IdentityUnknown 216 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 but why would you hate it? My dad never has time to teach me all of those skills... Actually, I can see why. Sometimes you get annoyed at that kind of life and you just want to be normal and go to school and not have to do this and that.

Lia. 45 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 Actually, I can see why. Sometimes you get annoyed at that kind of life and you just want to be normal and go to school and not have to do this and that. But don't you get to do all of those including going to school and all? 'Cause he treated me like a boy...and he obligated me to do those things...he still treats me like a boy @BD-kun: Huh? Do you have any brothers or sisters?

IdentityUnknown 216 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 My dad has never taught me anything of the sort. He's encouraged me to do it myself and supported me through training and stuff like that, but he himself doesn't teach me.

Black Demon 466 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 And why is that? I believe my father haven't done anything for me other than having s*x with my mom to give birth to me, arguing with my mom everyday WHILE cooperating with her to manipulate my life. Of course he bought me laptop, cellphones and many other expensive stuffs, which make the naive me once thought that he loves me very much. But after "certain events", I shockingly discovered that they're all parts of his manipulation strategy. Yes, it's a strategy, not a plan.
Kaitou Kid Legendary Thief 197 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 No really. I dont understand... What is so good about never being able to do things? Im seriously confused that you guys don't feel glad that you are able to do so many things with your family... @BD-kun: Ah... Okay I get it... *hugs BD*

Kaitou Kid Legendary Thief 197 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 But I still feel being able to spend time with your family is very lucky... I've only went cycling with my family like... only once... I've never even went swimming at the beach with my family before... Learning how to ride a bike is also not done with my family... *sigh*

Black Demon 466 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 Did you're parents broke up? *hug BD-kun* Not really. Even though they always fight and dislike one another, they can still willingly support each others in manipulating my life, my past, my present and my future the exact way they want them to be. I don't think I even have the "right" to dream about something in that family, unless it also support my "future career" (i.e the job they want me to do). @IU: I totally understand that feeling

AJ M. 204 Report post Posted September 5, 2011 This topic got depressing... My dad taught me how to write my ABCs when I was 3 (with a belt). So I was emotionally scarred by that. He also made me read and study a lot during my childhood, which is the opposite of Shinichi because his father wanted him to refrain from reading too much. I mean I appreciate that he wants me to be knowledgeable, but there’s a thin line between wanting me to be my best and forcing me to be my best. His teaching style is very harsh though, when I make a mistake, he would scold me (or whack me with a belt during my younger years). So it’s hard to determine whether he loves me or not. He is asian (Filipino) by the way, maybe the stereotypes for asian fathers are true. I'm sorry for you all who have father issues, or family issues in general, too... I'm really sorry to hear that Anyway, I think we should change the topic because this is really getting more and more depressing. A fact about me: I have very bad eyesight.
