to be a Round Moderator: Last updated September 16th, 2013. FAQ What should I put in a bio? In fact, what is a bio? What's involved in a post? How much should I post? Why is there an imposed time limit? What happens if I'm inactive? What's an NPC? What can I do with him/her/it? If you have any other questions, you can post them below or PM IdentityUnknown about them. Stay on topic in this thread. Discussion must be limited to relevant discussion.
  9. DCW IRL Beta Version is up! Link: General information and FAQ will be posted shortly, along with moderating signups. Please PM me if you are interested.
  10. As agreed upon in the previous thread, it has been decided that a new DCW IRL thread should emerge, permitting all new members to participate. The following are rules that have been decided for each thread. While there is no disciplinary action (unless it is regarding content), please do note that this is for the convenience of each and every member. Rules: 1. Please roleplay as yourself and ONLY use yourself or NPCs (non player characters). Do not control other people's characters unless given permission by that person. 2. DCW IRL has a maximum of 10 number of people in each version. (This may change as this is the beta version) 3. Keep swear words to a minimum. 4. Keep everything at PG13 as most of the people here are underage. 5. Keep things semi realistic. No superhero like powers or inability to die etc. 6. You may not participate in two rounds simultaneously. 7. You must put brackets around all talk that is not physically occurring in the actual To join, simply post below with the name you're using, your age, and a basic description of yourself. Then, let the fun begin! Rules Specific to this Round: - This round is limited to 10 people. As of now, there are 0 spots left. - This is a beta round and things will be changed accordingly after it. - The time limit for this round is one month. After the time period, if the plot has not been resolved, the writers will be given 5 days to come to a conclusion. If the writers do not post in the thread for 5 consecutive days, the thread will be locked. Players: 1. BK201 (kidnapper) 2. Tsukiko (kidnappee) 3. AiSuigetsu (kidnappee) 4. Misaki-chan (kidnappee) 5. Anime Girl 4 Eva (kidnappee) 6. Wonderstruck (kidnappee) 7. PhiBrainChild (kidnappee) 8. Akai Sera (on the outside) 9. OTTD Player (kidnapper) 10. Hano (kidnappee/disqualified due to inactivity) ~~~ You still have no idea how you got into this freaking mess. It's the middle of the day and everyone around is trying to get lunch. People are talking in loud voices on phones and they're really, really annoying. It's hot and you're tired. In fact, right now, you want nothing more than to get back home to sit in front of your computer with a cold drink and something to eat. But of course, life's never that easy. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, you hear gunshots. For a moment, everything stops and everything is silent. Then, a second later, people are screaming and running. Some have dropped to the ground in a futile attempt to protect themselves. You freeze. A woman is holding a child. A masked person grabs her by the arm. The child is crying and the woman is sobbing. "No, don't, please, don't!" she screams. The masked man pays no attention as he whips the child out of her hands. Suddenly, someone grabs you by the shoulder. Before you have time to react, something is pushed to your face and somehow, instinctively, you know it's chloroform. Some time later, you're not sure how long, you wake up. Your wrists ache from ropes that are chafing your skin. You glance around and find you're in a large van. There are 10 people including yourself, of all different ages. Some are gagged, some are not, though everyone is bound in some form or another. Some are awake and some are still asleep. Some of these people have bruises and one person has a fresh cut on the cheek. (You can be one of the kidnapped victims or one of the kidnappers. The number of kidnappers that are played by members is limited to 3. The rest of the characters are all NPCs to be used as you like. You may also be a person on the outside but you must be in close contact with the story or else you face writing your own story. The number of people on the outside that are played by members is limited to 1.) Character Bios (ordered by role the person originally started when playing and then by order they posted in; will be updated): Kidnappers: BK201: OTTD Player: Kidnappees: Tsukiko: AiSuigetsu: Misaki-chan: Anime Girl 4 Eva: Wonderstruck: PhiBrainChild: Hano: On the Outside: Akai Sera:
  11. I'm writing up the thread now. If Moho isn't able to do it, I'll also be putting up FAQ, general rules, IRL moderating signups, etc. soon.
  12. I agree, but as the beta version, 10 is a rounder and easier number to try out. We can adjust accordingly in the next rounds. Hmm, that's probably the most difficult hurdle. Maybe...if no one posts on the thread for 5 days in a row, the thread should be locked. To prevent inactivity. It's really hard to say because there's no time when a thread will definitely be resolved. Or we can say that after the time limit, the people in the thread have a week to wrap things up.
  13. Move to Forum games. Thanks. <3

  14. That's a good idea. Just note that that means you'll also have to moderate that and keep an eye on things. Question: How many people should each round be limited to? I'm thinking we can do the beta round with 10 and adjust accordingly. EDIT: So...let's lock this thread once Moho posts the reference signups and general discussion. An FAQ (if you can do that) would be nice as well.
  15. I think we might want to kick it off soon. I'm thinking that there should be no more than 10 people (actually, less is probably preferable, easier to keep track of) and maybe two threads at the same time? And no joining both threads at the same time, that's just unfair. We could start with just one thread going on at once, then, if everyone finds it to be good, we can start doing it two threads at a time.
  16. That's probably a good idea. (I call first round) I think that the moderator will not actually play in the story (as in, be a character), but can make events occur and can use the players characters to a certain extent. And time limit is...two weeks? Problem is, these things tend to last a longer time (I'm thinking that to have a decent story, it needs maybe a month), so we could have two or three threads going on at once. Anyways, let's create a signup sheet for moderating DCW IRL rounds. Requirements: - must be able to login at least once every two or three days to check on thread - must have decent grammar, spelling - must have been on DCW for XX number of days/have had XX number of posts (not sure what to put for this...maybe 10 days minimum and 200 posts?) - if they are unable to check on thread, must be able to hand off to someone else (I know I can take over if necessary and I'm sure that some of the older members can as well) Anything else? We can sign up here, and after we have this thread locked, requests for moderating can be PMed to me. Btw: Starting with DCW IRL Version 2.0 Beta since we changed just about everything from the original DCW IRL. Moderators can post their own titles, but when listing, it'll just be 2.0, 2.1. 2.2, etc. List of DCW IRL Moderators Version 2.0 Beta - IdentityUnknown
  17. Hmm. That's a good point. How about events should be semi realistic? And a definition of semi realistic would be that there would be no superpowers, inability to die, etc. (yeah, my definition's kinda broad at the moment) I think that for storyline it should be given a little slack (just meeting and talking isn't really all that interesting). EDIT: I'm also thinking that each thread will be marked as (Open) or (Closed) and the first post can be edited to say who's in each thread. Open means there's still space left, closed means all the spots are filled and if you have a satisfying group and don't want anyone to join, it can also be changed to Closed.
  18. Oddly enough, you don't show up on my friends' list... :/

  19. Personally, I don't feel there's much more to discuss. :/ Right now, barely anyone posts. I doubt that'll change with time, and this would cause confusion.
  20. They're based on the number of posts you have. Don't remember exactly how many posts you need for each, but one green dot is for Newbie, two is for Member, three is for Advanced. After you hit 500 posts, you can change it to anything you like (within reason) and after you hit 750, you can change your username Hope this helps.
  21. I'm assuming you mean lineless, not lintless. =X It's nice, though I'd agree it's not as great as your other drawings. For some reason, in this one, Fuyumi seems to resemble a young but white haired Sato. The drawing overall seems decent, though it needs a lot more practice to make some things come together better (the curtain's overlapping folds, the shadows, the rabbit) and if you cleaned it up a little and made some editing, it could be better. However, at a first attempt at lineless, it is pretty good. You used a tablet for this, right?
  22. Aww, I remember you. :)

Added. And I live in a certain country and currently am in a certain country. :P
