Nyx hopped onto her bed, bouncing a little bit on the springy mattress. She laid her head on the lavender pillow, dark brown hair spilling onto the purple bed sheets. The girls all shared one room- Brise on the far left near the window, then Aeyra to the right of her, then Jun, and then finally Rin near the door.

"So, what did you girls think of your first day here?" asked Brise curiously, eyes up on the bright crystal chandelier hanging from their light blue ceiling, like stars in the daytime. " Anything scare you? Interest you?"

"Chaos is a bit-" started Nyx, hesitating before continuing. "A bit intimidating."

Brise lifted an eyebrow, and then let out a sigh. "You know, he used to be even more laid back than Krev, and he smiled just as much as Nero, if not more."

"Really?" queried Jun, sitting up with surprise painted on her face, imagining the blond boy wearing the same, innocent happy smile as energetic Nero. "Then why'd he change?"

"There used to be a girl in this group called Laela, and she was the same age as Chaos. They were in love with each other." Brise grimaced, remembering those happy days when Laela had still been with them, their pillow fights, the happiness that just flowed through their group like a river. "But she died on a mission. Chaos went into depression, and when he snapped out of it, he became like what he is now. Krev and I think he's so overly controlling and bossy because he doesn't want to lose anymore of us. We're all the only family we've got."

"That's so sad," murmured Rin, making a mental note to never judge Chaos too harshly for his actions again. "What was Laela like?"

"She was a happy person. She had blue-gray eyes that sparkled like diamonds, and she was my best friend. She loved Chaos with every fiber of her being. He was that same. She was shot in the head," stated Brise simply, her tone brisk and empty.

They were quiet then, not one of the girls wanting to continue what had become a depressing eye-opener to their leader. Who would have guessed such a thing?

Pity Chaos now!!! I think this group we've joined should be kind of like a family almost, doing the bidding of this Organization only because they don't know any better. What did you think of Chaos's back story? It was told simplistically by Brise, but the point was put across.

*sigh*... But as Misaki said, that could be the reason Chaos tried to choke her. Let's say 'Amazing Grace' was Laela's favorite song as well... ... ... Dang, now I want to write what's going on in the boys's room. And I will!

"Pillow fight!" cried Nero, pouncing about the three beds, smacking Chaos and Krev with his fluffy blue pillow. The two boys rolled their eyes lighthearedly, and Chaos even threw his pillow at Nero's head, giving a cheeky grin.

"Nero, do you ever think about why you have a bed?" asked Krev, dodging a blow from Nero's pillow.

"For pillow-fighting, what else?" replied Nero jokingly, continuing his pillow rampage.

"Sleep perhaps?" suggested Krev dryly, wondering exactly when Nero would realize that sleeping was not overrated.

"Just drink more coffee," advised Nero, green eyes sparkling. "You'll forget about sleeping, I promise."

"I don't like coffee," said Chaos, ducking as his pillow flew back at him. "I like soda."

"That has caffeine," said Nero approvingly, nodding his head. "Now all you need to do is drink about ten times more than you usually do."

"Nero, have we ever told you you're crazy?" askedKrev sarcastically to the ever-smiling Nero. "You must have the biggest bladder of all time," he added in as an after-thought. You drink like-three gallons of coffee a day."

"Do not!" protested Nero indignantly, shifting his gaze to the clock, frowning. "It's eleven. I have to leave you guys alone now, don't I? Oh well," he sighed, taking a well-used DS from his bedside. "More time for gaming."

"Good night then, Nero," yawned Chaos. "Good night, Krev."

"Good night you two," chorused Krev.

"Good night!" said Nero, intent on his game.

As Chaos drifted into slumber, he fell into his pool of memories, dreaming the same dream he had had for the past week.

Laela stood in front of him, pale blue eyes looking at him softly, and he felt his heart burst open in both pain and joy, feeling tears at the edge of his eyes. He ran forward only to crash into a barrier, frowning as his hand was stopped a mere inches away from Laela's face.

"Laela?" he asked nervously, sadness settling back where happiness had been seconds before. "Why can't I touch you?"

Laela gave no answer, instead smiling gently at the now crying boy. He looked up at her, wishing he could caress the smooth contours of her face again, breathe in the flowery scent of her hair like he had so many times before. "Why did he have to take you from me?" whispered Chaos, fury lighting his features. "Why do you have to be dead, why?!"

Nero looked over at the shaking, softly sobbing form of his head and frowned, knowing he could do nothing to help. Chaos still wouldn't stand for pity, not even now, months since that day. I wish you would let us help you, Chaos... But you keep in drifting farther and farther away...

Since Moho was kind enough to say he killed Laela, I made a reference to him. It's so fun to write Chaos and Nero... There's more to both of them than meets the eye...

Rin faked a yawn and said, "Well, I'm tired, so I'm going to bed. Night."

She flopped her head on her pillow, making sure her head was turned away from the others. One by one, the girls fell asleep will she was the only one left awake. For a while, she laid on her bed, in deep thought about what she had just learnt. So Chaos used to be nice.... I see.... I wonder why Laela was killed. Perhaps it was an accident? Or maybe she messed up? I want to know.... She sighed. Well, maybe I'll ask around or something. It would hurt these guys too much if I asked them...

She let out a silent yawn as her eyelids grew heavier and heavier. Soon, they drifted shut stayed that way.

Where am I?

Rin was in a room. A cold, dark room. She didn't like it, not one bit. In the room, there was nothing. Just her. She then heard a tune, at first so soft, she could barely hear it, but soon grew louder and louder, echo in the depressing room. It was Amazing Grace. A man entered the room, along with several girls and a few guys. They seemed surprised at first, but soon began to race towards her. But gunshots rang out, and one by one, they fell slowly, a pool of blood flowing out of them. She looked towards where the bullets had come from and saw a figure. A shadowy figure that scared her....

She jolted from her bed, panting heavily. She clutched her shirt tightly as her heart pounded, scared out of her mind. Brise lazily rolled herself to face her. "You ok," she asked.

She stared at her for a second before taking a deep breath and smiling, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bad dream, nothing to worry about."

She shrugged it off and soon was back to sleep. She sat there for a few more minutes, trying to calm her beating heart. Knowing she wouldn't be getting anymore sleep, she reached over to her night stand fore her glasses, a piece of paper and a pencil. She then walked over the the small table and chair they had in the room that resided by the window, sat down, and drew.

Nyx woke up with the sunlight in her face, vaguely remembering Brise's comment about having one of the only rooms above ground. She yawned, stretching as she sat up, noticing Rin scribbling away with a pencil at the table. She quietly tip-toed over, not wanting to wake the still-sleeping Brise and Jun.

"Whatcha drawing?" asked Nyx curiously, peering over Rin's shoulder. "Is that a person?"

"I had a bad dream last night," explained Rin, shivering as she remembered it. " This figure was in it." The drawing was a vague sketch of a shadowy silhouette, one that chilled Nyx for reasons unknown to her.

"It's kind of creepy," said Nyx, sitting down next to Rin. "I'm hungry, do you remember where the cafeteria is? We could write a note to Brise and Jun saying we went."

"Yeah, I remember. The route's a bit complicated, but we'll manage." Rin started walking towards the door, Nyx trailing behind her.

When they exited the ro, they noticed Nero and a bleary-eyed Chaos exiting the room next to their's. Nero looked energetic (as usual) and the only word that could be used to describe Chaos was disheveled. To Nyx, it looked more than just exhaustion, their was sorrow in blue eyes, the white of them red from crying, Chaos himself as a whole looking ready to just topple over. "Good morning!" greeted Nero, dragging Chaos out of the room, the latter trying to cling to the door knob. "Did you sleep well?"

"Funny to hear you acknowledging sleep," grumbled Chaos, stumbling after Nero. "You stayed up the whole night again, didn't you?"

"So what? Besides, I'm thirsty and I need my precious coffee!" crowed Nero, charging down the hall with Chaos staggering behind them, Nyx and Rin following them. "And you looked ready to get out of bed. You weren't sleeping well."

"Bad dream," mumbled Chaos, avoiding the piercing haze of Nero. "It was nothing, all I want is more rest."

"You were crying, Chaos," whispered Nero so softly that Nyx could hardly hear him. "That's the fourth night in a row. You're dreaming about Laela, aren't you?"

"Shut up," growled Chaos, looking furious with the mention of her name. "I thought I said not to talk about her. She's dead and she'll never come back!"

Nero threw a worried glance back at the two, but when he met their understanding gazes, he sighed. "Brise told you two, didn't she?" It wasn't said as much as a question as it was as a fact. "Well, better to get it out of the way I suppose. It'll make things easier. Chaos, talking about her will help, I promise! And she's not gone, she'll never be gone as long as you still love her. I know you miss her, and we all do. I'm not saying you need to move on, but you have to accept it."

"Of course I still love her," said Chaos brokenly. "Of course I do! She was and is everything to me! You don't understand how much it hurts Nero, how much it hurts to hear her name. So please, just shut up. Just shut up."

They walked to the cafeteria in silence after that, awkward tension pressuring them from all sides. Once sitting at the breakfast table, Nero ordered a coffee and pastries, the girls chose some of this and that, but Chaos's plate remained empty. Nobody said anything at all, afraid of concurring the boy's violent wrath. One thought raged through Chaos's mind, overwhelming him and filling him with vengeance and anger. Laela, I'll definitely avenge you... I promise I'll kill him...

Chaos doesn't even need to see Moho to want to kill him... ... As you can see, his pain is still raw and he can't stand Laela being mentioned, or Nero's attempts to help him. Poor Chaos...

She shouted. And Misaki... She was humming Amazing Grace all this time.
