Emiko Seiei 46 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 I love reading poems! They're really nice. Some are super thought inspiring. Others are so beautiful they can make you cry. I just read a book that was told in poems. It's called Out of the Dust. I think it was pretty good I like writing poems too, but I'm no good at it. Except me and my classmates did come up with this one really good poem based off a picture. It was an English assignment. It was so cool because out of our entire class the teacher named ours the best written poem. We beat the table filled with the "best" writers in our class. I'm about to share the poem my classmates and I created. It's called Taken Want in the Eyes, Need for a Life, Innocence of the Face, Love for a Soul, Premonition of Loss and sacrifice The evil is dehumanizing, cornering. Helplessness and the sacrifice of a Mother’s Love, Which is seasoned by abandonment. She is Unable to care for, Unable to protect. A man taking her baby. The woman, frightened of separation, Worried for her baby’s future, Who is now gone. No idea of what happened, No remembrance of his mother, His little feet growing, Without a mother’s Shadow. . . So did you like it?
tengaku squared 291 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 Hold on, let me dig out an old poem I wrote. AHEM... The waves recline to reveal a child on the soft sand His skin was as pure as a pearl As I went to comfort him He opened his eyes, little chocolate drops suspended in water As I made him laugh His laugh rippled across the waves And beyond the shore And across the sea
Lia. 45 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 I had a unit on Poetry back in 8th Grade. I found lots of good poems and wrote some of my own for the collection- my classmates really liked one of my pieces. *tries to remember* I had a poem published when I was a kid... My teacher in 8th grade said that I make a good poet or something?
Miss Smiles 105 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 Ahh... I love well written poems. Your teacher say that your poems must be good! I like to write short ones: The echo of singing voice The soothing voice reached to my ears, the cheery voice echoed to ring towards my youthful self, sweet and young singing voice lit up my smile. A sweet song echoing in air, caressing my temptation to sing, lift my heart with bass as singing voice break chain from my heart away.
Emiko Seiei 46 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 In my school they have the students submit a poems, and they form a book. I have one of those books so I guess I'll share another poem x) I can't seem to find any of my own poems though If There Was No Tomorrow by a very smart person in my school When peaceful walls are broken down When you want to smile but you're forced to frown When the loss is higher than the gain When you are the strongest but you're in pain When your face seems happy but inside you're mad It's not that bad So don't you worry Though through the tears it's all so blurry Just lay back and crack a smile Make your time worth your while Think of those that didn't wake up Think of those who've hit rock bottom And think again of how lucky you might be That you walk this earth proud and free And live your life like there's no tomorrow Let your troubles go to peace and not your sorrow this person won second place and I like this poem very much
IdentityUnknown 216 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 I love poems (though quotes are better, shorter and simpler). I tend to write longer ones. I write them though I do read occasionally. @Nobody: That's beautiful.
tengaku squared 291 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 My teacher in 8th grade said that I make a good poet or something? My teacher in 8th grade said that I'd become an arsonist someday. :V Anyways, how's my poem that I wrote during a beach trip in 5 minutes then totally forgot about it? Pretty good. Arsonist? LOL XD I guess your teacher didn't like you much... I've written a few poems, but my rhyming is hopeless. I'll try and dig out my old notebook... BTW, my poems are usually vaguely based on my fanfiction. Just keep that in mind if I ever figure out if I threw away my journal.

My teacher in 8th grade said that I make a good poet or something? Nice. My writing teacher said something like that, though to be honest, I'd rather write stories. When I write poems...they often turn into songs, or at the very least have a beat to them. My poems tend to be about emotions...not really about nature. My teacher in 8th grade said that I'd become an arsonist someday. :V Anyways, how's my poem that I wrote during a beach trip in 5 minutes then totally forgot about it? Lol. Anyways, I thought that your poem was sweet. Though most don't describe skin to be "as pure as a pearl".

I think your poem was pretty good The images it produced in my mind were quite interesting. I like the metaphors/similes you used too For a poem that was made in 5 minutes, it's pretty good
Miss Smiles 105 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 5 minutes! I take longer than that. I now feel good poem writing is tedious job. but it's challenging I like to take on.

Black Demon 466 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 This is one of the few poems that I wrote: FLY I wished to God: "Please give me wings But I won't fly to the Heaven And be with thee". I wished to God: "Please give my wings But I won't play with the angels And sing with stars". I wished to God: "Please give me wings But I won't fly across the jungles And through the sea". I wished to God: "Please give me wings But I won't fly to the Heaven I'll burn in Hell". God then asked me: "Why do you wish so?" "Because I must be punished But I first need to have wings. I need to show them I can do it I need to show them I can fly And before that I get punished I want a person to see my wings..." Note: The "I" character in this poem is not me. There is also a very dark story behind this poem.
Lia. 45 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 *searches for poems* This is one of the poems I wrote when I was in 8th Grade. My language ability wasn't as good as it currently is, so... forgive my errors. DREAMS Why Does it always seem That wonderful things take place In dreams Of all the songs And poems of the night, What is the best thing We can find? When you close your eyes And let your mind drift off You land in a place That you created yourself This is the place Where your greatest wishes come true Where your greatest fears come alive Where you can get away with things Where you have everything your heart desires Where your doubts vanish Where you're the designer Where you capture the perfect storylines Where you are the hero of your own story This is the place Where you can see Paradise ahead of you This is the place Where you use your every wit Where you get things you can only wish to get And then... Poof! You wake up Ready for another day Of your cruel life Catching whatever is thrown before you Falling into the endless pit of shame This is the best one I wrote that year, I think... Again, this was written two years ago.
IdentityUnknown 216 Report post Posted September 7, 2011 Huh. I'll write a poem in 10 minutes right now. If hopes could fly and dreams could soar If wishes were true and love was pure If words were kept and innocence preserved Wouldn't that be beautiful? If yesterday was the same as today If the innocent girl still could play If work was nothing but a game This wouldn't be called the world. The world is pain The world is bitter The world remembers But can't forgive The world forgets The world ignores And somehow, the world preserves But the pain and the tears The scars and the hurt The tragedy and fear are worth it For the sliver of joy The glimpse of the smile The pureness of laughter Shines through And perhaps happiness is not for perfection But to appreciate What is good. ...I just realize that was the most random poem I've ever written and probably the darkest as well. Huh.
