Aeyra 260 Report post Posted November 28, 2011 Aeyra felt dizzy, and a bit sick. From what she'd managed to hear, apparently, she'd been drugged, kidnapped with a helicopter, barely saved from the wreckage of the crashed copter, and then kidnapped once more. And now... Nobody knew where they were, because they'd all been asleep when placed in this jail-like cell. Her skin was chafed against the ropes that bound her wrists, rubbed raw in her attempts to wriggle out of her tight bindings. It didn't have much effect other than for her to wish she hasn't done so. Her wrists stung like hell now. In the next cell, she could hear Chaos and Nero talking, her only source of information. She heard strange names, Ari and Kei, and wondered who they could possibly be. The kidnappers? The wall made it slightly hard to comprehend exact phrases. Would there be a rescue? Or was this the last stage before a quiet execution? Aeyra could only wait. ******* Moho... "Will come to pick you up and ship you off to who knows where, and come to lock the rest of us up in detention cells until we learn to be good little children. If they kept their word to you." "They'll completely and utterly lose my trust and loyalty if they do that. They should know. And I think they'll probably send Ari and Kei. They won't ship you guys off if I tell Ari not to do it. She spoils me to death," said Nero, sighing, wishing Ari was there with his coffee, just the way he liked it. And with a couple of delectable candies she had stolen from top-class stores around the world. And a few trinkets. That was just how Ari worked. "Nero!" "Speak of the devil," murmured Nero happily, hearing Ari's voice. "And she shall appear." "Nero!" The doors to the cell opened, revealing a crying Ari and a stricken Kei, who looked as if they had made one of the most painful decisions in their life. "Thank god you're safe. They didn't hurt you, did they? Let me get these ropes off of you, they must be bothersome..." Ari set to work on the knots, looking as if she was keeping a secret. "What did you give for Nero?" asked Chaos, watching the family-like scene in front of him with interested blue eyes. "What was the ransom?" ************** Moho, you figure out what Rex wanted. Aeyra 260 Report post Posted December 25, 2011 *********** Aeyra silently cheered as she managed to cut through her bindings. Turned out the room had sharp objects after all. She had missed a few times, explaining her cut hands and such, but at least she had freedom of movement now. With the cell phone she had concealed in a secret pocket intricately sown into her jacket (Nero's idea), she tracked her exact coordinates and sent them to the only people she knew she could trust with them. Not the police. According to Nero, they were easy to bribe and it was impossible to read which side they were on. She sent the coordinates to her friends, the ones she had left behind for a reason she had long forgotten, hoping they still cared enough to come. Hoping that they wouldn't be caught and killed in the process. That being said, she realized the door was opening. She quickly hid the phone and laid down on the ground, scrambling to get the ropes around her wrists but failing. Surprisingly, a friendly face poked through, not some giant man with a giant machine gun. "Hey, Aeyra," said Chaos, leaning against the door post. "Looks like you got out of your bindings. Lucky you. You and Nero both got tied up with ropes. I was chained to the wall with steel!" Despite herself, Aeyra laughed at Chaos's dramatization, which in itself was half-comical and half-serious, forgetting about her fears for a few seconds. "That must have been terrible," she teased, realizing something. "Wait a second, how did you get out? And where's Nero?" "I used my mystical fiery superpowers to destroy the manacles and accidentally killed Nero in the process." Aeura rolled her eyes. "Fine, Nero's 'family' came to pick us up." "Nero has family?" she asked, surprised. "But I thought..." "His Organization family. They're like his older brother and sister. Of course, they absolutely faun over him. Wish I had siblings like that," he sighed, wondering if he had had siblings before he had come into the Organization. He sure as hell didn't remember any. "Kei and Ari. Interesting people." "Aren't we all?" replied Aeyra, smiling. "Where are Krev and Brise?" "I thought they'd be in the same room as you... But since they aren't, let's start looking. We currently have a peace treaty with Rex that lets us walk around in here. Come on." Driving far too fast but he didn't care about it. He had to find the traitors as fast as possible and kill them. And... He glanced at the girl behind him. She was sleeping, again. And he wasn't sure how long time that girl's memories would be like they were now. He had lied to her about the happenings during the past year. -- "Uh, what exactly has happenend? I don't really get this..." The girl mumbled, holding her head. Rod smiled. "Well, after Mark had shot you, you probably lost your consciousness. You were bleeding a lot and Iram managed to save you on the last minute. But because everyone in your team thought you were dead it was better for them to let they think it is true. And you were the spy from the FBI we couldn't even let the boss(es) know you were alive." "And? How did I meet those teens?" "We kept you in a coma but somehow you managed to escape. Even I don't know how. You can figure it out yourself." The girl frowned. "I... don't know. It seems I had an amnesia or something like that and created another identity and met accidentaly those kids... And when we broke in the HQ..." "Iram gave you something that made you remember things you had forgotten. And some hours ago I gave you that same madicine but much bigger portion." Rod grinned to the girl and made her flash a faint smile. -- Rod checked the GPS. He saw two spots a bit outside of the New Jersey, two other spots a bit away from them, one spot(he zoomed off) in New York and one spot moving towards the group of four trackers. Rod smiled. "Tell me now!" "Nero- we-" Ari cried, holding her little brother tight against her chest, sobbing as she tried to continue, her answer caught in her throat with her pain and tears. "We had to," she choked out. "I told him no, but Kei- he-" "Kei, what did you do?" Suddenly, Nero didn't look like a slightly smaller than average sixteen year old anymore. He voice was cold, like an icy wing, his blue eyes holding a fierce blizzard that froze the unfortunate onlooker where they stood, his snarl, challenging and vicious, was enough to make him look older, dangerous, a feral animal ready to attack at whim. "WHAT DID YOU GIVE FOR ME?!" The older boy simply closed his eyes, leaning against the door frame, remaining quiet, Ari's sobs the only sound in the room, but the silent crackling of tension filled Nero's ears like thunder before a storm. And Kei broke it with three words. "Me for you," said Kei so quietly Nero almost missed the words, but they sounded in his mind like fireworks, gunshots, sending him reeling, deaf, even though this had been the answer he'd been expecting. There were just some things you couldn't prepare for. The sacrifice of life being one them. "They're going to kill you!" yelled Nero in an accusing tone, batting Ari off with a rough shrug of his shoulders, freeing himself from her immobilizing grip, charging up to Kei and pinning his brother to the wall with his hands, trapping him in a cage of blond. "How could you do such a thing? Why? Why, Kei?! Tell me!" "My life is defined by you," answered Kei simply, meeting Nero's powerful azure gaze without flinching, eyes serene and accepting of his fate. "My entire existence, mine and Ari's, serves to protect you from harm and to serve at your side. And they didn't say they'd kill me." "But I'm guessing it's inferred!" said Nero angrily, feeling an intense urge to punch some sense into Kei. "And if you give yourself up, you won't be able to protect me anymore. And I won't have a big brother anymore. At least when I left last time, we could talk over the Internet sometimes, and I knew I ws going to see you again." Nero's voice quavered as he too started to cry, albeit quietly, trying to hold back the tears as best as he could. "But if you leave now, I might not be able to see you again, ever! You're family to me, Kei, family! You, Ari, and I are a family! We need each other! You can't just break that, Kei, you can't!" "I'd be breaking it if I let you stay here as well," he answered gently, pulling Nero into his arms and letting his little brother cry into him. "And you don't know if it'll be good-bye or not. For all we know, I could come out of this alive, don't you think? There's always hope. When there's a will, there's a way." "Let's escape now," whispered Nero, already formulating a plan. "Before they can get either of us. As soon as Chaos gets back with the others, let's run for it." "We're in enemy territory, Nero," Kei reminded him, his voice admonishing. "We'd all be dead by the time we make it to the perimeter. Think straight. Don't let your emotions clog up your thinking process." Nero shook his head, and from the hallway, footsteps could be heard. Nero could make out Chaos's, Krev's, Brise's, and another less familiar pair of steps that had to be Aeyra. Nero looked away from the door and back to Kei, blue eyes burning up with relentless determination. "There's always hope," he quoted fiercely, drawing an eyebrow raise from Kei. "When there's a will, there's a way." With Nero's massive amount of willpower, there had to be at least ten ways. *********************** Moho, you are forbidden to kill any one of the characters mentioned in this installment! (just a reminder. No killing Kei!) Let us get away for once. Start another chase and mess up all my plans another time. :V To everyone else: So, how was it?
