OH! You mean like Anime Castle! Yeah... We totally have them here. They are just not common in the US, but they do exist.

You can blame the Comics Code for that... it essentially stagnated the comic book industry in the USA, which thereby made it seem like anything drawn was "just for children." Since we're still struggling with our own media, it's going to be hard to get foreign media too much attention either. I'm glad things are changing and the Comics Code is laughed at, but it's still a slow process. You can read the code here (and I suggest googling it for more on the ramifications ...
