A role-swap alternative universe of Detective Conan. This is my alternative take on Detective Conan series, where I swap almost every character's role while maintaining some of their personality and creating new ideas for them. CHARACTER SWAPS (so far): Role Swapped: Shinichi/Conan ⇄ Ran/Agatha Mouri Kogoro ⇄ Prof. Agasa Sonoko ⇄ Kyogoku Megure ⇄ Midori Takagi ⇄ Sato Heiji ⇄ Kazuha Kobayashi ⇄ Rumi Naeko ⇄ Yumi Chiba ⇄ Shiratori Akai Shuichi/Subaru Okiya ⇄ Jodie Starling/Jodie Saintemilion Vodka ⇄ Akemi Miyano (both Shiho and Akemi are gonna be normal BO agents like Vodka, while repurposing the character "Lady in black" from Ep. 129 to take Gin's role) Dr. Araide ⇄ Chris/Vermouth Hidemi Hondou/Kir ⇄ Mary Sera Kaito Kid ⇄ Akako Koizumi Masumi Sera ⇄ Eisuke Hondou Rei Furuya/Amuro/Bourbon ⇄ Hiromitsu Morofushi/Scotch Traits Swapped: Ayumi → Mitsuhiko Mitsuhiko → Genta Genta → Ayumi Miyano Shiho/Sherry/Ai Haibara → ???/Gin/(haven't think on a name) Hakuba → Kaito & Aoko Eri Kisaki ⇄ Yukiko Kudo (These are up to change, there's more character to cover) CHARACTER DESIGNS: RAN MOURI She shows off as super confident and determinate, wanting to bring justice to the citizens of Beika by exposing the culprits. Like how Shinichi is a fan of Sherlock Holmes, Ran would be a huge fan of Wild Western movies, having some sort of Sheriff persona (the series is known for incorporating western material into the manga). She's still pretty popular around there, especially in the middle-school. Well, just like her best friend in the original anime, she also shows up as some sort of ego and gets so enthusiastic every time she solves a case, pretty much annoying Shinichi. I'd imagine that after she solved a counterpart of Roller Coaster Murder Case, Shinichi (instead of crying) would feel really annoyed of Ran for not feeling any sadness and how she just tries to deny her feelings towards these cases and that she's just her daily life of being a detective. It's like she doesn't really open up her emotions yet Of course, she feel a terrifying aura when Sherry and her sister comes nearby in front of them, planning something suspicious and she goes there to check. And you know what happens next… She gets knocked by an actual "new" BO character, you'll find out soon who's them… AGATHA RAMPO "I might be little, but my heart is fulled of justice, and remember, bad guys, I'm a detective... and it's the detective's job to BRING THE TRUTH TO THE LIGHT!" So Ran gets shrinken after taking the mysterious drug... For Mouri Ran's alter-ego, she goes by the name of "Agatha Rampo" and goes to live at Shinichi's house, where she could hide her secret identity and have to solve daily mystery cases as Agasa (who's the clumsy private detective in this universe) is... not good at his job, so she uses her father's inventions to help him out to become a successful detective, so she can manage to investigate the Black Organization without any suspicion. SHINICHI KUDO His design is unchanged, so I drew him with soccer outfit. Taking the Ran's role, he'd be showing more of his Sherlock and soccer nerd side. He'd be the reason why Ran would be interested in solving mystery cases. He's still introvert and kinda rude, but laid-back a bit. He still lives in his home (without his parents as they went to US) with his neighbor Agasa, but when he meets up with Agatha, he'd let him stay there. He also had to deal with Agasa's incompetence and clumsyness as a private detective, since he started his own detective agency, so he had to go there to make sure he doesn't screw over (he doesn't have any deduction skills, so he tries to help Agasa's deductions). AGASA HIROSHI Basically he's a private detective here. Despite being a intelligent professor, he lacks any critical thinking and he's really clumsy and incompetent at his job. Always liking to make puns and quizzes to make a show of himself, similar to how Kogoro does when trying to explain his deductions. Shinichi trying to help him wherever he can, so he can make his job right… Despite that, he's still good-hearted man and does take the job seriously (sometimes) Btw, he doesn't actually knock at Agatha everytime she intervene at crime scenes, instead he grounds her or try to take her out of crime scene. So basically a responsable parent, unlike Kogoro. Still thinking what to do with "Sleeping Kogoro" counterpart, if I make Agatha use her voice changing gadget from her father to use him as mouthpiece (Agasa would think it's his sub-conscious speaking to him and use it to speak his deduction) or just her tranquilize him like in the original. (More characters designs and ideas coming soon...) NOTES: Feedback is pretty much appreciated. It is still work-in-progress, but maybe one day I can make more detailed profiles for each character. Planning to just make it community-based, so you're welcome in having any takes on my swap AU or making fanworks about it. Just please credit me (DavidHolandaOne). I mean, I'm not planning to rewrite the entire series as a fanfic but with characters swapped lol. Hope you guys liked it

Hey everyone.. I've been thinking lately about the roundabouts of the ending of DC, per Gosho it is going to be a happy ending. However, for a series spanning more than a decade with a solid fanbase. I think the majority, as much as they would like to see DC end, they also would rather see a continuation of the DC series. For example, the Naruto series brings another Shippuden continuation, plus the Borutu series. Hence I thought perhaps a continuation to DC might, or rather, preferably should happen. However, what might come next?. The whole point of DC is to illustrate a spiritual successor to Sherlock Holmes in a Japanese setting, albeit adding more content to the core. But what if the story is elaborated upon, the black organization/Karasuma Group are only the enemies of Shinichi and his allies. While there might be other contending criminal organizations around the world, that end up as enemies to other related characters, and the story is even way bigger than it already is. Despite the 20+ years about a story set within a year, the continuation returns as a regular based story. Henceforth I imagined and theorized aftermath to the main DC story that I'd like to share with fellow fans, so enjoy reading a possible future theory. After Shinichi returns to his normal body and eliminates the BO once and for all, he grows into a superb detective recognized by the world. The story begins with Kudo Tairoku (a suggested name based on the first localized name for Sherlock in Japan), the male child of Shinichi and Ran. After Shinichi and Ran are married, Shinichi is approached by acquaintances of the FBI to help them solve cases internationally, Ran after opening a Karate dojo, drags along with Shinichi to keep him company. However, due to the nature of his work, they decide to leave their son Tairoku with his best friend and now the owner of the biggest and most successful detective agency in Japan, the Hattori detective agency, run by the owner himself Heiji Hattori who is an older and wiser world-famous detective (think alongside his preview of himself in 'the stranger in 9 years' ova and a close resemblant to Morihiku Dan of the Detective School Q series). Who is also married to Kazuha, and with their female child Haruna Heiji, welcomes Tairoku in their home. Tairoku, then learns more about his father as a detective and whose fame reached legendary status and Heiji's great wits through the interns of Heiji Detective Agency. However, after a certain incident, Tairoku, displaying intuitive well-honed detective skills, compared to his now-retired grandfather Yuusaku, concludes that the culprits are a small group of Heiji's students, who want to raise their status by solving cases they are responsible for. Tairoku, along with his new best friend Haruna (I suggest Tairoku, who looks like a mix of Yuusaku and Shinichi albeit with Shinichi's mother's hair color. And Haruna, is dark in skin color like her father but resemblant to her mother.) try to uncover the mystery behind the group, so they (middle school students) stumble upon a good friend of their parents, a young professor's assistant and a previous small-time detective Mitsuhiko. (By this time, the Detective Boys have disbanded due to their business with their careers. Mitsuhiko is now an assistant researcher at Tokyo's University, Ayumi is a homeroom teacher, both are married. And Genta is working fulltime at his family's restaurant with frequent puzzle solving skills though not honed enough and has acquired Agasa's sense for puzzle giving to the local children.) Mitsuhiko's lust for detective work is now reactivated, and he contacts both Ayumi and Genta to take a break from work and help the young Tairoku and Haruna in their case. Long story short, Haruna is awed by the Detective Boys' skills, who in turn are more amazed by Tairoku's skills and compare him to Conan's past life. When things get ugly, and the group finally corners them through malicious means, the DBoys are locked up, and Tairoku (through Karate skills he was taught by his mother Ran), tries to save Haruna. Except he is outnumbered, just then someone comes to his aid. The older Heiji was suspicious of this small group of his students, and therefore sent a friend of his to investigates them, who turns out to be Masumi Sera (now a police detective, like how Sato was, who btw is now a police inspector instead of Megure, who becomes the superintended, and Takagi has left the force to marry Sato and joins Hattori in overlooking his Tokyo's subteam of detectives.), the police detective Sera rescues Tairoku and Haruna, calls for backup and arrest the group. Tairoku is then approached by Heiji who scolds him a bit, but seeing how he used to be the same curious detective, he appoints Tairoku instead of the previous team. Tairoku, Haruna and now a young boy named Hanaba Atsushi, go on a series of detective cases over Japan. I also envision a continuation where Tairoku grows and comes to face new enemies such as, Kaito Kid the Third, A professor serial killer with a fanbase whom he controls to commit crimes, a new company trying to overtake the shoes of the now destroyed BO's operations. And possibly many subplots like DC; the series would now be called Detective Conan: Future Generations. Though I'm not sure how Conan would be now relevant since the identity of the boy once known as Edogawa Conan is now uncovered as Kudo Shinichi, perhaps in respects to his previous life as Conan, Shinichi names his son Conan instead of Tairoku, or better yet, the series focuses on the smarter younger brother of Tairoku's, Conan, who is the smarter brother of the stronger Tairoku. Although it can be enlarged through fan fiction, I would love to see Gosho's disciples take over the story and continue on it for the sake of the fans and the story itself. Yet I'm pretty positive Gosho would not want to continue with it, as he is more than ready to let it go. Anyways, if DC really ends with the destruction of BO and Shinichi is back to normal. Would you like to read/watch a sequel like mentioned above, or even take part in it? Let me know .

Personally I believe that Shiho is someone that Shinichi can't afford to lose. She is the only person who he can really benefit from in both his social life and also his career as a detective. I feel like if things ever get tough and seriously dangerous, Ran wouldn't be of much help. Shiho on the other hand can handle herself and wont hold him back as oppose to Ran. I believe that after the end of the series, Shinichi would develop as a person and a detective if Shiho was still in the picture.

Who, in your opinion are the smartest characters? I would like to believe that conan is the smartest as he seems to know everything, however in Yusaku's Cold Case (ep 690-691, chpt 812-813) it seems like Subaru Okiya was able to solve the case before Conan and even had to give Conan the hint to solve the case! Does this indicate that he's smarter than Conan or it was more like Conan was caught off guard by Sera asking him "Isn't that right?" regarding a question about Shinichi that he was unable to catch onto Sonoko saying "Ninja", the word which first gave Subaru the clue to solving the case?

If only I ever get an opportunity to write an ending twist of the series, I'd want Ran to be somehow connected to the Black Organisation. Maybe she could be Vermouth's sister, or anything like that. However , things will get resolved in the end , and she'll end of with Shinichi, but this should not be easy. Maybe it will be revealed that Ai Haibara is non another than Vermouth ( LOL) and she has been disguised to take care of her sister ( Ran) and take revenge from Kudo. Maybe Vermouth has some issues with Kudo and she wants him dead, but realizes that Ran truly loves Kudo, so she decides to forgive him ( after a lot of drama, of course) Maybe Kaito Kid seems to care about Ran because of her resemblance with his girlfriend , who is later revealed to be Vermouth. Maybe Kaito finds out that Vermouth and Ran are sisters and decides to unite them. Maybe Kaito always steals jewels because the only thing that could lead him to his girlfriend Vermouth ( now disguised as Ai Haibara ) is a ring that she owned. Maybe he sees a same type of ring in Ran's finger and this make him realize that Ran and Vermouth are sisters. I guess I have already written so much, that is never going to happen though. I wish..!

One of Gosho's answers in the latest Q&A session got me to thinking: "If Karate were in the Olympics, Ran would win the Gold Medal" I was thinking about something along those lines between my latest emotional breakdown between the hiatus periods of the alternate Bourbon story. Something that might give the Shin/Ran relationship some dramatic strain and depth. Perhaps during a break from school, Ran gets into a rather big karate tournament, and wins a major championship. Next thing you know, she's achieved a pretty sizable amount of fame, such as Shinich when the manga began. She's doing endorsements and magazine covers etc. Ran finds herself so busy with her new found notoriety that she doesn't have the time to communicate with Shinichi over the phone any more, nor spend much time at home with Conan, which causes him to feel somewhat jealous. This could also cause more reasons for him being unable to tell her about his secret, what with her becoming a public figure. I haven't figured out how it would be resolved, but it would be kind of a background event sprinkled throughout the story.

Whenever I re-visit the forums, it feels like going through an old dusty room dedicated to this place in my mind palace. Though this time, I wasn't able to resist the urge to post something. Probably because there's actually something that piqued my interest, and is enough of an excuse for a, hopefully, valid topic. But first off, I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year, and hope that you're enjoying the winter holidays. Now, I haven't been following the anime, or anything DC-related, for quite some time now. I do, however, check for new plot-related episodes, and of course openings and endings because it's always cool to see some nice editing and hear good music. And, as the title suggests, there's something I'd like to discuss about regarding the newest opening and ending. Here are the relevant parts: Opening Ending What I found odd is the number of times Shinichi is shown faceless, while in his former body. What makes it even more odd is that we're talking about one opening and one ending, both ran parallel with each other. It gave me a feeling as if they're hinting us that Shinichi's identity will slowly but surely fade away, and only Conan will remain at the end. And I'm not talking about others finding out that Conan is actually Shinichi, just about him not getting his former body back. The question is, is it just me? There are three possibilities: 1) I'm over-analyzing this 2) It is actually a hint 3) Whichever the case, it has already been answered elsewhere but I'm not aware of it It's just that, in all of the openings and endings so far, I've never seen them putting that much accent on a single detail. But then again, it may have simply been me not paying enough attention. So, what are your thoughts on this? PS: A bit of a time has passed before I tried submitting this post for the first time, and I almost lost the motivation of making one after seeing that my session has expired without any kind of a draft being saved, leaving me to write everything down again. Maybe it will spark some new ideas for future updates, hence why I'm mentioning it.

Hi, I'm thus far your newest member, I'm forever and from ever a fan of DC. Been born and raised alongside with the series that it got me to get obsessed with mysteries crimes and detectives, you can say I have learned everything through conan. I was introduced to my biggest love Sherlock Holmes through Conan, as almost all of you I'm that big of a fan. Maybe being a member may relief some of the obsession that lays underneath me, or maybe so??!!. An aspiring detective, novelist and a sportsman. My dream is to solve almost every mystery I come upon and to write a great detective novel. (you can say I'm more like Yuusaku than Shinichi, I don't mind since he is smarter ) Anyways nice to meet you all .
