I believe aliens exists because Stephen Hawking said so! (^ ^)d

. . .and because my inner 5 year old self wants to believe so xD

To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like. If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn't turn out well for the Native Americans

He believes alien life not only certainly exists on planets but perhaps even in other places, like within stars or even floating in outer space. He also warns that a few of these species might be intelligent and threaten Earth. Contact with such species might be devastating for humanity. He advocated that, rather than try to establish contact, humans should try to avoid contact with alien life forms.

gotten from wikipedia :P

Dont believe in stephen hawkings... believe in Albert Einstein

:\ but Hawkings provided a mathematical theory about how aliens exist.

i mean wats the chances that we're the only life forms?

i say very unlikely ^ ^

:D so aliens exist.

hm...but whether or not they're good is the real question!

Dont believe in stephen hawkings... believe in Albert Einstein

No offense to religious people, but religion was Einstein's weakness. He refused to continue researching some important theories because he believed they went against 'the will of god'. Stephen Hawkings has mathematically proven that God did not create the universe. While this does not rule out the possibility of a God (though, this god can technically not exist in the physical dimension...), it basically says that Einstein was wrong in those cases. And THINK ABOUT IT. There are infinite planets out there, billions upon trillions upon quatrillions upon quintillions upon sextillions upon etc. etc. What's the probability only one of those planets has life on it? (oh, and the planets also have moons that could have life on them!)

And every non-believer, stop with the 'but they haven't contacted us, so they can't exist'! Argument. Who says aliens are required to have super advanced technology? Who says it's possible for either of us to ever meet the other? Physics are against it! The next closest star to us is 25 LIGHT YEARS away. We'd never get there. It's physically impossible to travel faster than light. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure you end up time traveling. (travel into the fourth dimension) Aliens exist. That's that.

I have nothing against your rant Aeyra, but can we avoid attacking religion? We're going to end up having a very big controversy if we get into that, which I'd rather avoid.

That wasn't my intention, I just wanted to point out what Stephen Hawkings said. Nobody take offense, please!

@MKK: Yes, because astronomers can totally see beings perhaps our size thousands of light years away. Makes perfect sense. Can you see the giant boulder on that planet in the galaxy Andromeda? I don't think so. Like I said, not being able to see them doesn't prove they don't exist. Probability basically assures the existence of life forms on another planet. There is evidence of water on Mars, and I believe they found dead bacteria on rocks there. If there is bacteria so close, then why is intelligent life millions of light years away so unbelievable?

I say an intelligent alien is impossible

Having so much life on earth was also damn near impossible, but I guess it happened, didn't it? We evolved from the tiniest cells, and slowly over billions of years in the right conditions, became what we are today. There are planets billions of years older than us. So many of them I can't even give you a number. And even if only some just have the conditions for life, who says it didn't happen? Who says some small asexual bacteria didn't form, multiply, divide, became a tiny multicellular organism, and eventually involve into intelligent life? I'm not saying they evolved into humans, that's asking way too much of the universe. I'm not saying they evolved into blue things with 50 gazillion eyes either. I don't know what they are. I just know that they are adapted to whatever environment they live in, and that there is definitely at least one more planet out there with intelligent life. But as my science teacher said, "Do you think we really count as intelligent life?" :P

 I say that you ought to have a little evidence to back up any opinion.

"Do you think we really count as intelligent life?" :P

Considering we've made the same mistakes over and over again...no. :V

XD Humans do keep making the same stupid mistakes over and over. :3 We waste time, we wage war, etc. etc. Hopefully, the aliens out there are smarter and are peaceful.

They recently (Not really recently, but if you look at time in terms of planets its recently) discovered a planet in another galaxy which has similar conditions as Earth. So it is a possibility that there are life forms on that planet. What lives in there is currently unknown. There might be other life forms in yet another galaxy which we haven't found yet. So it is entirely possible that there are aliens.

Somewhere in the universe, there is a high probably that a planet in a distant solar system has efficient living conditions for organisms to settle on; like that of Earth. The universe appears endless, so there just may be another "Earth" out there that has about the same distance away from a sun. Whether life on such a planet is less or more advanced than that of our own, these extraterrestrial organisms are still classified as "aliens", hence the word extraterrestrial. Overall, I do believe in aliens; we may never set eyes upon such creatures, but nevertheless, I still believe in their existence.

Okay so here's my analysis.

Earth formed 4.562 Billion years ago. First 1000 million years ago..it was just a rotating ball of fire. Then some years later(Astronomically) it cooled, got most of its dense matter into its core. I think we all know this. They say first life form was just a micro-organism in water.. Where did this water come from? Where did the microbe come from? Its impossible to say that it just formed naturally..Forming such accurate chains of Carbon is impossible..So where did we come from? Where did we originate?..I guess we may never find an answer to this question..

We live in a galaxy named Milky-Way, a barred spiral Galaxy. It takes 10,000 years to travel through milky-way, if we travel at the speed of light. In this distance, there war 400 Billion stars..More than the population of Earth! So now, atleast 1 in 1000 stars will have a planetary system. That gives us 0.4 BILLION PLANETS.

Well that increases the chances of life Exponentially!. Thats why i believe Aliens exist.

Alien---> A living creature originated on a different planet, having different Genetics altogether.

Considering that such creatures exist, even we are Aliens to those creatures.

They may/ may not be more intelligent than us. It is also possible that they are our hosts.

In our universe, there are 1 Billion Galaxies...Which means more stars..which means more planets..That increases possibility of finding life Stupendously!

Stephen Hawking is one of the leading scientist of this generation, who has done a marvel in the field of "Black Holes" (My personal Favorite Topic), who thinks Aliens exist. Albert Einstein was another amazing scientist who gave his special theory of relativity..So basically, you cant compare both of them.

In the end, it comes to what you believe, leaving behind all the facts.. Do they exist..or they dont?
