DCUniverseAficionado 252 Report post Posted August 3, 2020 Apologies for the double post. More spoiler pics have come out: https://imgur.com/a/cLhYTdD Here are the translations: Spoiler Page 2 Yusaku: The case involving serial locked room murders that's happened for the last month... Yusaku: Well, each victim has no connection in terms of age or job and the murder methods vary in each case... And so I was told that it's unclear whether they were all killed by the same culprit or not... Page 4 Yusaku: An emergency live broadcast next Saturday at 8PM, in Tōto TV! Yusaku: Titled "Complete explanation of the serial locked room murder cases"! I will solve the mystery! Yusaku: But until I saw the crime scenes photos today at the MPD... Yusaku: I only intended to make a deduction based on the available information... Reporter: I-I belong to another station, but I'm looking forward to it... Yusaku: If you'll excuse me! Reporter: Ah! Reporter: Allow me one last question! Reporter: You strangely solved a false accusation against Kid, too... Reporter: Please send him a message! Yusaku: Let's see... Yusaku: If you consider you owe me one, please consider buying one of my novels... Page 6 Conan: You want to disguise yourself as Dad... and make me use the voice changer?! Yukiko: Ssshhhhhh!!! Yukiko: Truth is, Yu-chan was supposed to go to the MPD HQ at noon to reveal the truth of the case, but he fell asleep before that... Conan: I see.. Conan: You still haven’t heard the truth of the case yet... Conan: So you want me to go home with you, show me the case’s materials, and solve it to prepare for the television special... Yukiko: As excepted of my son! Yukiko: You’re spot on! Conan: Geez.... got it! Conan: So when will the TV crew come? Yukiko: 6 pm.. Conan: 4 hours left, then? And here is a summary of the chapter, courtesy of Sidier#8557: Spoiler File 1,058 Deduction Show on TV!? Yusaku comes out of the MPD building, and the media accosts him. He mentions that Nakamori came up to him and asked him to look into a recent crime, saying he felt something was off with it. A museum owner, arrested under suspicion of fraud that morning for selling jewels to deal with hard times for his business, had tried to make it look like Kid had stolen from him in order to get insurance money. Yusaku also reveals that he came to the MPD at Megure's request to solve a series of locked room murders that happened over the span of a month. All 3 victims were killed in different ways, and were all of different ages and jobs, so the MPD has had a hard time finding who's responsible. Having now seen photos of the crime scenes, Yusaku has figured out the trick behind the locked rooms, but he still hasn't figured out the culprit. As he leaves, he reveals that he's scheduled for a TV appearance to reveal the truth. A shadowman figure grins while watching this on their phone. 3 days later, on the day Yusaku is meant to film for the program, he's been lying in bed after eating at an Italian restaurant—he was even supposed to go to the MPD today to tell Megure about the truth of the case, so now no one else knows what the truth of the case . Since the producer of the program is the same producer who played a key role in the first-ever TV adaption of Yusaku's work, it'll be hard to turn him down, so Yukiko suggests Conan solve the case and then he can use the voice changer to relay his deduction through her while she disguises as Yusaku. A shadowman figure grins while eavesdropping on them. Akai is out on FBI business as Conan looks at the case files. He figures out the trick to the locked room, that the 3 murders were committed by the same killer, and is thus able to get a rough idea of who the culprit is. He goes to get Yukiko, but she now has the same food poisoning as Yusaku. The TV staff have come and Conan's voice changer hasn't finished charging, so he goes to tell them to leave... but a 3rd Yusaku appears at the door. Otaku3670 3 Report post Posted August 4, 2020 A serial killer case, sounds interesting...... BTW on a separate issue.... There possibly no former Rum...... Gosho said Rum is a single person. Gosho also said ``One among the trio is indeed Rum.`` Former Rum isn't a Rum anymore.........
nakamura 1 Report post Posted August 5, 2020 I too think there is only one Rum. The spoiler pics also showed three Yusakus (the real one, Yukiko in disguise and a mysterious one). I think the 3rd one is Akai or Amuro in disguise.
nakamura 1 Report post Posted August 9, 2020 Turns out I'm wrong. The 3rd Yusaku is probably just Kaitou Kid thanking Yusaku for saving him in a case.
MeiTanteixX 184 Report post Posted August 10, 2020 Locked room murder trick deduction (File 1058) Basically, the idea could be to utilize weight in order to turn the thumbturn lock from a 45 degrees position to a complete 90 degrees (horizontal) position. By adding enough weight for it to start turning clockwise slowly, you might have enough time to close the door before it fully turns horizontal and locks up. In the first case and second case, there were bags involved with weights on them (big lotion bottle in Atsumi's and a lot of trash in Taiji's). To camouflage the bags on the floor, the culprit messed up the bathroom and apartment. Spoiler Spoiler In the third case however, there was no bag, however, we were made aware of that Koretsuga had a lot of kitchen utensils hanging up the wall, possibly to make note of that they all have holes in them. This could be were a string could fit in, where it replaces the bag's effect of combining all their weight around the thumbturn lock. The culprit might have tied the string as a lasso in order to pull the knot out from below the door after locking the door in order to untie it and remove the string. When the police later opened the door, the utensils could have been pushed to the side (like in Atsumi's case), making their awkward placing from the string pull disappear. Spoiler
Otaku3670 3 Report post Posted August 10, 2020 The problem is the retrieval of the string won't be possible. Also in the third case the measure will ensure that all the accessories will have pointing their handles/holes(though some don't have it) towards the door. So they would be swept towards one side. Not a solution unless those are taken care of. Another problem is this, the tension ends of the knob would be very close, there won't be any force difference to generate the torque unless one applies force by using a string from outside. Which again will be an issue during the retrieval.
Aries Bless 18 Report post Posted August 10, 2020 There seems to be a string in the hole of the frying pan. In fact the frying pan stands out a bit among the objects on the floor.

K: Ah, that… C: Aunt Yukiko wasn’t feeling well, so she’s resting. Yume: I see… Yume: Then we'll wait for the dress rehearsal time and then go greet her. K: All right. Page 11 C: Now, let’s get back to the important point… C: How did you know that my Dad fell ill? K: In order to pay back his favor, I was tailing you guys for a bit… K: And thus overheard your conversation at the pharmacy entrance. K: But who’d have thought both husband and and wife would be out of the game like this… C: Seriously. It’s most likely food poisoning, they’re still laid up in the bedroom. nakamura 1 Report post Posted August 12, 2020 It seems that the victims are all linked together since their names can be a pun for a video game. The four of them (including that announcer Yumekawa were likely gaming friends, which is what was said by someone on Mangadex. I think the motive of the culprit is because the three others wanted to stop playing and games and have a steady job (Kiryu was a freeter, Morita probably wasn't making much by selling clothing and Kanzawa had just started trying out baking) which probably angered the culprit, most likely Yumekawa who wanted the four of them to continue playing together or a motive that's similar. DCUniverseAficionado 252 Report post Posted August 21, 2020 1,060 spoiler pics now out: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/6896887252 Spoiler Specifically, in the three spoiler pics we've got, we have two of them showing Vermouth (her clothes imply she was the one watching Shinichi/Conan and Yukiko in 1,058, not Kid) striding up to Gin and Vodka in the Porsche, and Gin says, "You’re late, aren’t you..." And in the other, we see both Shūichi with an earpiece and a smiling Yusaku looking at a dumbfounded Shinichi/Conan. And courtesy of Fujiwara, here's are some Chinese spoiler summaries: "FBI is stationed in the Kudou house, Conan is dumbfounded, afterwards Yuusaku and Akai say “The BO is going to make a big move” Some asks: is James there? Leaker: I didn’t see him. But I saw Jodie and red vodka (probably Camel?) and a couple of unknown FBI peeps Q: where is Kid? Leaker: [not sure about this one, something about Megure speaking and Kid being in Shibuya idek ] Also, Yuukiko and Yuusaku weren’t poisoned, they realized that something was wrong with the food from the start. Yuukiko whispers to Conan: “after all, shin-chan seems to be vermouth’s favorite”" DC will be on break until October—we can expect spoiler pics for 1,061 in about 7 weeks. UPDATE: The last six pages of 1,060 have come out: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/6897756059 UPDATE (#2): And here are translations of those pages, courtesy of Night Baron: Spoiler Page 11 Megure mentions that Kid was sighted in Shibuya at the same time, and Conan realizes that "Yusaku" is not Kid. Page 12 Gin: Took you long enough... Gin: Vermouth!! Vermouth: Sorry... Vermouth: I was doing some minor business that Rum ordered me to do... Vermouth: A person that might become a threat to the organization was staying in Japan for some reason this night, so he wanted me to investigate that... Page 13 Vodka: And how did... Vodka: ...that go? Vermouth: It was such a letdown... I can destroy them any time I want... Gin: You won’t kill them? Vermouth: Yeah... Vermouth: For now... Vermouth: But when it’s necessary... Vermouth: I will at any time... Conan: Oi?! Conan: This is not the time for sleeping!! Conan: There’s a high chance Vermouth was here... Conan: ...until a while ago!! Conan: She might as well... Conan: ...be the reason behind your sickness... Page 14 Conan: A... Conan: ...Akai-san?! Conan: And Dad and Mom too...?! Conan: Why?! Akai: Jodie, Camel... Akai: How’s the situation? Page 15 Jodie: Nothing like a listening device or a hidden camera in the study as it seems... Camel: The other rooms as well are clear! Jodie: As expected of a Plan devised by a best-selling author! Camel: Looks like they were completely fooled! Akai: We still can’t let our guard down... Conan: F-fooled..? Yukiko: When I told Yusaku that we’re being monitored by someone, he told me, let’s act conspicuously and see how will they act... Yusaku: ...and right after that we saw a suspicious leaflet for an Italian restaurant in the mailbox, we went there... Yusaku: ...and sure enough the taste of the food was off, so when I checked it up afterwards, I found out that Distigmine bromide was mixed with it... Conan: Then you didn’t eat, right? Yukiko: Yeah... we just pretended to eat it and put in my bag, and thanks to that my favorite bag became sloppy... Yusaku: When Distigmine bromide is ingested, it’s followed by symptoms similar to the ones of food poisoning... Yusaku: Which are : nausea•( can’t make out the kanji for this one )•stomach ache, diarrhea•sweating... Yusaku: So I feigned said symptoms, enticed their comrade... Yusaku: to show them that we are utterly unguarded and have nothing suspicious whatsoever! Conan: If that’s the case you could’ve just told me beforehand... Page 16 Yusaku: To fool your enemy, you must first fool your friends! Conan: ..... Yukiko: Plus, you’re Sharon’s favorite Shin-chan as it seems... Akai: We managed to prevent this place from getting attacked by them for now... Yusaku: Yeah, all that’s left is to get prepared... Yusaku: For their big move... Sidenote: The opening act is over.
