NakagawaRyou 1 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 The Late Nakagawa Ryou here. I just wanted to introduce myself, seeing as I've been here awhile but never said anything. I honestly mainly joined to work on the DC Wiki, and just recently discovered that this forum came with it. Not much else to say except that I hate racism and intolerance but love music, cinema, voice acting, manga, and detective fiction (I love reading in general, but this is mainly what I read). I'm actually currently working on my own detective short story. Errr, sorry, I talk too much sometimes...
Maurice 274 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Hehe, it's never too late to say hello! Welcome to DCW! I'd show you around but I think you know the place pretty well by now. And thank you for the numerous valuable edits to the wiki. It's really fun working with you. ^^ One last thing: you say you're working on your own detective story? How far along are you? Are you planning to release/publish it or is it more like an hobby?
NakagawaRyou 1 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 I intend to submit it to a few places. It took me about a week, but I have the whole story pieced together and figured out (it's a locked room case and my culprit had too strong of an alibi). Now I just need to write it, which I'll prob'ly do tomorrow.
CarpetCrawler 280 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 I love the signature. My Mom is/was a HUGE fan of crime drama television, and loves shows like Matlock, Law and Order, Ironside, Jake and the Fatman, Murder, She Wrote, Homocide: Life on the Street, Monk, Baretta, but her FAVORITE will always be Columbo. We have the DVD sets around here, definitely one of my favorite crime shows.
NakagawaRyou 1 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Yes, Columbo is greatness. The detective in my story is inspired by Columbo, Poirot, and Akechi Kogoro.
Maurice 274 Report post Posted January 19, 2010 I was thinking of adding a "Fan work" section to the site. If there's enough interest from the community for such an addition, it could be a great place to promote your story (if you're interested of course). ^^

I mean... when I suggested it, my original intent was for Conan-related stuff... but I don't see why it has to be limited to one fandom
Noir 19 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Welcome to the Detective Conan World forum! It's nice to see a fan who's also a writer. >: D
Maurice 274 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 ...doesn't a "fan work" section already exist? I mean... when I suggested it, my original intent was for Conan-related stuff... but I don't see why it has to be limited to one fandom True but what I had in mind here was something "bigger". It would be a little like the Watch section, where you are given a list of stories classified by type of mystery/story (just an example) and people would be able to comment, rate and more. The author would also be able to promote his/her website, etc... Basically, it would become a feature of the site and these stories (and authors too) would get much more exposure. To sum up, there would be a "Fan work" (or something similar) tab at the top next to "Watch". This is all just an idea though but I thought something like that would be something interesting for detective/mystery story authors, fans of DC, who could use this site to promote their work. We could even go one step further and break down the new Fan section into "Fan stories" and "Fan arts" for both story and graphic/video based original creations. Big project indeed but maybe something to consider on the long-term. What do you think?
