  1. New art! Started out as me trying out this awesome background tutorial, and pretty much ended with this. I'm trying to improve my digital painting skills (or lineless art; I'm not sure which is the correct term =X), so please critique and tell me where I can improve and where I did well! ^^ Thanks~ A Walk In The Woods:
  2. (Sorry I've been dead for a few days D: School decided to eat me and not give me enough time to write >_<) ------- Misaki tried to ignore the chill of the freezer as she inspected the body once more. It was actually quite possible that she had missed something, though she didn't want to admit it. I knew I should have kept that statue to myself. Che, stupid annoying twats... Because of them, I revealed information I didn't check out before. Her fingers dragged lightly across the surface of the dead as she tried to find something, anything that could give them new information. Gently, she felt the head wound to notice it was smaller than she originally thought. The blood masked how big it was... Her fingers circled around it as she noticed the wound was a hole, a small one at that. She narrowed her eyes. Gunshot wound. Well, at least she died quickly. Now I wonder.... After looking over the body once more, her and the girl left to go back to their room (because apparently they were sharing one). The first thing they did was check for spying devices, since you never know what might be done. While they finished up their search, the crinkling of a wrapper accompanied the voice of the girl as she said, "Looks like its safe." "You realized too," Misaki noted as she went through the last of her belongings, taking out a set of bandages while doing so. I'll probably need to change them soon, so I might as well bring new ones for Aki to use. "That someone was spying? Yea... That was pretty obvious." Em said as she heard the sound of something being put into her mouth. "So, what did you find out?" A pause ensued. She didn't feel like talking, not really. This was why she liked working alone. You didn't have to say stuff aloud and you could keep things to yourself. But eventually (and rather forcibly), she admitted with a scowl, "... You're right. It was a tiny wound." She didn't like being wrong. Not one bit. Her pride was too big to want to have to admit she was wrong, but she knew that she had to some times. Didn't mean she did it without being unhappy. "From the looks of it, you know something more?" Em continued. Misaki twitched. Is she so desperate for information that she needs to bait me so obviously? She was stressed and annoyed and she really didn't want to deal with people who can't figure thing out for themselves on top of that. "Well...? Misaki?" She snapped. She retorted, her tone harsh and her stare cold, "If you want information, get it on your own you lazy cow." Taking her crutch, Misaki left the room, closing the door in a mighty slam. As she did, she grumbled to herself, "Ugh, I need to go somewhere quiet.... That noisy woman was too much." ----- (Sorry for being so mean >__<)
  3. "What... do you think about this entire incident?" A pause ensued before Misaki clarified, "What do I think?" The girl gave a nod. As she started walking again and, as a result, forced the girl to follow, she said, "Well, I honestly feel sorry for Ms. Scarlet. After all, she was murdered. I also feel that not everyone should be handling a crime scene if they can't see an obvious head wound. What else.... Oh yes, that damn voice. I swear I will cause them ten times the amount of pain, especially since they laughed. The jerk...." She glared darkly off to the side before continuing, "I also want to cause the killer, or killers, a boatload of pain since it's their fault I got this damn sprained ankle." Misaki didn't like pain. At all. She was rather sensitive to it, and has always been. They kept walking, no sound filling the air except their voices. She was quite lucky the rug on the floor was so thick the clacking couldn't be heard. "Oh, and also," she added as she thought of something, "I wonder if there's more to the people living here than there seems. After all, we've hardly seen any of them except for Aki." "Who?" "The maid." The girl gave a nod as she continued, "It feels suspicious to me. You'd think we'd see more of them, but they're hiding like rats." The girl agreed, "You're right, I haven't seen much of them either. But perhaps they prefer to be mourning alone" "Maybe...." She wasn't sure why she was talking so much to this girl. Perhaps it was nice to share your deductions with someone else. She never really have done it before, so she this was a first for her. Well, Mother did always say to try and be sociable if you want something in return... After all, you never know if this girl might find a lovely piece of evidence. All of the sudden, Misaki stopped, causing the girl to bump into her. She started, "Hey why-" before promptly getting a hand over her mouth. They watched, hidden behind a corner as a woman said to herself, "That Misaki...may merit an investigation." as she walked down the hall. As soon as she was gone for a considerable amount of time, Misaki removed her hand off of the girl's mouth and pondered, "I wonder what that was about..." As she walked down the hall, she noticed a slightly ajar door, the one leading to Maxwell's study. "Weird...." She entered, looking around to see what the woman did. "W-wait," the girl said as she tried to stop her from entering, "Do you really think this is a good idea?" "Please, I did it once and I'll do it again." She stayed silent, not interfering with what Misaki was doing as she approached the desk where the statue was earlier. I wonder if the statue is still there... As she opened the drawer, she stared at the now-empty drawer. "Damn it," she muttered to herself, "I should have hidden the information longer... Now the stupid thing is gone." ----- (Add on as you wish )
  4. (@Heksu, whoops. =X I'll fix that.) ----- Misaki chewed at her dinner with more forced than necessary, rather annoyed over the fact that she was injured and had found nothing new out. She eventually left her food where it was, using the crutch Aki (who decided to be nice to her for whatever reason) had provided for her. The rhythmic clacking of the crutch rang out through the room since no body was talking. Not surprising, seeing how nobody knew much about the murderer. As she walked down the hallway to do some more investigating, she kept muttering to herself all the facts she knew (another habit she had picked up over the years). Suddenly, someone bumped into her. Misaki looked at who it was to see it was the fainting girl. What was her name again? The girl stuttered, "Mi-Misaki?" She responded, her tone crisp, "Yes?" The girl quickly popped something into her mouth, savoring the taste before saying, "Sorry about bumping into you..." "It's fine." She really didn't want to deal with people more than necessary. "Can I ask you something?" Damn it. "Go ahead." ---------- (Hope you have something to ask Kid-chan =X)
  5. "Because, unlike the rest of you, I decided to look beyond the body." After Misaki has said that, a large voice appeared out of no where. "It seems you all have been getting some good ideas," the deep voice boomed. "Unfortunately, you are still far from the truth. Anyways, onto the matter of your punishment..." and suddenly the house began to shake, but it settled quickly. She felt a stabbing pain in her ankle before kneeling down, clutching it as it throbbed.. The deep voice laughed. "Look at you, helpless. This is your final warning: find Ms. Scarlet's killers and bring them to justice, or IT. WILL. BE. YOUR. DOOM." The voice quieted, leaving an ominous taste in the air. Misaki cursed the voice out, not really caring about the others around. People rushed over to try and help her and the other person who had been injured as well, but she pushed them away as she staggered over to the nearby sofa. She kept on swearing as she took her boot off to not trap the injury. She glared darkly. Damn voice, giving me a freaking sprained ankle. I swear I will stick bullet holes into him the minute I find out who he is. Aki came over, stuttering, "U-um... D-do you w-want m-me t-to w-wrap that f-for y-you?" She looked at the maid. While she hated to depend on others (debts were such a pain to repay), Misaki was rather bad at wrapping a sprained ankle well. So, she responded reluctantly, "... If you want to, fine." The girl quickly got to work, having it done within minutes. Misaki looked at it, almost admiring it for how well done it was done before saying, "Thank you." Probably going to be the first and last praise I'm giving on this trip. ----- (Dang it, I'm injured D: Aki, heal meeee)
  6. "A-any idea what could be the weapon used? I-if we can establish the murder weapon, a-and if we can find it... th-then it would be a big clue to how the murderer did it!" "Kröhöm" a man said as he stood up and cleared his voice to draw attention to himself. "She was hanged on the clock drawcord which is red and from her own bedroom." Misaki gave him an annoyed stare. He really didn't go over the body well, did he? Even though that head wound was rather obvious. She was likely killed by being whacked over the head with that statue and then hung post-mortem. He shouldn't speak if he doesn't have the facts right, geez. He then turned away and walked out of the room. The hell? Suddenly, the loud clanging of a bell was heard. Someone scream in surprise as another promptly ran over to the door and threw it open before punching the person ringing the bell in the face. Misaki stared at the scene as the person who got punched (turning out to be Finnish boy) grasped his nose, obviously in pain. Like I care. As others went to go help him, she spoke up. Not because she wanted to help, but because having idiots who can't even see a bloody head wound running this case would just get in her way. "She was more likely hung after she died than before," she said. As everyone looked at her, she continued, "There was a head wound on Ms. Scarlet, given to her via a small statue. In my opinion, she was likely killed by the head wound and then was hung post-mortem for whatever reason the murderer had." Someone asked, "How do you know that she was bludgeoned with a statue?" She pulled out her phone, revealing the picture she had taken in Maxwell's office. "Because," she retorted, "unlike the rest of you, I decided to look beyond the body." ------- (Sorry if I sound mean Heksu D: Though I did add that detail about implied a head wound. =X And ta da )

  8. (I did now. =X Whoops. Will be changing now.) (Fixed)
  9. Misaki woke up, noticing that she was alone. Oh yeah, despite that talk of roommates, I ended up getting my own room. She quickly got ready, doing the things needed to be done such as changing clothes, brushing her hair and grabbing any tools she may need. Only five minutes after she had awoken was she out the door. She walked down the hall, the heel of her boots clacking softly against the tiled floor. As she walked down the staircase, she threaded her fingers through her hair as she muttered to herself, "Need coffee...." Going through the dining room, she entered the kitchen to find Aki. As soon as the girl saw her, she blushed, probably remembering last night. Misaki assured, "Don't worry; all I want is coffee." A second later, a cup of the beverage was in her hands. Looks like she was making some before she came. The woman gave a nod of appreciation before heeding out, sipping the hot drink. As she walked towards the living room, she heard the buzz of talking. Probably the others watching the news. While she had no interest in the TV, she did want to listen in on their conversation in case they had new clues. As she entered, the fainting girl said as she rose her hand up shyly, "Ano... Shouldn't we make introductions first?" The room fell silent for a moment before another person agreed, "Ah. Yea. That's a good idea. Who shall we start from?" She continued, "How about... the one who just arrived?" They all looked at Misaki. Well there goes getting information without being noticed. She gave an annoyed glance at the girl before saying, "Misaki. 23." After her, the group went around making introductions, though she didn't really listen. She wasn't interested. As she went back to sipping her coffee, someone said, "So, now that we have everyone's name, shall we start our discussion?"
  10. (BTW, I've been wondering; How long is Injury sustained for?)

  12. (I think the boss is a free-for-all =X And adding on at my end of the story because hell, why not) ------ Misaki groaned as she sat up, her head pounding. She rubbed it, in a futile attempt to alleviate the pain. Groaning, she muttered, "God, I feel like I'm hungover..." "Oh, so you're awake?" She looked at the source of the voice to find Audire sitting in a nearby chair, looking up from what seemed to be a book. Misaki asked, "What the heck happened....?" The secretary answered, "You were shot in the shoulder then passed out. The boss had a few of his guards and I take you here so you'd be out of the line of fire. Oh, and I hope you don't mind that I wrapped your wound before changing your shirt. I didn't think you'd want to be in something bloody, so..." She looked down to notice that she was wearing a different shirt then before. And now that she was paying more attention, she could feel the texture of the bandages clinging to her wounded shoulder. Audire kept talking, "And here, have an aspirin. You probably feel rather sore now..." She handed the girl a small white pill and a glass of water, which Misaki took gratefully. She said a thank you before swallowing the pill and washing it down with the cool liquid. She set the glass down on the coffee table in front of her as she let out a sigh and leaned back. After all that had happened, it was nice to relax for a few moments. Audire noted, "Oh, and one last thing. Aquilas will be coming to keep you company soon. But until then, I will be here. So if you need anything, please tell me." As Misaki gave her a nod, she saw that the woman had already gone back to reading. And so they sat, in silence, waiting for Aquilas to come. -------- (Filler 8D)
  13. KK. Will wait for a response then~

  14. Misaki snapped pictures of the statue in the drawer before closing it and exiting the room. By now, someone might have noticed she was missing, and being questioned was always a hassle. She hastily made her way back downstairs, where most people were still engrossed on the crime scene while others were discussing the case. They'll get nowhere if they don't look farther than the scene of the crime. Right away, Misaki noticed someone who hadn't been there before. A man, looking about mid thirties to early forties, standing around as he twirled a mustache. She walked up to him, seeing how he was the only one just standing there. She asked, "Not interested in how Ms. Scarlet was murdered?" He turned around, halting his mustache twirling, and replied, "Well, while Anne's death does startle me, I am not a very good sleuth as the guests here are." A pause occurred before he questioned, "And what about you my dear? You seem uninterested as well. After all, you aren't actually doing anything that would help bring poor Anne to justice." Misaki said, "Well, while I do wish for the murderers to be caught, everyone else seems to be handling things well. Also, I looked at the scene earlier." "So where were you then?" "Merely looking around." "You shouldn't do that, not with murderers around." "Don't worry, I'm quite capable of taking care of myself." Misaki left the man afterwards, giving him one last glance before heading towards the group. She didn't like the man at all, he looked like a rat, his features pointy and on the less than attractive side. And from how he spoke, he wasn't fond of her walking around. The group, as she learned after integrating into it, had found a nice amount of clues off the body and surrounding area. Well, it's good they found clues. They'll help me. Though I'll have to keep the statue clue away from them for a while, at least until I have more evidence... -------- (Oh goodie, now I'm more likely to be silenced. Joy.)
  15. Kid-chan~ Wanna be roomies in DCWIRL4? :3

  16. It's ok I guess. :< But I do need an answer by tomorrow since the night phase will be up by then. =X

  17. After the person had said this, she heard a thud. Misaki turned around to find a woman on the ground, either unconscious or dead. She wasn't sure. A male was hovering over her, seeming worried for her. "Lets go to the living room to get our catch our breath and relax," he said," And you few over there cover her with that useless table cloth." He pointed to first the girl, then the table cloth before he and another male guest carried the unconscious female onto the sofa in the next room. As a few others scurried to get the table cloth as instructed, Misaki ignored the man and began to head towards the staircase, having taken enough pictures of the crime scene and not wanting to have to take care of some weak willed person she didn't know. Plus, she wanted to take a look upstairs since at one point Ms. Scarlet's dead body had been there, ready to swing out at the right time. From the dining room, she herd someone ask, "Does anyone have reception on their mobiles to call the police? 'Cause mine ain't go none." Misaki rolled her eyes as she ascended the stairs, glancing behind her to see if anyone was noticing that she was leaving. Everyone was too absorbed in either themselves or the body, so she was allowed to work without interruption. As she walked down one of the many halls on the upper level, her fingertips gently dragging across the wall. It had been a habit she had picked up as a child and never really went away. Her eyes wandered around the area, looking for anything that might had been used for the murder. Once in a while, she opened a door to look inside, though what she mostly got was bedrooms. There was one door though that caught her attention. It was slightly different than the bedroom doors, as it was made of a different wood. Oak perhaps instead of the usual maple. She opened the door quietly and peeked in, discovering an empty study. She entered, not bothering to close the door and looked around. The place was well furnished, with high quality things all around. The first thing that stood out to her was that the person who's study this was had a lovely collection of antique weapons displayed on the wall. A tiny grin appeared on her face as she approached the old-time guns and knives and marveled at them. She always had a fondness for such things. So mesmerized by the beauty of the antiques, she almost didn't notice a meek voice say, "... E-Excuse m-me... Y-you sho-shouldn't b-be in h-here..." Misaki turned around to find a short, spectacled girl cowering by the door. Clad in her black knee length dress and white apron, it was pretty obvious she was a maid. She took her attention away from the weapons and approached her before asking, "Oh? And why not?" The girl kept stuttering, "B-because... M-Mister Ma-Maxwell will b-be v-very angry a-at you i-if he f-finds y-y-you he-here..." "Well, er," she started. "M-my name i-is Aki." "Well, Aki, don't worry about me," Misaki said as she got closer to Aki, their height differences making it so she was towering over the girl, "I'll be fine. Just keep doing your job, ok?" "B-but-!" She leaned in closer until she was only a few inches away from her face. She asked, looking Aki straight in the eye "Won't you please let me stay a little longer?" Aki's face, flushed red, ran out of the room before she could respond. Misaki grinned as the nuisance was now gone. Really, such shy people can be so easy to rid of, especially her type. All you need is to get close and personal and they'll leave. She turned back to the weapons, grinning more now that she could have more personal time with them. As she tried to get back to the lovely weapons, her navy dress managed to snag onto the handle of the slightly-open drawer of the desk. "Really," she muttered angrily to herself as she worked at getting her hem free from the clutches of the drawer, "You'd think people would be smarter than to make dress-snagging handles." When Misaki managed to get herself free, she decided to take a little peek into the drawer. After all, there might be something interesting in there. When she opened it, she stared at the small statue hidden inside, a dark brown stain at the base of it. "Well," she said, "It looks like I just found a prime suspect." ------ (Poor Aki, being harassed by me. =X And oo! Clue )
  18. DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD: ;_______________; So much waiting~~

  19. *pokeeeeeeeeee* Any answer on the DCWIRL roomie thing?

  20. Pictures from my trip to Southern Japan Don't have a Twitter, but have some pictures of Southern Japan for your project. As for a name, just put it under Misaki.
  21. (OK, since we should probably finish this, is there anyone who is still interested in continuing the story or should we just blow everyone up and be done with it? =X)
  22. Profile vvvv Misaki, along with the other guests, was eating her dinner when it happened. A blackout had occurred, with everyone else but her worried about it (as she saw it, it was merely dining in the dark; nothing really meant being upset over) until the scream rang out. She kept eating, assuming it was only of the overreacting guests. It was only when the lights turned on did she know it was something far more sinister. From the ceiling hung the dead body of Ms. Scarlet, their host. A few people screamed, Misaki stared at the body, shocked into silence. A few of the males went to lower the body, finding it cruel to leave her there. It was then did they discover the note, with "Happy Birthday" in a crimson color written on it. As a few people tried to run and get away, she approached the body, wanting to see it. She noted a few others doing the same. As she casually snapped pictures of the body using her phone, the first thing she noticed was that, hidden in her straw-colored hair, was dried blood. She must have been knocked out by having something hit her. Either that or the hanging was post-mortem. As she continued to examine the body more, the same people who had tried to escape came back. Something must have prevented them from leaving. From all the snowing that was going on when we got here, it's likely that. Misaki ignored them, not really caring for any of them. From behind her, someone announced, "We must work together to find the murderer to poor Ms. Scarlet and give her justice!" ---- (Ta da )
