The Beauty Of The Celestal Heavens

I dont expect that to happen in metropolitan cities. Instead of such a destructive way, rather go to a village(30-40 km away) and gaze at the stars as it will be less noisy there. Most of the cities, there will be light pollution...precisely why some people werent able to see Halley's Comet in LA. And with recent usage of inverters and generaters, black out is only seen during Earth Hours.

Not entirely true. It depends on a number of factors like openness of the atmosphere and what cross winds are around. LA is basically locked in by the mountains, and thus the pollution cannot escape easily making it much worse than elsewhere.

And again, I only said the destructive way because I have seen a starlit sky from the ground and atop of buildings. And being that high up is nice because there is NO obstruction, and is gorgeous. Both are stunning but being able to see that much further is nice for those of us urbanites. And for a good portion of people a place with so few lights is hard to come by due to distance, as such is the case with me. Then again, the only time that view was rivaled was when I was on my family's farm in Europe... and that was stunning because all you needed to do was climb up the adjacent mountain and damn what an amazing view. I don't mention that because I only have vague memories of it because I was so young. I do remember my father briefly teaching me how to read the stars though (navigation wise).

Main reason is Light pollution. Well atleast, in Mumbai, the air isnt scattered as we got sea-breezes/south west winds from west and western ghats on the east. And as wind blows towards south-west, it takes time to scatter the air northwards. But i have to agree that nothing beats star-gazing on a higher grounds. I used to travel to a nearby hill station every saturday. It used to be the best time i had in the weekends.

Nothing beats star gazing in terms of pleasure for me. My thought process is at its best during that time. Pure eye-gasm for me.

Ill explain what i meant--

Considering equation:

Detective Rohit + Kyuu + Moonlight Magician=Invincible

As Kyuu and Moonlight Magician>> Rohit

We get:

Kyuu+ Moonlight Magician=invincible.(Neglecting me)

On topic now:

The Best example Of supernova ever caught on camera..

No wait... Rohit is not negligible!!!

*gets little angry* <-- I mean it.

Stop degrading yourself.

If you're negligible, then KKLT = non existent.

Btw, I remember hearing that someone found a system similar to ours... I'll try to find the article and link it here.

Please do! I am waiting

Now, some more facts.

-->The Milky Way galaxy is whirling rapidly, spinning our sun and all its other stars at around 100 million km per hour.

-->The Sun travels around the galaxy once every 200 million years – a journey of 100,000 light years.

-->There may be a huge black hole in the very middle of the most of the galaxies.

-->The swirling gases around a black hole turn it into an electrical generator, making it spout jets of electricity billions of kilometers out into space.

-->A day in Mercury lasts approximately as long as 59 days on Earth.

-->A Spacesuit costs around 11 Million $.

-->Mar's Olyumpus Mons its the largest Volcano in the Solar System. Its area covers USA's Wyoming.

-->Jupiter spins right round in less than 10 hours which means that the planet’s surface is moving at nearly 50,000 km/hr.

-->Einstein’s theory of general relativity shows that gravity not only pulls on matter, but also space and even ‘Time’ itself.

--> The fastest spinning objects in the Universe are neutron stars – these can rotate 500 times in just 1 second.

-->Neptune’s mood Triton is the coldest place in the Solar System, with surface temperatures of -236°C

-->(My Favourite)The heart of a star reaches 16 million °C. A grain of sand this hot would kill someone 150 km away.

What I know about the planets:

Sun=Sol, Roman God of the Sun...counterpart of Greek god Helios and often confused with Apollo

Mercury=Roman counterpart of Hermes, the messenger god, god of trickery, god who invented the lyre...

Venus=Who doesn't know who she is?

Mars=Roman god of war, representing the brutality of war in contrast to Athena/Minerva's focus on war strategies

Jupiter=Zeus, father of gods and men, husband of Hera/Juno, youngest among his siblings, cared for by the Hyades as a child, god of marriages, who rules from his throne in Mount Olympus, thought by the Greeks to be the highest mountain in the world, father of Perseus, Hercules, and many other Greek heroes...

Saturn=or Cronus, the father of Zeus/Jupiter and husband of Rhea who swallowed his sons when they were born to keep any from taking his throne

Uranus=or the Greek Ouranus, he was father sky, the husband of Gaea and father of the titans and the hundred-handed monsters

Neptune=Poseidon; the god of the sea, brother to Zeus, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, and Hades, husband of Amphitrite

So you see, I really don't know much about the planets themselves
