But it's also possible that they are not from the organization. Or then they are holding a grudge against Nero. Idk...

Yeah... I realized after I shook off my tiredness... (I can't think coherently early in the morning. :P)

What is written down is the LAW. So if you made his memory come back~ His memory is back :P

-----------------------

Listening to all the weird conversation in Indonesian or Filipino... whatever the language was... made her head spin. All that she could understand was "Detective Conan World" and "Conan".

After a while of conversation, she saw BK looking disappointed. "Guess the conversation didn't work out after all." KKLt thought.

"Any luck?" Pyre asked.

"No..." BK answered with a tone of disappointment.

"It's okay. Let him regain it slowly. But in the meantime, BK, take back the wheel. I need some concentration." Pyre slowed down the vehicle and she and BK switched places.

"Right. Where to?" BK asked.

"Second base." Pyre replied. "Follow the GPS." Pyre took out a device and clipped it onto the van. A blue dot was flashing on the screen. "We have to get here." Pyre pointed to the blue dot.

"Right." BK started the engine. She seemed a little unfamiliar with driving a van, but slowly, she got the hang of it.

"Right." KKLT continued the conversation with Monsi.

Monsi looked towards KKLT with a puzzled look.

"Since you are clueless now, I shall inform you about the situation that we have on hand." KKLT stopped, sighed and continued.

"Your name is Monsi, and you volunteered to help us with the situation. You have a bullet proof and bomb proof bus which aided us tremendously in the fight with the evil organisation."

"Evil organization?" Monsi asked.

"Yes. Everything started when one of us got kidnapped. Slowly, everyone got involved and nearly died at some point of time throughout the battle with the organization." KKLT explained.

"Okay." KKLT continued. "So, whether you like it or not, you cannot back out now, so I have to tell you all that you need to know to get out alive."

"...Okay." Monsi nodded.

"Right. So, what happened is... Mark... Someone who was formerly with the organization, but recently started to help us had died... and left some clues for us to figure out what was going on and how to defeat the organization. So, we are currently investigating Mark's death which might lead to discovering the truth behind the organization."

KKLT looked at Monsi for a few seconds before continuing, "And of course the organization wouldn't want us to find out about that, so they might be looking for us and trying to kill us off... Thus we need to be very careful and discrete in our movements."

"What made you lose your memories was a recent incident where we had an encounter with Morpheus... I don't really know who... But its really strange because he had some power which can paralyze with just a stare. I suppose the only way to get you off the spell was to knock you unconscious... and so, the impact of that could have knocked away your memories."

"A man, who has... powers?" Monsi looked a little disbelieving.

"Seems like it..." KKLT shrugged. "But what's important now, is to continue with the investigation. We know that they are trying to stop us from investigating, so there must be something to it. And of course... you're going to have to help us with it."

"And... how do I do that?" Monsi asked.

"Even if you cannot remember things... I believe you'll still retain your skills." KKLT thought for a while.

"My... skills?" asked Monsi curiously.

"Yes... Your skill, is the manipulation of machinery. Like this van for instance." KKLT looked at Monsi who still looked a little confused. "And you're good at reading maps too."

"I can drive?" Monsi asked.

"You might be able to." KKLT nodded. "...Wanna try?"

"Yea... Try!" BK nodded from the front of the van.

"It's a good idea..." Pyre seem to have heard the conversation. "We can try after we reach the base. Not now though, since we're reaching soon."

"Then its settled." KKLT nodded. "Any other questions you have for me, Monsi?"

-----------------------------

Long conversation... >__< *sigh*

Am actually adding on after so long! :o

--------

Monsi shook his head. Legend muttered, "I see..." before becoming quiet.

All that was heard was the sound of the engine as no words were spoken. Misaki leaned her head on the window and blankly looked out the window as the scenery changed rapidly before her. Lovely... she thought, Monsi lost his memory... I hope he regains it soon...

The thought of memory loss reminded her of her week in the Org. Misaki quickly pushed the thought out of her head. Now is not the time... Let's see... How could we bring back Monsi's memory?

As she began to scheme ways to help Monsi retrieve his memories, a sputtering sound came from the engine before the car slowed to a stop. "Crap," BK said, "The car broke down!"

------

I love throwing wrenches in. :P

XD <3333

---------------

Just as KKLT was thinking of what to do next, an unexpected situation popped up.

"Crap." BK said, "The car broke down!"

"Great..." KKLT muttered. "Now we have another problem to deal with."

"Not my fault..." BK sulked. "I cant help it..."

"No... not blaming you BK..." KKLT sighed. "Just frustrated."

Monsi losing his memory, and Morpheus was already too much to handle. Now the van broke down just when the base is around the corner. Totally not good. This would easily lead to giving away their base location if anyone discovers them now.

"We have to fix this thing fast." KKLT suggested. "Anyone knows how to fix this thing?"

"I'll take a look at it. No guarantees though..." BK got out from the van and inspected the engines. Pyre got out of the van with BK as well to see if they could fix it together.

"I'll help as well..." Monsi volunteered. "I may not be able to fix it, but I can help with all the manual work." and Monsi plopped out of the van.

"So what's the problem?" Pyre asked BK.

"Not sure... I've never fixed a van before..." BK replied with an obvious frown on her face.

Just as everyone was worried over what they should do, Monsi suddenly squatted down and looked at the engines with a look of concentration. He fumbled with the water tank and the wires for a while and suddenly he opened the driver's door and looked at the meters. He then went back to the engines portion and looked at it again before looking up at the girls and said, "I think the engine just overheated... We might have to replace the water in the tank."

"Okay Chaos, wake up, it's time to head to the airport!" announced Nero cheerfully, throwing the blankets off of the bed, tossing it into the air. "We're heading back to New York City."

"Let me sleep longer," mumbled Chaos, curling into a ball to retain some body heat. "Ten minutes."

"I've already let you sleep an extra fifteen," whined Nero, reaching over to poke his friend, who stifled a surprised squeal. "Everyone's ready, 'cept you. You can sleep on the way there."

"Nero... Did everyone already leave? Or are they outside, waiting?" asked Chaos curiously, hearing the shaky undertone of Nero's voice.

"They're waiting in the taxi," answered Nero carefully, maintaining a smile. "Waiting for you."

"Nero, tell me what's been up with you the past few days. You're not acting normal, and don't say it's nothing. You can't lie to me. "

"But it is n-"

"Don't, Nero. Don't hold it all in. I can see it behind your eyes. If you won't tell me willingly, I'll make you."

"Promise you won't run. That was the promise," whispered Nero, looking away from his friend. "They said they wouldn't kill you that way."

"They." Chaos's eyes widened in fear as he realized who 'they' was. "They threatened you, didn't they? And you're giving us back to them?!"

"I thought you'd prefer life to death. And... That way I'll at least be able to see you again once I gain more power in the Organization."

"We can make it! We can still run!"

"Chaos," murmured Nero, sounding as if he were in pain. "If that option were possible, I'd have taken it. I'd have been on the run for the rest of my life. But they knew where we were, exactly where, and I don't want to lose any of you. You guys are the greatest thing that ever happened to me. And Chaos, you were my very first friend. I'm going to miss you. Make sure you keep yourself alive."

"I'll try my best," replied Chaos quietly, looking down, letting his blond locks fall into his face. "You can't die either, okay?"

"It's a promise." They shook hands, both feeling as if they were in the verge of crying, but no tears would come. "A promise to live."

Does this mean that... Guaah! Rod and I have left NJ for nothing! Grääh!

If no one wants to call your cellphone, then make someone to do it, but not me since I don't remember anything. :P

As for advancing the timeline...maybe a little bit later... :)

"To the airport," said Nero quietly, slipping into the van. "Try and get there quick, our flight is soon."

"Sure kid," answered the driver, unlocking the door for the others. "You guys all ready to? Luggage in the back and everything?"

"Yes, we're good," Chaos replied, closing the door quietly. "We're all prepared."

Aeyra sat uneasily- there was an ominous atmosphere settling into the car, something she just couldn't shake off. It was as if a storm was building, but she couldn't see or hear it, only feel the cool rush of a foreboding wind against her skin, watch the birds flee, flying towards sheltering trees, listen as the earth grew silent. She didn't know what the storm would bring. But she thought for sure Chaos and Nero did.

She caught that intense gaze they had shared for the smallest of seconds, like a farewell, an apology, an acknowledgement of forgiveness, a promise. Verdant green clashing with mystic blue, exchanging countless emotions and words in the smallest of moments. Emotions and words she could never hope to understand.

What was so important about this one trip to the airport? They had already gone through this meticulous routine several times in the past few weeks, each as uneventful as the last. Was something about to happen? Was the storm about to break? What awaited them?

"I'm going to take a shortcut- there's traffic on the main road," explained the driver, turning onto a little-used side route, a roughly paved street that led into dark shadows and gave a creepy feeling that it was devoid of life.

Then, a few minutes in, they stopped, the car pausing in a dead end. Confused, Aeyra looked around, and wondered if the driver had made a mistake. He was smiling, and put on a gas mask.

Pressing a button, the vehicle immediately started to fill with a sweet-smelling gas, and Aeyra struggled to stay awake. Nero looked alarmed, slightly swaying as he struggled to unbuckle his seatbelt. Chaos's eyelids were drooping, though it was obvious he was trying his hardest to keep them from closing. The driver took out a phone, and started typing a message couldn't see. The storm had broke- and she lost consciousness, slipping quickly out of reality.

*****

I intentionally left it kind of sketchy so Moho can do what he wants with his plans. But he's not allowed to kill Nero, that's the only rule. :P I'm not against anything else.

He pulled up on his motorcycle, only to see the whole car enveloped in a pinkish gas.

"Damn it. So it didn't work."

He shrugged off the oddly shaped blue bag he had slung over his shoulder till now. From it, he provided a large, bulky, rocket launcher.

"Well, I never wanted to resort to Plan B, but here goes nothing."

The sound that came out from the launcher was a sweet, swooshing release that greatly contrasted the huge explosion that blew the car upside down, doors open. Once the teen confirmed there was no one around (he made sure the two men from the excavation crew were sent elsewhere forever), he threw a red flare near the car. Then he waited. And waited.

Eventually, a monstrous helicopter came from the sky. Hovering just shy of the car, two teens dropped out.

One of them immediately went to the car, and pulled out all the passengers of the car. Upon noticing the driver, and only the driver was dead, he kicked the driver's body aside. The teen also kicked Nero's unconscious body, then wrapped the remaining passengers in white rags, then began to load them into the helicopter.

The other teen walked over to the teen with the motorcycle.

"Resorted to the alternate plan, eh?"

"Yup. It's flashy," was the response.

"Anyways, what do we do with," he gestures over to the teens being loaded into the helicopter, "them?"

"Nero...we kill once we get to base. The others we interrogate, then we wipe their memory of all that's happened. They'll be back to their ordinary, happy, lives."

"You make it sound like a happy ending."

"It is a happy ending. Nero dies, and we get more people out of the conflict. Heck, I can't decide which I like better."

Note: The wording of the story may be a tad confusing. Nero IS loaded into the helicopter with the others.

Okay. ... My turn. :P

*********

Nero's heart was pounding. He was still awake- honestly, he had kept a special air purifier in his mouth, which filtered out the sleeping gas, leaving him with nothing but good clean oxygen. After all, he'd been warned beforehand of the sleeping gas, and had thought to keep his handy piece of equipment with him. What he hadn't expected was that the driver wasn't from the Organization after all.

He knew he couldn't open his eyes or show any sign of consciousness. His chance would come when he was loaded onto the helicopter, and they were occupied with steering the thing. He had a secret communicator in his pocket, and loath as he was to the idea, it would contact the organization and get them out of this mess. But was it really the best idea?

What that teen said was right. With himself out of the equation, and the horrible memories washed away, everyone else had chances at normal, happy lives, lives free of gunfire and constant fear, lives where they could live in peace and just enjoy themselves, lives that Nero had tried to grant them for the past few days. Shouldn't he let them have that gift of joy eternally, sacrifice himself for his friends?

"You guys are the greatest thing that ever happened to me." Those were his words to Chaos. He hadn't been lying. He'd only been half-human before that, only half-aware of all the sins he committed daily, looking down at his evil deeds with a trace of a smile. When he was sent to their group to humble himself and to test his charisma and deception skills, he didn't think his mask would become his reality, that his deception would become the truth. His friends had changed his life. Shouldn't he change theirs?

"It's a promise... A promise to live." Those were his last words with Chaos, the only thing he could even hope to guarantee. To live, to make it to the day where they could be reunited, to survive, no matter long it would take. Wasn't that his obligation too? To survive? To live on, for the sake of his mutual oath with Chaos?

Did it matter when Chaos would lose his memory in due course anyways? Forget him? Forget everything? Forget... Laela...? Suddenly, Nero's mind snapped into focus, remembering his friend's sorrow, remembering how many times he'd wanted to take away that pain, remembering wishing it had all never happened. He felt as if he'd matured twofold in the span of seconds.

How could he be so naïve? If he let these people steal away his friend's memories, steal away their pasts, everything that made them who they were, that defined them, we're their very essence? The source of their willpower, determination, courage, desires, dreams? How did he even dare think of himself as their friends when he had even considered letting all of that being taken from them?

He couldn't let it happen, and he knew how he would escape, and take his friends with him. The one moment he was sure they weren't paying attention, sure they wouldn't see him slipping out of his bonds, calling upon the Organization to free them, he'd make his move. The Organization would separate them, but they'd still have their memories, and they'd be alive. That was what mattered. Not fake happiness, close to guaranteed it may be, but even just a chance genuine happiness, something that had to be earned, something that wasn't acquired easily.

A cool swish of wind brushed his skin as the helicopter took off, and he risked opening his eyes a mere slit. They was one pair of feet next to him. And there had only been four voices, so that signified at most, there were two other people in the back with them. Luckily for Nero, he could be patient. He would wait as long as it took, and act the moment he could, to free himself and his friends. He would not let their most important things be stolen.

"Oh, you're still awake? Pesky little one."

And with a sharp kick, Nero falls unconcious.

The teen pulls out a syringe with a mysterious purple liquid. Aimlessly twirling it within his fingers, he tears the restraining rags to expose Nero's neck.

"Yes...you've killed too many people. You've sinned countless times. Without remorse, you attempt to escape the iron hammer that will seal your fate, and the black obsidian gates that will forever confine you within the deepest depths of Hell itself. Now...fall under melancholy sleep...forever!"

With that, the syringe plunges into Nero's neck, and within seconds his body went cold.

The teen stood over the cold corpse for a few moments. "Don't worry," a frown began to etch onto his face, "we'll take good care of the rest. Better than you could ever do."

He motioned to the pilot to set the helicopter to hover. Upon doing so, he hurls the door open, then unceremoniously throws Nero off, several feet to his inevitable death, as if Nero was nothing but a bag of worthless rock, or a pile of garbage that needed to be thrown away.

I thought I said the only thing you weren't allowed to do was kill my precious Nero... ... I'm saving him. I'm just as determined to keep him alive as you are to kill him.

"Hey, Ari, do you see that too?" asked the tan-haired teen. "That thing falling out of the helicopter?"

"Yeah, I see it, Kei," answered the girl, quickly grabbing a bedsheet. "Grab the other end. It could be something important. It dropped from the enemy helicopter after all. Quickly, Kei!"

"Got it!" The boy grabbed the blanket and held it tight just in time catch the falling bundle, stopping its drop mere feet away from the ground.

The girl quickly unzipped the white bag, gasping as she revealed its contents. "Nero!" She lifted him out of the bag and checked for a pulse, finding one, slow and irregular, but still pumping. "Don't worry, big sister Ari is here, Nero," she cooed to his unconscious form. "Kei, start driving! I think our Nero has some sort of drug on him or something!"

"Got it!" The boy got into the car, and Ari followed suit, holding Nero in her arms, the boy looking small against her tall frame. "God, why do you think they dropped him out of a helicopter?"

"How am I supposed to know? Drive to the base faster, we don't know what they put on our little Nero. If something happens to him, I'm blaming you!" snapped Ari, gray eyes flashing. "It's okay, Nero, everything is going to be all right."

"One would think you'd stop babying him by this point. It's been like- three years since you've last seen him, and he's fifteen. He doesn't need to be babied."

"Do I hear jealousy, Kei? Just because my little brother is a few years older doesn't mean he isn't my little brother anymore!"

"He's not even your little brother. You just like to call him that!"

"He might as well be. I'm the one he adores you know. And he called me Big Sister Ari when he was six."

"Mmph," mumbled Nero, moving slightly, managing to open his eyes the teensiest bit. The drug had been powerful, but Nero had been raised to resist such things.

"Nero! You're awake!" Ari cheered, hugging him tightly. "You made me so worried!"

"Ari?" whispered Nero, feeling as if he'd been hit by a truck. "What are you doing here? And why were you do loud? Are you and Kei fighting again?"

"When aren't we fighting?" muttered the boy from the front seat. "I swear, she's at my neck 24/7."

"Nero, sweetie," started the older teenage girl, "we were here to pick you up from that taxi, but we arrived just in time to see that helicopter. So we followed it, and you came falling out of it?"

"I... did...?" Nero was slowly fading back into unconsciousness, his older 'sister's' face swirling out of focus.

"It's okay, Nero, sleep if you want," whispered Ari, laying her fingers over his eyelids and closing them. "When you wake up, you'll be okay."

********

I thought of Ari and Kei a while ago. I just never bothered to introduce them. :P They're the group Nero was originally in, the prodigy group. They're meant to be his subordinates, and they're pretty loyal to him. (Ari loves to coddle him. She's like, nineteen, and treats him like a beloved little brother. :P) No killing my Nero, Moho! That is not allowed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
