This topic is for case discussion for chapters 771-773(?). The situation at Kogoro's agency looks tense. Hopefully this will help get the plot back on board, if not the Black Org plot, at least the Ran's suspicion plot that has been left hanging since the Sports Bar Case way back when.

I was surprised by this case. I didn't expect a serious case after an introduction of a new character. That is, if this is a serious case : ).

I'm not sure how this will bring back Ran's suspicion plot, but I do see how Sera will gather more evidence via this case. I'm actually pretty positive she has all the evidence she needs, so this case might reveal something else...

Can't wait for the translation so we can all talk about this case together.

So, do you not normally read the manga at dctp then? Anyway, random theory time

1) Sera's seems most likely to be Akai's sister (or some other relation), nearly everyone agrees on this so hopefully it'll be true...

2) Okiya will have to turn up at some point in the next few cases, I'm personally looking forward to this because his reaction will probably be priceless. :mrgreen:

3) Sera will trigger a suspicion arc for Ran to start thinking Conan=Shinichi again (possibly others will also get suspicious).

5) Conan will become very, very paranoid

6) Takagi will accidently reveal he's suspected Conan=Shinichi for a while

7) Goro (Eri's cat) will be revealed as Anokata!

...unless you can't tell I'm not serious about 7, but there is actually some evidence for 6 (file 770 for one, Takagi addresses 'Shinichi' over the phone as 'Shinichi-kun' despite that every other time Takagi and Shinichi have met he's called him 'Kudo-kun' with the last time being the Shirigami-sama case, kinda makes you think why, when they've had no contact Takagi suddenly changed to 'Shinichi-kun. And that's just one example ).

And yes, I am a Takagi fan :mrgreen:

Poll's up, but I'm thinking about posting a final question when the next chapter comes out.

Regarding the case, it took place at a ryokan in Gunma a month ago, but it probably is not the Kappa one as it didn't have onsens as far as we saw. If Yamamura was on that case no wonder Isao has a bad impression of the police investigation. I wonder how he got ahold of the evidence? Stole it? If Sawaguri Miku's death was a murder, then the motive is probably professional jealousy, someone's novel idea being stolen, taking the competition out, or a past murder or suicide we don't know about yet.

Regarding Akai's little sister (Seriously, there's so much evidence in four chapters... make it harder Gosho!), Sera clearly knows Conan is the brains behind Kogoro. She has looked at newspapers, so she has enough info to figure out when Conan first appeared (when Sleeping Kogoro first hit the stands). The question is does she know when Shinichi disappeared? Once she knows that, she will have cleared one of the major hurdles to figuring out Shinichi is Conan.

I am glad as to see more of Sera . I won't vote now until further clues are shown.

The possibility for Sera to be Akai's little sister just keeps increasing (nice found about the reference, Chek xD ). This case is really interesting... I am on standby for the next file. But there may be another possibility... I am curious about Sera's parents ... do they really exist? Or it was just a made up. It's hard to imagine that Akai has parents... *imagines the entire family with bags beneath their eyes *

The fact that Sera doesn't know about "Kudou" is interesting. It seems she only recently know about Kudou Shinichi. I'm sure after that last case her detective senses are making the connection... though not yet.

So she used to be in America but she "rebelled and came back to the place where she was born and raised". It could be that her parents didn't want her to come back to Japan because it's dangerous for her then.

*makes note that her mom has big boobs, but then a heck load of older woman have big boobs in this manga xD*

She definitely wants to meet Conan, it could be that she just wants to know how things are in Japan since he solved so many cases, she sure the hell doesn't believe Kogoro solved them : ).

Seeing Sera currently lives in the hotel, I wonder if Gosho plans to throw her to live in Agasa's house, or maybe Shinichi's. No, Okiya's there... so possibly Agasa's. And they will work from there to track down the B.O. (<- dreaming).

Seriously, I've read a Fan-Fic... not just any Fan-Fic, but one LONG, interesting, bizzare, geniusly made Fan Fic. Where these new two characters were newly made by the author, and they were quite superb (one a similar like Sera, and the other being the girl's boyfriend).

I forgot the girl's name, but she was in Shinichi's school, and she is a detective. She was said to be the female Kudou... and also came from America. She works with the FBI and had quite skills... It's a long story, and quite similar to this xD

If I am not mistaken, her name was 'Rei'. And more shockingly this character knows Jeet Kune Do O:

She was also described to have a short hair that reaches up to her shoulder ! She then becomes Haibara's close friend ...

It's interesting that Sera thinks Conan is the actual brain behind Mouri, but doesn't know about Kudo Shinichi. I guess that rules her off as a BO member. Thinking back to it, she does look a bit like Akai...

That's my assessment as well. I hope this means we are on the fast track to the finale of the Bourbon arc. If we are lucky we will soon get to the point where Sera A) runs into scar Akai and mistakes him for the real deal or B] we find out the BO (Bourbon most likely) is tailing Sera because they're hoping she will find Akai for them. Both possibilities would force Okiya and Conan to make a move to stop Bourbon from making his. I favor "A" as being the most likely to happen, although I imagine it will happen by accident. I also imagine Ran is going to catch wind of Sera's speculation of Conan is Shinichi and is going to start suspecting Conan herself. Then Conan has to deal with suspicious Ran and Bourbon at the same time. Hopefully Okiya takes pity and helps Conan out revealing he knew Shinichi was Conan for a while now.

Well, there are spoiler pics for about 3 pages or so, if you haven't already seen those there are links to on the previous page. Other than that though the standard pattern for the chinese files being released means that it (the entire chinese file, I mean) should be out about half 3 or a bit later GMT time tomorrow (the 4th). I live in the UK and don't know your time zone so I can't say the exact time it'll be where you live, just that it should be roughly sometime on the 4th of April. For the english one I'd say that depending on how fast the translation is (the japanese version is out on the 6th according to dctp) it could be out from the 6th to at the latest the 8th. Hope that's helpful...

Possibly, I can't read the chinese but if it turns out like that then it's going to be annoying. Another thing, though, is that I can't say I'm happy about the english lines (or more likely engrish) about the... green hat? ( what's a hat got to do with it anyway?). Still, I suppose we get some plot advancement and I have to wonder if there'll be later consequences of Conan using the bowtie to 'imitate Kudo Shinichi' in front of the DB. I mean, he actually said his name in front of them so it's not like he can claim the voice belonged to someone else...
