I took two lessons from a man in Japan who teaches Japanese to English students.. The first two were free lessons and then however many more you had to pay for.. But I learned basic sentence structure and my goodness that helped me so much, 'cause I can say a lot of basic sentences by stringing together my random word knowledge with knowing how the sentences are set up. If I had the money I'd go back to that guy and ask for more lessons.. but he was kind of harsh >3>''

Older Japanese teachers are very harsh.

I think its because of our Asian tradition. Teachers in Asian countries last time demanded alot of respect. Think the youngsters like us now have already lost that respect. It's more like the teachers have to respect the students now... -__-

What do you call the level that can't even read Hiragana ?

Yeah, I'm at that level XDDDD

That level is called "Do not know Japanese". :V

As for me...I know how the words sound, I just don't know the characters.

I'm still learning, a noob, back to level 1 again. In past I learn Japanese before, but it was twenty two years ago. Before you all born. :P I have to recall memory while learning Japanese.

Studied Japanese for more than three years, but that doesn't make me a pro. I still consider myself a beginner because I still lack experience (i.e. listening-talking to a native speaker, haven't taken the JLPT exams). I'm trying to get a job where I can hone this skills though. (:
